Oh, Just A Few GALLONS of Pixie Dust! - A July/August 2012 TR

"if your head gets any bigger, it's gonna fall off."

Seriously, Disney Full House? Best storyline, hands down. I may have to YouTube it now, just for nostalgia sake!

When I heard about MMY (which I just found out earlier today) I had the same reaction. I loooooove MMY, but I have faith that Disney knows what they're doing?:confused3

Seriously, your report makes me get so excited for my upcoming trip... Even though it's not for 74 days... But whose counting?:dance3:

Haha, you made the Skyway sound so confusing. But when you actually write it out, it sounds that way, doesn't it?

OMG! Your Donald bow.....is.......AWESOME! I love love love love love love love it!!!!!!!!!!!!

It is always best when you end up at a table close to the buffet.

Dude, my Dad rarely looks straight at the camera. Most pictures of him are that way because I take the picture AGAIN and make him look at the camera.

Donald IS the best of the fab five. I mean come on, he's crabby, gets angry, can't speak well, and gets tormented by chipmunks. Who doesn't love that?!

The pool at BLT is great. Joaquin (my nephew) absolutely loved it when we stayed there in July last year.

Any reference to Disney in any television show was always the best. I used to love the Step by Step Disney episode too.

Didn't Stephanie always sit and sulk? :lmao:

Wait, there are monorail stickers?! How do I not know this....

Eliot is my favorite part of MSEP. I will watch the whole thing just to see him. ;)

Who wouldn't want to sleepwalk in Disney? I would. But you might trip on the trolley tracks. Just sayin.

SO now I'm bummed all over again. No more MM&Y:sad1: I never got to see it, each time we were there, some one was sick or we were so beat we left. The new show is opening this fall, which doesn't give me a date. The FLE was going to opening in the fall and that Dec 6th! UGH.

I'm so ready to see Wishes again, I told John even if they are tired, I'm staying and they can go back to the room.

Great update. I wish I could see your pictures now. I am so glad I saw MMY in June because I won't get to see it again. Boo. I really, really liked it and I hope it comes back in some tweaked form. One can hope, right?

I had no idea there were so many full house episodes filmed in Disney world. I used to watch that show, but obviously I wasn't enough of a fan. But seriously, who didn't like the Tanners.

Anyway, I will stop back later to see pictures. :)

Thanks! I know, I hope so too! The biggest reason for my sadness is that I'm just in love with that song and the singer's voice. It's all so beautiful! I'll miss that for sure.

Oh no, hahah. Just the 2-parter episode. All these references are from the same episodes! I'm just slightly obsessed is all. :rotfl:

Hope you like(d) them!

What an amazing MK night! From the sunset to the MM&Y and Wishes to a twofer on the Peoplemover to the Sword in the Stone (and everything in between!)

I'm a teacups kinda girl, but it's hard to find someone willing to ride it with me!

How great is it that you were only a two minute monorail ride from home?!?! Sounds perfect to me!!

It was! You just can't go wrong with a night like that.

Oh boo! I remember you saying that in your TR/PTR. What a bummer!

It was AMAZING. It was so convenient too, especially since we were so beat!

I have to admit, the People Mover and Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh are definitely near the top of my list of favorites. I hadn't ridden on WtP before our last trip, and I pretty much fell in love with it right away. How can you not?

The Magic Kingdom at night is so beautiful. Some of my favorite memories ever are of just wandering throughout the different lands and seeing all the lights. I love it so much.

I agree! It's really hard not to love those two. Oddly enough, my December trip (the one before this one) was the first time I rode Winnie the Pooh as well!

It is SO beautiful! Aww that's so cute! I agree though, you don't even have to be doing anything at MK to have a good time. It's nice to just take it all in sometimes. :thumbsup2

:lmao:

"Maybe you didn't notice this CROWN on my head." :rolleyes1 Man I love the WDW Full House. Because I had to, go to 2:56. hehe http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zu2MK5kb_J0&feature=channel&list=UL

I'm glad you got to see the MMY show before it ends. It'll be interesting to see what they replace it with. I only saw the show once but it definitely had me tearing up (and this older woman who was standing next to us-she was there with her husband and grandkids and the husband told the grandkids how grandma was sentimental. Awww. That got me even more teary-eyed).

Anyways...that's so awesome the monorail is such a quick ride back to the CR. If I can get BLT for next spring break my dad said he would seriously consider going just so we can walk to 7 AM EMH (and even though he would have been there literally a week before with my mom and sister!).

Hahahah! OMG YES!!!! Thank you for finding that!

EVERYONE CLICK THAT LINK!!!!! THANK YOU SARAH!
She was such a brat. Gooooooodness.

Me too! I'd seen it before, but from the train station... so yeah, not the greatest of views! So it was great to see it up close. (And also from my balcony many other nights. ;)) Aww that's such a sweet story!

Your dad sounds like a smart man. Omg, if only I could do that! Goodness. But yeah, it is the most convenient place ever. You can walk TO, and get on the monorail and get off the first stop FROM. It's perfect. When exactly do you get to book? Isn't it this week?

Sounds like y'all had a great night in MK! :thumbsup2

That's great that you were able to see the MMY show one last time. I was so mad when I read that it was ending. I didn't get to see it on our trip last year & I won't ever see it now. :sad1:

Love that y'all got so many rides done. I don't think I would have been able to function on so little sleep. :rotfl:

We definitely did. :thumbsup2

I know! Of course at the time, I had no idea it would be the last time (from MK). Oh no! I'm so sorry you don't get to see it! I wish they'd just leave it up until they were ready to start the new one! That's such a bummer. :(

Hahah I was on a Disney arrival high, I guess!

I just found your trip report and I am hooked.

We are headed to BLT on Friday and since you love the monorail, I have a question for you.

Do the monorails have limited hours based on the theme park hours? When we stayed at BLT in November and stayed for Epcot EMH we could not take the monorail all the way back to BLT because the MK monorail had stopped running. I am trying to think ahead for our trip.

Awesome! Thanks so much for being here!

FRIDAY?! BLT? Oh man... I'm so jealous! I hope you have an amazing time!

The resort monorail runs until 2 hours after the Magic Kingdom closes, I believe. So, it wouldn't be the same for Epcot. As far as I know, however, they will have busses running from Epcot to the monorail resorts! I wish I knew for sure, but as far as I know, that's correct. If anyone else wants to chime in, please feel free!

I love all your full house references, I completely utterly totally love that show and the Disney one and the Christmas one where Steve, Joey and Vicky all show up dressed as Santa Claus are my absolute favorites!

Wow you guys were troopers to last all day after being up soooo early to catch your flight...hopefully you woke up refreshed for another day at the world.

How amazingly cool that you could see your hotel from the Peoplemover...I love the look of the contemporary and BLT, just wish they were a little more affordable and not so quite out of my current price range lol.

I can't wait to hear more:goodvibes

Thank you! Omg yay, another Full House fan! We're awesome, basically. I love that episode too! One of my favorites was the one where the twins were born during Michelle's Flinstones birthday party, and Teddy karate chopped the cake. (All I can ever think about is... AHH THE CAKE IS RUINED! I like cake.)

Hahah we tried! It was our only chance for EMH so we wanted to take advantage! We totally did, believe it or not! I basically don't need that much sleep at Disney... I'm always too excited and happy to be tired. HAHA.

That was such a weird and amazing feeling! It's like, OH... there it is! Goodness, it was amazing. Next time, of course, I'll look at it and be like "WAHHH I MISS YOU." Sigh...

Oh girl, I totally get it! One day when you're rich, you'll totally be able to swing it. No sweat. :cool2:

I am so thrilled that I am NOT the only one that sheds tears of joy when @ WDW. Whether I see the Monorail, or the Castle or just standing in the middle of any part of the park, I cry and still try to figure whether I am yearning for my childhood again, or so very grateful that I'm there @ my age. LOL :lmao:

Oh goodness, you're not the only one at all! I promise. Sometimes seeing Disney commercials even makes me cry. (Okay, all the time.)

I grew up near San Francisco and lived in No. CA until about 5 years ago. My daughter and niece always wanted to go find the Tanner house. We would go to the city, ride the cable cars and found the row of houses in the beginning of the show, but we never found the Tanner house. :lmao:

I love the Contemporary because when they announced WDW, they also talked about the hotel and the fact that the monorail would actually go through the hotel. I was sold!! Then and there, as it was the coolest thing I had ever seen or even heard of!! Really loving all of your pictures!!

Looking forward to day 2!!!

Great update! I'm glad that you're feeling some Pete's dragon love and no longer think he is totally creepy. :rotfl: You at least gotta love Elliot, he's AWESOME! (so awesome that I suggested to DH that we name this new baby Elliot- and promptly got shot down :lmao: )

I think the peoplemover is simply the BEST at night. I love seeing tomorrowland all lit up, and watching the castle change colors too- what could be better than that! Oh yeah, being able to see BLT!

You guys are real troopers staying out so late! Good call walking through the Castle, those mosaics have been a favorite of mine since I first went to Disney!

Pete's Dragon is awesome! I haven't seen it in forever, but I know that I liked it when I was younger. It's just that usually, the Pete in MSEP creeeeeps me out because he's just such a grown man acting like a child. HAHA. This one, however, was great! Hahah, darnit! Everett and Elliot would have been great! ;)

It is!!! I love that ride. You're right. Tomorrowland at night is just the best, so seeing it all from above at night is perfect!

Thanks! We were beat, but it was so much fun! They're definitely beautiful!

Ah, finally, someone who can mourn the loss of MMY with me!! :sad1: I had basically the same reaction when I read the news about the show being replaced.
Alex gave me a hard time about being so sad about the news, because, before I saw the show, I thought it'd be totally lame. I hated the idea. Then I saw it and fell in love. I listen to the soundtrack several times a week.

All right, enough with my MMY funeral...:rotfl:

Nighttime EMHs at MK are the best, and I applaud you for trekking through it on your arrival day!

Walking through the castle and seeing it up close is great. Really makes you feel the Disney magic. :goodvibes

OH YES. Honestly, I kinda thought it'd be lame too, because I'm like... why do I care about random people's pictures? But then I saw it. I heard the soundtrack. I fell in love. Thank God for you tube!!! IT WILL NEVER DIE.

Hah thank you! It was our only chance, so we figured we'd better go for it!

Exactly!

Love your pictures... I cracked up when I saw the one of Pete! Can't wait to read all about your first full day! Yay! So much fun when your whole trip is ahead of you!

Thank you! Hahah glad you appreciated it. I totally agree! It's such a great feeling!

SO sad that the MMY is going away! I only got to see it once or twice...unacceptable! I hope I like the new show just as much. I totally get crying during the fireworks...it is overwhelming! I get SO emotional in the MK. Don't even talk to me about what I'm like when it's time to leave the park.

I love the pictures you took of the castle looking straight up! They are gorgeous. Gah, I wish I could just live there. It is my dream to somehow finagle a stay in the castle penthouse apartment. One day!

ME TOO! I'm so grateful now that I have the soundtrack on my iTunes, and thankfully we can watch the show on you tube... but it just won't be the same. Sighs all around.

Oh thank you! I really liked them too! It's so amazing to be standing right under it. YES. I KNOW. Do people still get to stay there (besides Tom Cruise and his daughter)??

Yay for an awesome MK evening!!! pixiedust:

Definitely! :thumbsup2

"if your head gets any bigger, it's gonna fall off."

Seriously, Disney Full House? Best storyline, hands down. I may have to YouTube it now, just for nostalgia sake!

Seriously, your report makes me get so excited for my upcoming trip... Even though it's not for 74 days... But whose counting?:dance3:

HAHAHA. SO much love for that show. I encourage the you tubing!

YES. It's such a bummer! I really really REALLY hope they don't change it too much, but the main thing I'm sad about is the SONG. AHHH I LOVE IT SO MUCH.

Aww thank you! I'm so glad! Listen, that's not even far away AT ALL. AND! Guess what? Tomorrow your countdown will be at 73! THAT'S MY FAVORITE NUMBER. Anyways... please don't pay attention to me...

Who wouldn't want to sleepwalk in Disney? I would. But you might trip on the trolley tracks. Just sayin.

Oh, boo. :(

Thank you!!!

I agree, the pool is so much fun! I loved both of the pools!

OMG, I've never seen the Step by Step Disney episode! I've looked all over for it! I've seen Full House, Boy Meets World, Family Matters, even Rosanne... but never stinking Step by Step! Bummer.

THERE ARE. They look like the 'earning my wings' stickers that little kids get on flights.

Hahah I trip on those tracks enough when I'm wide awake. :lmao:

SO now I'm bummed all over again. No more MM&Y:sad1: I never got to see it, each time we were there, some one was sick or we were so beat we left. The new show is opening this fall, which doesn't give me a date. The FLE was going to opening in the fall and that Dec 6th! UGH.

I'm so ready to see Wishes again, I told John even if they are tired, I'm staying and they can go back to the room.

Aww I'm so sorry! I really think it's dumb that they couldn't just run the show until the new one starts! Omg I'm so bummed for you. Maybe you could look it up on you tube? It wouldn't be the same, but it'd be something! I'll just think good thoughts for you about the opening date for the new show (if it's even as good as MMY)!

GOOD IDEA! Who says you have to go with them if you don't wanna? Wishes is worth it! :thumbsup2

I grew up near San Francisco and lived in No. CA until about 5 years ago. My daughter and niece always wanted to go find the Tanner house. We would go to the city, ride the cable cars and found the row of houses in the beginning of the show, but we never found the Tanner house. :lmao:

HAHAHA that's so funny! So you think it's actually in another spot? How random! But I must say, that's really cool that you grew up there! It seems like such an awesome city.

YES! It's the original! That alone makes it amazing. The monorail is just the icing on the awesome cupcake! Aww, thank you! I'm glad you're enjoying them!

Can't wait to share!!!

Great update Marissa! I'm so glad that you got to do EMH with your sister. What great memories.

I too am very, very sad that I've seen MMY for the last time. I cried every single time that I saw it.

I think that Pete brainwashed you with his creepy voodoo, because he's STILL CREEPY! That voice! Ugggghhhh!

I hope that you'll dine in the castle someday, you'd love it.

Love all of the Full House references. That's always been my favorite episode of the show. I have to admit that I found both Stephanie and Michelle very annoying in that episode. I could only relate to DJ. I really wanted my boyfriend to surprise me at Disney World. Seriously though, that was one of the most unrealistic scenarios ever. What parents in their right mind would let their 16 year old fly across the country alone to surprise his girlfriend? That's not even touching the fact that a 16 couldn't book a hotel room without a parent. Sorry. I got worked up.

Can't wait to hear more! I suspect that DHS was on tap!

I LOVE going to MK when there is a beautiful sunset out. It makes me so happy and is part of the reason MK is my favorite park to be in at night.

I LOVE MSEP!!! So much. I love how retro it is, I love the floats, I love when Mickey points me out and I nearly start crying because of how happy it makes me... I could go on here. I know, I've never seen SpectroMagic but I would really miss MSEP if it goes away. It's one of the few parades I'll sit and watch and seriously be so happy about.

MMY being over is kind of sad... but um, true story.. I've never seen it! I guess it's for the best because now I can't be too sad about it.

I've always heard that Tinkerbell flying is actually a dude... Kind of weird, hahaha.

PeopleMover is the best! Seriously, I love that so much.

OMG, so as you know from twitter, we watched the Full House Disney World episode and Michelle was talking and goes "Carou-SEL again" and Matt was like, "Um, why did she say it like that?" and it suddenly dawned on me when he brought it up that this is what you were talking about! :rotfl: I love that you noticed that, too!

You know what would be fabulous? If you could just take a PeopleMover-type of ride all the way back to your resort, right to your front door. That would just make getting back to your resort after a long day in the parks amazing, no?!

I love when the Sword in the Stone has no one around it! YES!

The castle really is beautiful at night. :cloud9:

Your stroll back to BLT seems so convenient... I'm telling you, Marissa, you're reaaaallly starting to change my mind with this TR about the Contemporary/BLT. :thumbsup2

Do extra magic hours count or does the monorail stop running 2 hours after regular park hours?

Loving your updates. It had to be fun doing EMH with your sister. I enjoyed the photo's of the castle, especially including the back side - not many show those.

I LOVE the people mover!!!!!

Can hardly wait to read more updates...:surfweb:

No, No No! I knew the show would be ending but I thought it would be there still for our trip at the end of next month. After seeing your post, I looked it up and it ends Labor Day. Now I'm sad.

Came back to see your pics and I love them! What a perfect evening!

I got your Full House reference. Clearly we can be best friends! :cheer2:

Great update! I love MK at night. I was so excited on our last trip when my parents took Eli and my brother, hubby and I spent "adult time" in MK. We basically rode the PeopleMover and Space Mountain over and over again :)

I'm sure the MM&Y replacement will be just as awesome. I mean, just the fact that they project things ONTO THE CASTLE is awesome. Someone could sit up there and do lame shadow puppets and I would still think it's the coolest thing in the world. ...I have incredibly low standards. :rotfl:

Singing the post-Wishes song as loudly as possible is an absolute must-do. It's extra fun if your family is extra embarrassed. Unfortunately for me, my family has seen it all and my shenanigans no longer bring shame.

I laughed ridiculously hard at the Muppetvision reference. "BEAN!"

Your dad sounds like a smart man. Omg, if only I could do that! Goodness. But yeah, it is the most convenient place ever. You can walk TO, and get on the monorail and get off the first stop FROM. It's perfect. When exactly do you get to book? Isn't it this week?

Yup, we can book starting Saturday. You can bet we'll be doing it ASAP!

WOW!! Just found your trip report and I can't wait to read more. I can feel your excitement and I love it!!! So far it sounds like you all had a fabulous time!!

Great update Marissa! I'm so glad that you got to do EMH with your sister. What great memories.

Can't wait to hear more! I suspect that DHS was on tap!

Thank you! They are. :)

Ugh, I am just way too bummed about that! I actually only saw it twice in person, but even when I'm listening to the soundtrack I always cry! It's that song that really gets me and I hate that they have to change it!

Hahha I promise, this one was no where near as creepy as the one in December! No creepy giggling or ANYTHING. I was shocked!

Me too! I really want to try to eat there on my next trip. No clue when that is... but still!

Thank you! You're right about that! They were all about "me me me" right up until the end there. Silly sisters. Hahaha I know! There is nothing about that situation that is the least bit realistic! Though I believe Steve was two years older than DJ, making him 18, but still. Grand Floridian? It's hilarious!

You're right about that!

HAHAHA I love the pulling on the sword pic

Thanks!

I LOVE going to MK when there is a beautiful sunset out. It makes me so happy and is part of the reason MK is my favorite park to be in at night.

Me too! (Hence the reason I took that many pics of it. HAH.)

I knowww. I really will miss it a lot! I keep hearing that they're bringing Spectro back early next year. So I have no idea! I've heard the music from that parade and it's beautiful and I love it, but I definitely would miss MSEP!

MMY being over is kind of sad... but um, true story.. I've never seen it! I guess it's for the best because now I can't be too sad about it.

It's EXTREMELY sad. You need to you tube it or something.

I've always heard that Tinkerbell flying is actually a dude... Kind of weird, hahaha.

Uhhhhhh?

PeopleMover is the best! Seriously, I love that so much.

I love it too! It's so much fun. You wouldn't think it would be fun either...

HAHAH. My sister and I have been quoting that for YEARS. We always thought it was hilarious that she said it that way. Silly Olsen!

You know what would be fabulous? If you could just take a PeopleMover-type of ride all the way back to your resort, right to your front door. That would just make getting back to your resort after a long day in the parks amazing, no?!

Umm... wow. Can you submit that idea to some Imagineers right now? That would be so great! Maybe the resorts that aren't on the monorail??

I love when the Sword in the Stone has no one around it! YES!

Me too! And I never witness that so I was way too excited about it.

The castle really is beautiful at night. :cloud9:

Indeed. LOVE.

Your stroll back to BLT seems so convenient... I'm telling you, Marissa, you're reaaaallly starting to change my mind with this TR about the Contemporary/BLT. :thumbsup2

YOU SHOULD CHANGE YOUR MIND, DANGIT!!! Hurry up and change it! CHANGE IT NOW!!!

Do extra magic hours count or does the monorail stop running 2 hours after regular park hours?

I believe they do. But you could also just walk from MK.

Loving your updates. It had to be fun doing EMH with your sister. I enjoyed the photo's of the castle, especially including the back side - not many show those.

I LOVE the people mover!!!!!

Can hardly wait to read more updates...:surfweb:

Thank you! It really was. Aww thanks!

Isn't it awesome?!

Thank you so much for being here!!!

No, No No! I knew the show would be ending but I thought it would be there still for our trip at the end of next month. After seeing your post, I looked it up and it ends Labor Day. Now I'm sad.

I think it's silly that they couldn't just run the show until the new one starts up. I really don't get it.

Came back to see your pics and I love them! What a perfect evening!

Aww thanks! It was!

Hahha awesome. Let's get on that right away.

Thanks! It's the best. That sounds so great... I would love to do that!!!

I'm sure the MM&Y replacement will be just as awesome. I mean, just the fact that they project things ONTO THE CASTLE is awesome. Someone could sit up there and do lame shadow puppets and I would still think it's the coolest thing in the world. ...I have incredibly low standards. :rotfl:

I laughed ridiculously hard at the Muppetvision reference. "BEAN!"

I'm sure you're right! One of the biggest things for me is the SONG though. I just looooove it.

Oh man, that's unfortunate! Maybe you can bring some distant cousins next time and see what their reaction is!

Hahah I had to! :rotfl:

Yup, we can book starting Saturday. You can bet we'll be doing it ASAP!

YAY YAY YAY! You better keep me updated!

WOW!! Just found your trip report and I can't wait to read more. I can feel your excitement and I love it!!! So far it sounds like you all had a fabulous time!!

HOORAY! Welcome! I'm so glad you're here!

Wow, that's a big compliment, thank you so much! We really did have a wonderful trip. Thanks for joining in!! :goodvibes

I love how you managed to have the most-perfect, classic Disney evening ever. Dinner at Chef Mickey's. Check. Taking the monorail to GF. Check. Magic Kingdom for EMH. Check. Totally a perfect night.

I'm very impressed with your stamina at EMH after getting up that early that morning. We did MNSSHP on our arrival day last October (after getting up around 4 a.m. for an early flight) and by the end of the party I was sooooooo ready to head back to the resort, so, so sleepy.

I love your Donald bow! I placed my second order with Hayley a couple of weeks ago (during her big sale). I ordered seven more bows, to go with the three bows and Minnie ears I ordered the first time. :scared1: A girl has to be fully accessorized for Disney, right?
