Canada-"Under-Appreciated"?

I always found it too cliché, but that's because I'm a canadian.

When you say the hotel, are you talking about the chateau frontenac at the back? (it's been a long time since I've gone, I don't recall everything).
I admit I haven't seen the movie, and don't plan to see it either.

But I'm glad people seems to like it. It's always been a running joke over here than the Canadian Pavillon seems a bit lame, underused, compared to the others.

I didn't know back then that we had the best restaurent in WDW :confused3

What is Illuminations Rocks?

There are 2 huge "Rocks" in Canada right by World Showcase Lagoon.

Before IllumiNations begins, the tops of the "rocks" open up and lights and speakers are raised up out of them and then when IllumiNations is over the lights and speakers go back inside the "rocks" and the tops close.:)

The "rocks" blend in perfectly with the Canada theme and the first time I saw the lights and speakers coming out of them,I did several double-takes!:)

Being Canadian, I do *like* the Canada Pavillion, but it doesn't really represent alot of Canada. For example, neither myself nor my husband have ever worn a lumberjack shirt?? LOL

I've always thought it would be the perfect spot to put a skating rink! Wouldn't it be cool to rent skates and skate in Disney World?

At the very least it would be fun to people watch during the Food & Wine!

:rotfl2::rotfl2: Oh the joy!

The Canada movie is probably the best in the WS. The scenery is amazing! Plus Canada pavilion gets a thumbs up :thumbsup2 in my book just because they gave us modern ice hockey and other than American football, hockey rules !:hyper:

I love the Canada. I live in the Detroit suburbs and work in Detroit with my office overlooking the Detroit River so I have a great view of Canada. I love Smarties and am always so happy when I can get them at Canada in WDW!

When we lived in Montana, we took a road trip to Vancouver Island and Victoria. We visited the Buchart Gardens. So when we go to WDW and visit "Canada" we love to go to the Victoria Gardens to remind us of our wonderful trip to Victoria. And I love the film, even though I get motion sick watching the 360 video.

We did that on our honeymoon and loved it! Some day we plan to go back.

We also love the Canada pavilion. And as another poster said, their shop is great.

Being Canadian my honest opinion of the WS pavilion is that it is a poor representation of what Canada really is and what it has to offer. There is way more to Canada then maple syrup and totem poles and I wish they would update it, I spoke with a Australian outside of Canada’s pavilion once and there where amazed that we did not live in igloos

There's no bar, you can't get into the restaurant unless you reserve in the previous decade, and they serve Moosehead outside the restaurant and not Unibroue...Canada's not my favorite.

I heard they once had a Unibroue cart outside. They need to bring that back.

I used to like the Canada Pavilion ok - seemed like there wasn't much there, but we always watched the Martin Short movie. BUT, when my husband and I went on a no-kids anniversary trip to Epcot, we went to watch the movie. There was still 15 minutes and we were the only 2 people waiting. There were 2 cast members there - 2 college age girls. My husband is a talker - so he walked over to them and said "Hi ladies! How are things in the great state of Canada!!" Obviously he was playing around with them and he knows Canada is not a state, but they tore into him and proceeded to chew him out and tell him that Canada is NOT a state and NOT a part of the US and so on and so on. He finally told them to chill out and take a break and we left without seeing the movie or anything else in there. Haven't been back to the Canada pavilion.

So you still have no clue as to just how incredibly insulting your husband's comment was?? If I'd been there I would have torn him a new one. That comment isn't funny- it shows disrespect and ignorance all at the same time.

We love the Canada Pavilion. We always walk through the shop, we have seen the show.

We also have yearly pictures we take there. In December we really enjoyed the Holiday storyteller. We also like the band next to it. We use to eat at Le Cellier every visit.

We enjoy World Showcase. We visit all the countries.

:goodvibes

This is one of my favorite spots to sneak off to and spend a few minutes relaxing and cooling off!

Now, if there was just a walk-up cart where I could get some cheddar cheese soup and pretzel bread to-go, it would be perfect! :thumbsup2

I think its one of the most beautiful pavillions. For us though, there just isn't enough there. I would love some more shops. It just seems kind of under-utilized.

We LOVE Canada. My kids always want to spend extra time in the shop and we HAVE to watch the movie every time. My dh and ds go to Canada hunting every year, so they get a bit of their "Canada fix" in Epcot before their trip. DS11 even chose this year's Mickey Ears in Canada during our trip a couple of weeks ago:

We like it. We always have a meal here, go round the back for a few pictures, sit on the benches for a while and visit the shoppe.
