Photos of Guest Decorated Windows

June 2012 Mother Daughter trip at Port Orleans French Quarter!

We hung the papers from hole punches with string from hooks suctioned to the window. It was difficult to keep the suction cups suctioned to the window, especially because we found that the windows were NOT cleaned very well! :scared: By using towels and water, we could get some smears off, and it worked pretty well.

I LOVE IT!! It turned out super cool!! I hope you both had a ton of fun doing it!! Can't wait till our next trip to decorate!

Thank you!! It was a lot of fun putting it all together! A great way to make the days go by quicker before the trip! ;)

Love this! Where did you find the decorations? Or did you make them?

Have all mine ready to assemble for our Christmas themed window. Now, if only our trip would get here :) 95 days and counting...for the time being love seeing everyone's pictures

These are all fabulous! Thanks for the inspiration. We will be staying around Halloween, so I am going to see what I can come up with.

What a cool idea!! We are only staying a couple of nights at the Beach Club....but we might have to do this! Does the Beach Club allow window decorations?

Thanks, Jen

We are going to POR Feb 2013 and I've decide upon a Mardi Gras theme since we are going that week. Found some Mardi Gras beads on sale today at Michael's to decorate the windows with. I've been trying to find some non-seasonal Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, and Donald window clings but can't find any. All I see is Halloween, Easter, Christmas and Valentines. Anybody know where I might find some. I've already searched online and can only find non-seasonal in wall clings and I don't want to have to put them on the outside of the windows. Also I found some Mardi Gras color lights on Amazon. The string is green, would rather it were white but may order them anyway. I can't wait to decorate my window and my DH thinks it's odd.

That sounds like a great plan!! Tell DH it's just a part of the experience. I havent told mine that I will be decorating our window. I will probably just do it and not tell him about it. He would definitely think it was odd too.

Mine thought I was nuts too. Too bad. I already have things gathered to decorate our window again this year. I love walking up to our room and seeing the Christmas lights glowing!

Check the dollar tree (or dollar store, I always get those two confused). They had some over by the crafting and office supplies aisle last I saw. Good luck!!

Does anyone know how far the outlet is from the window at POR. I'm thinking of getting a small string of lights and was wondering how long of an extention cord will I need or if I need one at all.

If you were content with just purple lights...you can buy a strand at Hobby Lobby right now in the Halloween section :-) not sure how much the ones on amazon are but Hobby Lobby also sells just a Green strand....maybe its cheaper to intertwine the purple and green :-) as for Non-Holiday clings...have you thought of just making your own? You can buy window clings stuff for the printer and print your own :-) :-)

I'll have to look into making my own window clings if I don't find any. Can you get that stuff at Hobby Lobby also? I have thought about intertwining the lights but was thinking it might make it too heavy for the suction cups to hold them up in the window. It probably is a cheaper option though.

I'm going today to return some stuff...I can check and report back ;-) I've heard that office depot/max sells them but I'm sure hobby lobby should. I live on the Texas/Louisiana border so we have Mardi GRAS dedicated stores here lol
