The Search For The Elusive Duffoofy Or Our Wacky Family Blowout!!

They do grow out of it. I remember on one family trip when I was in my mid twenties where my mom asked if I wanted to see Mickey and I kind of gave her a puzzled look. Suffice it to say, Mickey is one of 4 characters that I must see on every visit.

And even though I had a brief moment where I wasn't interested in seeing characters, I never outgrew loving the animated classics.

I remember going through the stage of thinking I was "too grown up" to visit with the characters. My oldest gets like that until she gets there.

We all love the animated classics. I especially love the old Donald Duck war propaganda ones.

My kids love the animated classics, and I am so happy. They will sit and watch the cartoons in any Disney hotel lobby, and if we happen to watch Disney Channel (sad to say we don't watch many shows on there anymore, as the kids don't like the "tween" shows and they are too old for most of the Disney Junior shows, though they will totally watch Little Einsteins if they see it is on). But they LOVE the 5 minute Mickey/Goofy/Pluto episodes that play between shows.

Same with mine even when they were 12 and 13 they would sit down in front of the TVs to watch in the lobby.

Awesome!! They are just fun!! I haven't watched the DL ones, but we saw the WDW ones and they are just so neat. My girls love them.

yay!!

Wow...I don't know if you can really handle that -- going to DL yet another time!!:joker::joker:

So excited for you!! :thumbsup2

Oh you should watch them. I love all of them, the kids really enjoyed them a lot when they were little.

Too bad for Snow White, but good for her getting a job!

And yay! Another trip. You don't even know how much I am craving a DL trip right now. I so badly want to live closer so I can get an AP and go more often! But for now I will live vicariously through you. :)

She was saying this morning that she doesn't want to stay alone in November. I am going to tell her that she can have a friend stay at the house while we are gone.

Bummer on Snow White staying home, but that is great she is being responsible and got a job and will be going to school. :goodvibes

How exciting you now have 2 trips to look forward to :cool1:

I'm glad it all worked out!

Thank you, Michelle so am I.

Kelly, to tell you the truth I have had the other trip for a while but it was going to be solo and I didn't want to post too much about it and make the kids upset.

It never ceases to amaze me that the smallest thing makes a difference. My mom is 75 years old. Her hearing isn't great because she punctured an ear drum years ago cleaning her ear with keys and bobby pins. There is a lesson here kids don't ever put anything but your elbow in your ear!! Her other ear became very clogged with wax and what little hearing she had was severely hampered by this. I took her to the Dr last week a routine visit, while we were there I was there as her ears. Yes, it is that bad. The Dr scheduled her to have her ear washed. So for three days we were putting mineral oil in her ear. They cleaned it out today and so far she is hearing better. Keep your fingers crossed that she continue to improve.

The other small thing is our cable box went out in our bedroom and WBG and I have been without noise in our room. What a shock it is to walk out of our quite little world into the rest of the house and it is bedlam.:scared1: I am enjoying the quiet in there and on the other hand I am missing the background noise of the TV. The cable guy is supposed to come out today. Yay!!!

I guess I will read. Too bad there isn't a Disneyland book I haven't read. Sigh. :rotfl:

Glad the cleaning helped her hearing. Too bad about the injury though. How is her balance?

Maybe you need to switch to some WDW books. The Kingdom Keepers series is pretty decent. It's written for age 10 and up, but I've found them pretty good even as a an adult.

Thank you. Her balance is actually pretty good strangely enough.

I read Kingdom Keepers. I enjoyed it. I tend to read the YA books because unlike a lot of women I know I am not into this 50 Shades of Grey book series. :confused3

It's good that your mom's hearing is better! Hopefully it stays that way for a while.

When we moved we decided not to put a tv in our room, and I am actually glad we did. I find I sleep better if I haven't already been laying in bed for hours watching tv.

Have you read that ebook, Sunrise to Sunrise or whatever it's called? I think it is mostly photos, but i really want to read it. It's about Disneyland on the One More Disney Day day.

I hope so to Andrea.

It is the quiet in the room that is getting to me. I miss the background white noise when I am in there.

I need to look for that for my Nook. Thank you for the suggestion Andrea.

Thats great. So glad her hearing is improving
Bummer on cable box

I would be so lost without mine

I need the noise too. I normally put on an episode of Roseanne or friends I have seen a hundred times, and close my eyes and listen til I drift off

:goodvibes

I finally have it so that it is loading and we have most of our channels. I am giving 24 hours from when it started before I call again. We are watching Nicole's favorite show Wipe Out.:rolleyes2

WBG and I went to the range to shoot today. I had never shot before. It was a lot of fun and we will be doing it again.

Ok, so it is weird that I am typing this to someone I don't know personally, but I recommend using hydrogen peroxide for ear cleaning. It will fizz and bubble, and if you tip your head and pour it in it will have a baking soda + vinegar type reaction. But you then tip your head the other way and it drains, and wow. Clean ears!!!

This message has been brought to you by the letters T, M, and I.

I use peroxide on my ears. My mom thinks I am nuts but I have clean ears.

Double Digits!!

It has been so long since I have been here I need to blow out the cobwebs and the dust!!

There has been a lot of stuff going on and I just haven't had the heart to plan. It is time to get back to some serious planning.

We are down one family member for the trip so far. :sad2: Snow White has decided that she shouldn't miss the school and that she would rather spend the time with her girlfriend. I am cool with that. Plus she is actively looking for a job, she just had an interview on Friday with Justice and has another with Costco on Tuesday. That is the one I am hoping she gets. It's a really good first job. It starts at $11 an hour and she is guaranteed 25 hours a week. As a full time student carrying 15 credits that should work for her.

So, now that I have dusted it off I will be back later to trip plan!!

Good Luck to Snow White on her Job interviews :thumbsup2

Hello friends,

I am seriously considering the possibility of cancelling this trip. Scotty is having health issues and I think that perhaps we would be best to stay at home. I don't have it in my heart to plan the trip right now. I will come back to it when I can.
