What do you mean I can't add more days?!

You would reallllllly hope someone, somewhere within the Disney Company who has any sense and power would be reading this and going :scared1: I mean for goodness sake, are they really rolling in the money to such an extent that they can afford to just say "naaaaaah we really don't want your money, go somewhere else" :confused3

I sent an email to let them know, as a stock holder, I do not appreciate the way the reservationists were recommending me spending money at other parks like Knott's Berry farm as an alternative to there being no more 6 day park hoppers. I also explained the amount of money my family usually spends and the cost and difficulty in travelling from Texas for our annual trips. With the distance travelled, a 6 day stay is a minumum and without the option of a 6day+ park hopper, we will be forced to take other vacations in the future.

The reply from Dinsey Guest Communications stated,
" We are concerned with the dissapointments you mentioned in your email. As you are aware, our goal is to provide the finest service and accomodations. Please be assured we do take our guest comments very seriously and take them into consideration when evaluating our operations. Your remarks have been shared with the appropriate leaders so they are aware of your experiences."

I think we all need to email our concerns. The more people who they see are impacted, they make a change.

I phoned directly today as I wanted to be sure of what I could expect when we go in Sept. We have a Southern California City Pass with a 3 day hopper. I had originally emailed them, hoping for an email response saying I could upgrade past 5 days.....and then I was going to print that out and bring it along as proof.....but alas, they wouldn't commit to anything in the email and told me to phone.

The lady on the phone said I could only upgrade to a 5 day hopper.....and she couldn't even tell me how much I would be credited.....I told her I would like to do 7-8 days.....she told me that isn't allowed....or I could buy an annual pass (which I told her would do us no good and we live in Canada....and plan on this being a once in a lifetime trip probably, therefore would like lots of days between the two parks). The next response I was given was I could either upgrade the City pass to the 5 day, then purchase 3 extra days....which I said is waaaaaay too much money ( I think it is something like $985 extra.....after we pay something like $320 to upgrade to a 5 day pass).....I was then told we could also consider spending time at another park or beach????? I said I was surprised that they didn't want my money (well I guess they do.....another $1300-ish.....yeah right). I will try to upgrade at the gates and see what I get told there.....hopefully, best case scenario with how others have reported doing it I pay the $320 ish to upgrade to a 5 day, and hopefully can add another day or two for the $5 that so many seem to be able to! Wish me luck! lol

To what Disney email address did you send your email?

I sent a message also, just a form reply saying to call. I'm not going to bother. Just going to try my luck when I get there on Wednesday. Coming all the way from Alberta canada. Hope it works out.

I will reply with my experience.

I emailed Disneyland a few days ago about this topic and here is the response I got along with my message:

First Day of Visit: 09/25/2012
Length Of Stay: 6

Our family is planning a 6 day Disneyland vacation. I noticed that you
now no longer offer 6- day park hoppers on you website. Is it possible
to add a day to 5 day park while at the park?

Very interesting. I sent petty much the same question. Asking about adding a day to a five day. I got the following reply, note it's from the same person (linda trump). There is a actually no reply to my question, just the "call us" response:

Well thats interesting, I always knew you get different info from different CMs, but I didn't realize you'd get different answers from the same CM!:rotfl:

Seriously though, maybe, hopefully it is something they are allowed to do "officially" now? I noticed yours is dates two days earlier? Just trying to find an explanation:confused3

Hey all!

Haven't had a chance to go through all 9 pages of posts, but we have found ourselves in the same situation. We're from Alberta, Canada and just went to the parks in May (took advantage of the 6 day park hopper before it ended). Now we are planning our next trip back with our kids and would like to go for at least 7 days to make it worth our travel time.
Just finished talking to a CM and she said that I would have to purchase a 5 day and a 2 day. No exceptions online or in the park. Zero chance to upgrade or to add days :( Makes me sad because we don't even have the option of purchasing an AP since we aren't US citizens. I really think hubby needs to transfer jobs to California NOW (isn't it funny how all roads lead to Disney?).

I'm even MORE confused now after just talking to a CM and seeing the two different letters posted yesterday from Lomky and interstate70s . It's a lot to gamble on- book hotels for extra days just on the off chance you might be able to add on hey?

Incidentally we have family in Australia and as some previous posts have mentioned, they have access to some great ticket offers. Send some of that sweet love up to the north! :D

Anyways. Good luck to you all, I hope someone has some, or policy changes. I understand why they did it, but people who just want to stay longer and paying big time for it. PS- I did leave my complaint/concerns when I called. For what it's worth.

From Alberta here too!!!! Going in Sept though. Let us know how you make out with this issue! Have a great trip!

Hey all!
Makes me sad because we don't even have the option of purchasing an AP since we aren't US citizens.

I don't think that's true, is it? The Deluxe and Premium APs are for any and all. Why would they care about citizenship? I've talked to ticket CMs on the phone about APs, and they never mentioned anything about residency or citizenship requirements.
In fact, the only time I've seen something like that, besides all the stuff for SoCal residents, is when I got a Disney email offering Canadians a deal on their cruise to Alaska, where they required one person in the party to present a Canadian passport at check-in to get the lower rate.
Anyone know anything about this?

I'm Canadian and I have an AP, I've had one in the past. We always have one person in the party with one who pays for all the food, hotel, and merchandise to save money. They don't care where you are from. We just can't get the SoCal ones.

So, has anyone been successful in adding to a five day hopper? We will arrive on Nov. 30th and try the ticket booth, but if not - we will hang out at the hotel I guess. I am not going to tell the kids we are going to parks on our arrival day - it will be a surprise if we can enter that Friday night.

I am headed there on October 6th. I too will try on arrival day. I have sent an email, but haven't received a response yet. I'm seriously keeping my fingers crossed! I'll post after I try and let everyone know the outcome.

I am From Victoria Canada and we come to california every year for 2-3 weeks and if this is Disney's new plan of only wanting people in the park for a max of 5 days then I guess this year will be our last. Last year we were at the park 13 days and the year before it was 7 days. Fortunately we have annual passes this year for our 2nd trip this year in September ( a gift from My mother) but next year I think it will have to be disney world or maybe we will now have to branch out to all inclusive in the Dominican or Mexico. Sorry Disney but I think you are loosing me as a regular customer.

We get there Wednesday afternoon, and we are going to try and get extra days added to our 5day PH right away. If unsuccessful we are not going to spend our first day at DL maybe we'll go to the beach or something.

I will report back here what happens.

Wish me luck! I would prefer to spend the evening in DL but I'm not wasting a full day ticket in an evening!

Hi All

We were there last week and I tried to add on to my 5 day hopper at the kiosk.
I was told by an experienced cast member that I couldnt do it and there are no more 6 day hoppers.
It wasnt a huge problem for us but might be for others.

We were at DLR last summer and were able to upgrade our 6 day hoppers to 7 days for only $5/ticket. We were hoping to do the same thing on our next visit Spring 2013. I noticed today that the 6 day hopper is no longer an option and am very discouraged to read here that the option of adding extra days at a ticket booth is gone as well. As a family who has to save up and travel far in order to enjoy a DLR vacation we only get to come every year or so and like to make the most of our stay. We also have small children so things take longer. 7 days was only just enough for us to do everything we wanted to do and we were in the park from open to close every day. I can't understand why, after adding an entire new land to DCA, Disney would then turn around and cut days from the ticket options. Makes no sense to me! Thinking that 2-3 days is enough time to see everything in two large parks - especially for families with kids - is very unrealistic! While I understand the problems caused by people scalping tickets I would hope that Disney is working to come up with a way to make longer stays available to those of us who use and enjoy them properly. Can't imagine being limited to only 5 days for the rest of my life!! ;) I too will be sending an email to Disney to let them know how we feel about this and will definitely be checking back to see how those of you going from now and into the near future are faring when trying to add days to those 5 day hoppers.

Copy and paste exactly what you posted here! I wish you luck! Maybe if enough of us keep bombarding them they will change their minds! I so hope to be able to add a couple more days......let us know what response you get!
