Will You Chill Out if I Sprinkle You With Pixie Dust? The End p136 *New TR Link* p138

First, read your Kidani trip report and it was awesome!! It is amazing to see the difference in your nephews as well as your son!! You and Denny look 100% as awesome as you did then!

We have had both standard views, pool views and savannah views, but usually it is so hot, we like to view the animals on the savannah from the viewing areas. I just love being plucked up and dropped feet first into the whole experience while there! It is truly a wonderful place!

Did you do the afternoon culinary tour at AKL? It takes you to Boma, where you meet a chef or two and get to sample a few things. They explain the menu, etc. You then get to go to Jiko, where they tell you about the foods they use, the menu and you get to taste some things there! It's free, fun, tasty and cool as it is indoors!! :thumbsup2: You don't have to be a guest at the resort to participate.

I'm happy to hear your brother and family were getting their Disney groove on now! Woo hoo, you even had a fast pass runner!!

Here's our redneck ride photo. We are in the back row on the left.

IMG_3378.jpg

The lady in the front cracks me up! :rotfl: She looks like she's trying to comfort the little boy across the aisle, but it's her who needs comforting!

The ToT dump shop is one of the few that tempts me...I always think about picking up one of those terrycloth robes.

I'm so glad that this day seems to be off to a much better start! I hope it continued throughout the day! :)

I love all the TOT photos! :thumbsup2 I can't ride that ride so I love seeing pics of that queue!

Nice picture of you and Denny and the boys.

Thanks for the shout out!

Great Update MaryEllen !!! I will never ride either of those thrill rides , BUT I would like to see the queue , I believe they have CHICKEN exits ??? I plan on doing some queues next time and taking the chicken exit !!!

DH was looking over my shoulder while I was reading this update. We both got a kick out of the lady holding her kids down too. She really does look the one that needs help.

RRC is DH's favorite ride, but TOT is mine. I'm glad everyone had a great time on these.

Do I see someone else carrying your camera bag? How did you get your son to do this?

Yay for rope drop!! :cheer2:

Love RnRC, hate to call any attraction my 'favorite' but it is definitely up there!

I too am cracking up over the lady in green in your ToT pic :lmao:

I love all of the ToT pictures!! It's nice to see the inside of the line. Yes, it's one of the only rides that I've never been on before. I also have no desire to go on this ride. I don't like the feeling of free falling. LOL! It's one of my worst things ever. I have a recurring dream that I'm driving in my car and come over the bridge and fall to the ground. LOL! So, I have absolutely no desire to do this ride!! LOL!!

We love RnR. It's been a favorite of ours for years!!

We love the Great Movie Ride!! It's one of our favorite places to spend an afternoon.

Can't wait to read more!!

You have truly outdone yourself with those ToT pictures, so fantastic!

Hooray for rope drop! They're getting into it finally :)

Those are two of my favorites. Score on the early FPs.

I seriously can't believe you're already on Day 5 of the trip! Seems like y'all just go there. :sad2:

I love, love, love RNRC!!! I mean....I would love to thank the genius who thought to combine 2 of my favorite things: roller coasters & Aerosmith.

I love all of your ToT pictures. They're lovely!

Those 2 little girls in front of y'all give me hope for Reid! That woman in the front row in the (I think) green shirt cracks me up! :rotfl2:

The dump shop at ToT is one of the best, IMHO. They always have some of the cutest items. Another good dump shop (again, IMHO) is the one at POTC.

Caught up but mega comments.

By the time we returned it was time for dinner. Our plan tonight was for Wolfgang Puck Express.

So we drove. It was packed. We ended up pretty far away from the Marketplace and once we got out of the car it dawned on me - I had no real idea where WPE was. I knew there was one near Cirque and the other was in the Marketplace, but where.

Of course, I picked the wrong direction. I think people where starting to get upset with me, but I remained undeterred and just kept walking until I found it.

I guess we have a whole club of those who can't find WPE. :lmao:
At least YOU didn't walk into a planter because you were starving. :rotfl2:

My entree. The salmon

62ff3113.jpg

It was excellent. Good choice. Just the right amount of food. Not too much. Not too little.

I should have gotten that !!! :lmao:

I think Nick got this - the alfredo with the peas that almost killed Poolrat Pat (she is allergic to peas)

e88c6c09.jpg

:rotfl2::rotfl2: The dreaded peas :scard:

My dessert

Somebody's creme brulee

mmmmmmm

Here is the wine glass I bought in December at AK. Wait - actually Denny gave it to me for Christmas. Love this!

IMG_3308.jpg

I love that wine glass and I think I actually had it in my hand on my last trip. Not a wine drinker but I could make some turtle crawls and drink those out of the special wonderful glass.

I left the Christmas shop and went to that store that sells sock and flip flops (I forget the name of it). They had some cute socks.

IMG_3318.jpg

Little Mismatched???? I think. :confused3

Next Stop....

IMG_3324.jpg

Oh Yeah Baby......

b5a7b76e.jpg

This is the grapefruit rita. I was yummy, and more importantly, well made (ie strong). Loved it! Good to the last drop and don't think I didn't slurp it right through that little straw!

Meant to mke it over there and didn't :sad2: Honestly cannot remember what stopped me- maybe too tired???

That needs to be rectified.

Here's our redneck ride photo. We are in the back row on the left.

IMG_3378.jpg

Love the woman in front :rotfl2:

I'm dying to know what exactly is IN the Sunset room????

IMG_3383.jpg

I always wonder that too and I may have given a tug on the door at one time.

Love It!!!

:woohoo: for making rope drop at HS!

I am so proud of your SIL for doing a great job getting FP for the family for an excellent time. What did that group do while you guys were getting your thrill on? I'm thinking, maybe Pirates again? :rotfl2:

Wow, on your local "amusement" park story- I can see why you swore off thrill rides for awhile. That is horrible. Is the salt and pepper shaker that ride that has a cage on each end of the arm?

I can't believe the line for RnR! Sounds like it went pretty quickly once the ride started loading though. I'm not sure that I have ever been in the stand-by for this attraction- either FP or SRL, so I loved seeing the pictures of the equipment.

Love the borrowed pictures of the RnR alley- going over to sub now!

I am :worship: at your pictures in the ToT queue. Really crisp and beautiful! I think this is the best themed line in Disney (sorry TSM).

I love your redneck ride photo. Every group is amusing. Too bad you don't know who the woman in green is so you could give her a copy of your picture. Hilarious!

Holy cannoli, Day 5 already?
Glad to hear everyone was up early, and without a fuss!
Great idea, you guys going to RnR and getting someone else to get the TSM fps! I wonder if I could con my cousin (eeyore04) into doing that on our DHS day... :rotfl2:
Great pics of the RnR line!! I was definitely getting in the mood. I want to ride this right now! Sept. 16 can not come fast enough!
I always put my camera away too early too. I sort of panic I think, and need to get it away and secure right away, even though I have plenty of time. I'd like to try to get some alley pics next trip. I'll make that a goal!
I think my jaw dropped while reading your amusement park story. :sad2: I would have screamed and cried and when I got off, punched someone. I don't blame you for having an aversion to thrill rides!
LOVE your pictures inside ToT! I was too nervous last time I rode to really appreciate the scenery.

First, read your Kidani trip report and it was awesome!! It is amazing to see the difference in your nephews as well as your son!! You and Denny look 100% as awesome as you did then!

Glad you enjoyed it. LJ was 9 during that trip and now he's 12, so big difference and Nick was 14 and now he's 17, so another big difference. The other two boys were my oldest son Brian and his friend. They mostly just hung out at the pool, the basketball court, and the fitness center. They showed up in the parks when it was time to eat. :rotfl:

We have had both standard views, pool views and savannah views, but usually it is so hot, we like to view the animals on the savannah from the viewing areas. I just love being plucked up and dropped feet first into the whole experience while there! It is truly a wonderful place!

It really is. It's very immersive. I especially love the music there. I am really torn as to where to stay next October - AKL vs SSR. I love them both, but they are both entirely different experiences.

NO, I have never done that, but it sounds like something that would be right up my alley. I love both of those restaurants and I love free tours. They are such hidden treasures. I will definitely need to check that out.

I'm happy to hear your brother and family were getting their Disney groove on now! Woo hoo, you even had a fast pass runner!!

They really started to get into today. I am positive that getting to the parks on time helped with that. That first hour is critical for summer enjoyment.

The lady in the front cracks me up! :rotfl: She looks like she's trying to comfort the little boy across the aisle, but it's her who needs comforting!

OMG - that's so funny I didn't even notice her until you guys all said something. She does look a mess, doesn't she? It reminds me of the first time I rode ToT. There was some lady in the front row who whimpered and cried through the whole entire ride - start to finish - from the second the doors closed until the time they opened. It was rather dramatic. :sad2:

The ToT dump shop is one of the few that tempts me...I always think about picking up one of those terrycloth robes.

:thumbsup2 That would be a cool souvie. I always see a ton of stuff I could buy on an impulse, but I take pictures instead. :rotfl2:

I'm so glad that this day seems to be off to a much better start! I hope it continued throughout the day! :)

Much better morning. Probably the best morning of the trip and it definitely continued throughout the day. Woo Hoo! :cool1:

I love all the TOT photos! :thumbsup2 I can't ride that ride so I love seeing pics of that queue!

The queue is sooooooooo cool. Probably my favorite of any Disney ride. You should just take a walkthrough on one of your trips. It's really worth seeing.

Nice picture of you and Denny and the boys.

Thank you! I'm glad we stopped for it because that's the only decent picture I have of ToT during this trip!

Thanks for the shout out!

You're welcome and thanks again to Caitlin for letting me borrow her pics! :goodvibes

Great Update MaryEllen !!! I will never ride either of those thrill rides , BUT I would like to see the queue , I believe they have CHICKEN exits ??? I plan on doing some queues next time and taking the chicken exit !!!

I know for sure that ToT has a chicken exit. I think its another elevator that just takes you down 1 floor. Not sure about RnR, but out of the two rides ToT really has the most impressive queue. Definitely worth seeing once. :thumbsup2

Woo hoo for rope drop! We do love our days at DHS! Your pictures, as always, are fabulous.

Someone may have gotten over their fear of thrill rides on the summer trip this year as well. :rolleyes1

Yeah! They made rope drop and your SIL knew how to use the FP machine! I have to psych myself to go on Roller coasters too and I do love them! Unfortunately, I have a slight case of motion sickness but a pretty brave 7 year old that needs an adult companion for them. So I take a half of Dramamine and go. I can only go once every so many hours. We haven't been on RnR because she is not tall enough... I think next time.

I just love your pictures! I really need to make a mental note to take pics of everything next month.....food, rides, trees, characters.....I want to document everything !!!! :)

DH was looking over my shoulder while I was reading this update. We both got a kick out of the lady holding her kids down too. She really does look the one that needs help.

She sure sat in the wrong seat to be any sort of restraint, didn't she? That picture is pretty comical. :lmao: And little did she know it was going to be on the DIS boards.

RRC is DH's favorite ride, but TOT is mine. I'm glad everyone had a great time on these.

I think I like RnR just a tad more because I like coasters more than drops. I love the first loops on RnR. Sooooo cool! :cool1:

Do I see someone else carrying your camera bag? How did you get your son to do this?

I think he felt sorry for me because I was a mess with my bags. I kept dropping things and reorganizing things. I guess he figured I might walk a little faster if I had some help. :flower3:

Yay for rope drop!!

Can you believe it? About time, right? :cheer2: And it made all the difference.

Love RnRC, hate to call any attraction my 'favorite' but it is definitely up there!

I definitely agree. It's a great coaster. There's nothing like cruising through the dark at warp speed with Aerosmith screaming in your ear. Gotta love it! :thumbsup2

I too am cracking up over the lady in green in your ToT pic :lmao:

That picture is pretty comical and I am shocked that I didn't even notice her at first. Too funny!

LOL!!

Glad you like the queue pictures. You really should take a walk through there someday and then just go out the alternative exit. It's pretty cool.

I hear ya on the free fall. I am not a fan of those straight free falls. This ride, fortuantely, is not like that. You drop, but then you go back up again. And the falls are mostly pretty short, plus there are great views of the park.

We love RnR. It's been a favorite of ours for years!!

:thumbsup2 It really IS a fun coaster!

We love the Great Movie Ride!! It's one of our favorite places to spend an afternoon.

Can't wait to read more!!

Well, stick around for my next update because I took a TON of pictures in GMR. That's why I ended the update. I have at least 50 pictures from in there. It's the first time I took a camera in there and came out with a lot of great non-flash photos!

You have truly outdone yourself with those ToT pictures, so fantastic!

Thanks Pam! I must have had my shutter speed settings set exactly right because I was surprised at how well those pictures turned out. Truly luck!

Hooray for rope drop! They're getting into it finally :)

I know, finally, right? They had such a better day getting up early at in the park by 9am. It really improved their experience 200%.

Those are two of my favorites. Score on the early FPs.

Can I just say that having someone getting the TSM FPs while we focused on RnR and ToT was perfect. Normally I can't get to all three rides in the morning when its crowded, but this was perfect!

I seriously can't believe you're already on Day 5 of the trip! Seems like y'all just go there.

I know, but no worries because I still have 5 more days to go before Denny and I get home! :cheer2:

I love, love, love RNRC!!! I mean....I would love to thank the genius who thought to combine 2 of my favorite things: roller coasters & Aerosmith.

Out of all the coasters I have ever been on RnR and EE definitely have the most interesting story lines and queues. The backstory really enhances the whole experience and I when I think of RnR I immediately hear Steven Tyler singing...er....I mean screaming, in my ear! :rotfl:

I love all of your ToT pictures. They're lovely!

Thank you! I am very pleased with the way they all turned out!!!! I must have been having a good camera moment.

Those 2 little girls in front of y'all give me hope for Reid! That woman in the front row in the (I think) green shirt cracks me up! :rotfl2:

Those little girls were freakin' adorable. They did great - and I told them exactly that at the end of the ride.

The women in the green shirt, that's a whole other story :faint:

The dump shop at ToT is one of the best, IMHO. They always have some of the cutest items. Another good dump shop (again, IMHO) is the one at POTC.

I totally agree. I love both of those dump shops. they just suck you right in. I love how the ToT shop just keeps that old hotel theme going right until the time you exit the door. Its awesome!

Caught up but mega comments.

I guess we have a whole club of those who can't find WPE. :lmao:
At least YOU didn't walk into a planter because you were starving. :rotfl2:

:lmao: I totally forgot about the planter incident! Thanks for cracking my up this morning. Not only did you have an allergic reactions to peas, but you probably had one heck of a bruise!

I
should have gotten that !!! :lmao:

It would have been a heck of a lot safer! Just sayin'

:rotfl2::rotfl2: The dreaded peas

I am SO glad I am not allergic to peas. total bummer!

Somebody's creme brulee

mmmmmmmm

I will definitely order that the next time I go to WPE! It's the clear winner in the dessert category!

I love that wine glass and I think I actually had it in my hand on my last trip. Not a wine drinker but I could make some turtle crawls and drink those out of the special wonderful glass.

Oh, I mix all kinds of things in that glass. Definitely not just for wine, IMHO!

Little Mismatched???? I think. :confused3

That's the name - thank - I knew someone would know it!

Meant to mke it over there and didn't :sad2: Honestly cannot remember what stopped me- maybe too tired???

That needs to be rectified.

It definitely needs to be rectified. October? The ritas in that place are totally yummy. No - they are not the Ditch, but they are a close runner up.

Love the woman in front :rotfl2:

I always wonder that too and I may have given a tug on the door at one time.

Oh I LOVE your pictures of the Tower of Terror! I think it has the greatest theming. When I've been in December the lines have been so short I haven't gotten as good of a look as I'd like (not that I'm complaining, really), so I love pictures of the old hotel. And yours are great. Thanks so much!

Today was Day 4 of my Brother’s family park ticket. The good news? Everyone was up early this morning. I’m not sure how that happened, but it did and far be it from me to question it.

I was totally prepared for my brother’s family NOT to like this park, but guess what? By now they were actually getting into the Disney groove and they loved it.

:eek::eek:

Did you buy a lottery ticket that morning?

I collected all the park tickets and gave them to my SIL so she could get TSM FPs for the group. Woo hoo – she was finally going to use the FP machine.

Always nice to have someone do that run for you.

I know that RnR is always busier than ToT,

Hmm...wonder why? :confused3:rotfl2:

so that was our logical first ride.

It took me a long time to overcome my fear and there are still rides I just won’t go on, but at least I can do RnR or ToT. About 15 years ago that would have been impossible.
So, you see, I still get nervous before thrill rides. And that is why I never seem to remember to take my camera out to get the best shots. Once I get into the back alley, all I want to do is calm my nerves.

I totally get that feeling. Good job overcoming your fear! :thumbsup2

Here's our redneck ride photo. We are in the back row on the left.

The others have already commented on the lady in front, so I'll just add a :lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:

Hadn't seen those figures in the windows. Cool!

So what did we do to kill time?

Up Next..... A Ride into the Movies

Wow, you must have been really bored. :rotfl:
