How is the food at CRT breakfast?

I'm considering skipping CRT this trip. We got in for breakfast at 8:30, and we have never been in the parks before they open, so we thought it might be nice.

We were hoping to skip the dining plan, so we'd be paying about $250 out of pocket for the meal.

I have gotten my husband to accept that meals at WDW can have inflated prices, but I think $250 is pushing it for a meal if the food is going to be not-very-good. (We've always done CRT on the dining plan, and always dinner.)

Is the food awful?

We did CRT for breakfast back in 2005 and have not done it in the 5 subsequent trips. My opinion of the food is not very high. If you are looking to get into the park before rope drop by doing an ADR, why not go for Crystal Palace? The food is more traditional American fare. If you want a princess experience, Akerhus in Epcot has better food in our opinions.

I acutally thought the food was fantastic and totally worth the price. We've eaten there for breakfast every time we go. Have a great trip!

DW and I and friends ate there in May 2012. It is nice but the food is not that great and we are not picky eaters.One of our freiends is a chef and she said it was ok too. We have eatten there 4 times and the menu has changes since we last ate there 4 years ago.

Wow, the allearsnet menus are really inaccurate lately! That isn't listed as an option there. I need to go check out the menus on Disney's website, I guess!

The menu changed recently so maybe Allears is behind.

We've eaten breakfast there a couple of times and have enjoyed it both times. Good food (I mean, scrambled eggs, right?) and they will bring you more at breakfast.

The Disney menu is updated. At least from the particular link I looked at while making online ADR's. I don't know about allears

We went two years ago for breakfast and were VERY disappointed. For 2 table service credits I was just expecting more from the meal. I understand that you are paying for the interaction with the princesses as well as eating in the castle, but I would NEVER pay $250 for CRT. When we went, we had free dining. I much preferred Akershus for a princess breakfast. I agree with a previous posting that if you want early entry into the parks, try Crystal Palace. The breakfast buffet is excellent. We go there every visit to Disney.

I ate there May 2012 and I don't recall steak on breakfast menu. I personally thought it was waste of 2 credits. I'd never pay out of pocket for it and I'm not a piocky eater. AS for refills on chow, I couldn't get our server to aknowedge our table exsisted once she dropped off food, no drink refills, nada and I don't recall it being family style this trip more of each person order what you want from limited menu.

Yes. It's been a long time (4 years) since I went so thankful I have sons so only did it once when we took our niece with us.

The food was lukewarm and I hate cold food. When I went they served pancakes. How is it possible to mess up pancakes?

Never again.

We ate at CRT for breakfast in 2011. I have heard that they changed the menu recently.

With that said, I would pay out of pocket and not use dining credits. That would be a pricey use of credits.

Breakfast is great at CRT, pricey, but great. The food is fresh and there is plenty of it. I asked for another side of bacon and I think they gave me a pound of bacon.

But with that said, I would skip it. You are paying for the experience. And if you have experienced it already, then choose another place for breakfast.

I personally thought the breakfast was good. Of course, I will only eat the eggs/bacon/sausage, but we've never had a bad meal here. However, my DH loves the DxDP so we can "afford" it a little easier on the dining plan. If DH had to pay OOP, he might decide that he doesn't care for CRT.

We recently spent one day at MK before our cruise and my DH decided he does not like paying OOP for meals.

I have read RAVE reviews since the new menu went into effect this summer. We are giving it a try.

The price does include BOTH picture and tip. For us, remembering that, plus seeing the new menu, put it into our must-do category for our trip in a couple of weeks. I can report back if you want. We plan to dine there for breakfast mid-August, if that helps.

p.s. I have noticed that All Ears is woefully behind on their menues and resort information lately. I have been noticing that for the last 6 months or so. Hope they get back on track soon!

Thanks for the info about recent reviews! We've been there many times for lunch and dinner but we were not terribly impressed with the food. Our oldest is out of her princess phase but still has strong sentimental feelings for the princesses. I can't decide if we should go or not. I can't even decide if we should do the dining plan. Usually I plan a trip for a full 12 months in advance, but I only got the green light for this trip in June, so I am so behind on planning, and I just can't make up my mind about anything!
