Turning This Night Around!!!
May 27, 2012
After Wishes ended we were still kind of running in 100 different directions. We had told Miranda and John that we were headed to Cosmic Rays for something to eat once the fireworks were over. So thats where we were headed.
I got a text from them saying that they had headed in that direction but werent feeling to food there so they went to look elsewhere.
We went to Cosmic Rays anyways because it was close. I wasnt a fan of it the last time we had eaten here and apparently it wasnt Brittanys favorite (she doesnt like Sonny Eclipse) either but we decided to at least check it out.
When we walked in Andy and I picked up a menu while Sam and Brittany went to use the restroom. I read the menu and nothing seemed appealing to me. The girls were in the bathroom for a while and I contemplated for what seemed like a lifetime to eat there or try and find someplace else.
We ended up sitting at a table and debating for a few (more like 10 or 15) whether we were going to eat there or not. I felt bad making everyone leave just because I didnt want to eat there. Luckily all Sam wanted was chicken fingers and the other two didnt care either way.
Decision made: we are leaving. But where would we head to now? Well lets just check out our iphone undercover tourist apps and see what we can find.
Decision made: we are now heading to Pinocchios Village Haus. This was the very first meal we had on our trip with Andy way back in 2009. First time we had used the Dinning Plan ever and they had the BEST chocolate cake (they must have switched suppliers because the cake they have now is not the same as it was way back then)
We walked over the restaurant themed for Sams favorite Disney characters. Now I face yet ANOTHER dilemma. What do I want to eat here?! Choices meatball sub or one of their new flat bread pizzas.
Sam and Brittany new exactly what they wanted to they were in the and out of the line looking for a table in no time. Me on ther other hand I was like ummmm meat ball sub. WAIT. No pizza. Ehhhhhhhh no sub but the pizza sounds so good. This was one of those moments when I am so glad Andy is never in a rush and just goes with the flow or else he would have been so mad at me. Luckily some old women line jumped us so I had a little extra time to make up my mind.
The cast member who took our order was SO NICE. When I got up to order I was set on meatball sub but then Caprese Flatbread just came out of my mouth. Ok stomach speaking your mind. I like it!!!
Andy got chicken nuggets (once again, what an adventurous eater we have on our hands) and I had to try the chocolate cake to see if it was the same as it was in 2009. It wasnt and hasnt been for some time but hey, cake is cake and Ill take it!!!
When we found Sam and Brittany they had gotten a table in the room that looks over Its A Small World. I got a text message from Bobby saying he was on his way into the park, he had gotten out of work just as the fireworks ended. He asked where we were and told us not to move.
Ok now for some delicious food pictures!!!
My pizza and Andys chicken nuggets
The Pizza was so goooooood. I have literally craved it at least twice a week since we got back from the trip. It was the perfect amount of sauce tomato and mozzarella. With the most delicious balsamic glaze drizzled on top and a hint of basil. Yum. It was a very big size too. I ended up eating all of it but one square.
I raved about it sitting at the table and one of the women sitting next to use heard me and said, would you recommend that? I debated getting it but didnt. I told her it was delicious and she should try it!!! She immediately went and ordered herself one. I think she liked it a lot too.
Andys chicken nuggets were, well just that. Chicken nuggets. Just like Sams She loves chicken nuggets and was glad that she finally got her hands on them once I made up my mind where to eat that night.
Brittany also got one of the new flatbreads (which I think had just been added to the menu earlier that month). She got the BBQ Chicken one
She was stuffed with two squares left.
Bobby showed up about halfway through our meal sat and began to tell us the story about his day/night at work. Halfway through he was like I am going to go get my own of the Caprese Pizza it looks good.
He got back to the table and told us all about how his manager was hating on him that night. He had found someone to extend to cover his shift but the manager denied it. The he was feeling sick from stressing out and said that he was ready to puke in the bathroom but they still wouldnt let him go. Then they ended up bumping him to the closing shift so he worked longer than he thought he was going to have to!!! He was upset and was just glad to be out of work.
So when we were all done eating vacuum Bobby took all the extras on our plates (about 4 chicken nuggets and three slices of pizza) and we were out the door feeling much better with food in our empty bellies.
Miranda texted me saying that they had finished at Pecos Bills and were getting in line for BTMRR.
While we waited we headed over to let our full tummies settle at Mickeys Philharmagic
I promised myself this time I wouldnt cry. Last time we were here in March my eyes were all red and were not going to tolerate a 3D movie. Round two, hope it goes better
We were in a happy peppy mood once again!!! Yay Disney. Here we go getting pumped. 3am here we come (I think at this point it was about 11pm or so)
Bobby had us stop to take a picture with our poster!!! We are The Three Caballeros and have the shirts to prove it (more on that on day 2)
After that Miranda and John had gotten in line for something else so we decided to head over to Tomorrowland and wait for them there. We took the pathway back through the Fantasyland expansion and it was a much different experience at night. Less crowded and claustrophobic. Phew. I actually really enjoyed the walk. But we were sad that The Great Goofini was closed by now. Andy was really looking forward to it.
We decided to take a pit stop and wait for the other two to walk over from Frontierland
What time is it? And we are trying to stay here until when?!
Andy was getting sleepy and I was being childish
Point proven
When they didnt show up we got concerned and then we lost Bobby. Oh man. This was certainly a night to say the least. Kepping tabs on so many people is not a fun task.
So Bobby ended up going over to a friend in Tomorrowland who gave him fastpasses for Space Mountain and a few fastpasses for any ride of our choice. Cool, I love having cast member friends!!!
Once we found EVERYONE we headed over to Space Mountain.
This picture does a pretty good job of showing you all just exactly how we were feeling. Me a 5 year old playing hide and seek, Andy being sleepy and Bobby being Bobby
We waited about three years at the entrance of Tomorrowland for Bobby and John to talk to one of their friends. We assumed they were getting something from her but didnt know what.
I spent the time talking with Miranda about how he liked working so far (she works QSFB at a two places in MGM). She told me all about her roommates and training and then all of a sudden John and Bobby disappeared in the other direction. What the heck?! So we decided to move on in the direction of Adventureland.
Just as we made it over the bridge Bobby called me asking where we were. OH MY GOODNESS BOY, stay with the group or dont. Make up your mind haha. We pulled over just outside the Dole Whip stand to wait for them to catch up
Turns out they thought we had walked away a lot sooner than we did so when they didnt see us waiting for them anymore they went to Aunite Gravities to get coffee floats.
We all decided that the bes thing for us to do next was head over to
I am not a fan. This ride scares me to death. The line was non existent and when we had a good time slowly strolling through. At one point Bobby got ahead of us and hid in one of the dark corners and jumped out. I screamed SO loud. It was nice to be in that Disney loving mood again. Friends and fun, thats what Disney is all about!!!
When we finally got to the front of the line they told us to go to the next boat and pick any row. We had a boat entirely to ourselves. COOL BRO!!!
We looked for the guys standing on the porch that I have seen twice in all my trips, he wasnt out, we talked about George and I started to panic. Bobby started telling me secrets about the ride. The only one I remember now is that the cast member who either lent his face or worked on the pirate with his leg hanging over the bridge actually shaved his leg and put his real leg hair into the pirate. That part has always grossed me out and now it will do so even more now, thanks Bobby!!! Haha
From there we headed over to Splash Mountain. We made it all the way to the nice air-conditioned tunnel when they announced some not so great news the ride was on 101 or broken down (which as of recently it has a tendency to do A LOT according to a girl I went to school with who works there now). They told us that they were working on fixing it and that they didnt know how long it would be but we were welcome to stay in line. We did. We figured we made it this far
I took some surrounding shots (most of which did not turn out because it was so dark). These poor people were literally trapped in their boats. They couldnt get out.
This was about after 10 or 15 minutes
Then we passed the 20 minute mark, long day at work taking its toll on Bobby
The cast members in the control booth diligently working to fix the ride, or just pretending to do so so that they dont have to stay until 3 am? Haha
We started dancing while we waited and the girls did some ballet excerisises to show off their dancer calves
Eventually they told us that the ride was broken beyond repair for the night and that they would have to evacuate everyone. Except the people in the logs beucase they couldnt get them to unlock. Poor people
So Splash Mountain was a no go but we had the park for about 2 more hours!!! What should we do next guys?!
Tune In Next Time!!!
