Fall 2012=Fast moving Friends, Food, Frights, Firsts and Fun with only Females!

Sorry to hear that you both have been experiencing flight drama!!! Great work on your gift card deal!! :cool1:

Flights are always a pain for me... cause I am CHEAP! :rotfl:

The gift cards... while I didn't do as good as Betsy... it was enough to give me a bit of a high.

Thank you! I'm going to try my hardest! :goodvibes

Just hang in there. I did my run today and even though I went into it with a great amount of trepidation... I did it!!! Not only did I do it, but I made it to the end of my run segment and didn't feel like I was going to die. :woohoo:

SWW is over, so playing catch up on all I missed.

Sounds like you are really in the swing of things with running. Congrats on making it to the end of your run segment without feeling like you were going to die. I'm so proud of you and your ambition and discipline!

It's always a good thing when you finish & don't feel like you're about to pass out. :rotfl:

I restarted week 4 last night. My stomach wasn't feeling great but I decided just to get out there & do it. I went extra slow but was able to finish. I'm going to try to push myself a little harder (but not too much) tomorrow night when I do day 2 of week 4.

Thank you so much. I think I am a bit ambitious with this. After all... I have diabetic issues.. heart issues. :rotfl2: Doc said I was fine to try though. Honestly though, I am not sure she took me seriously.

Just out of curiosity... does your week 4 day two have you going 3 minutes run then 2 minutes walk then 5 minutes run then 3 minutes walk (repeating that) and then 3 r. + 2 w? That was a big week for me. Just the week before was only 2.5 minutes top running.

I had to laugh as I looked at my run for tomorrow.... I ran day 2 of this week already. It is good that day 1 and day 2 are the same... I am glad I caught it though cause that would have given me one less day. I hope to survive it a second time so I can move on. Next thursday is 30 minutes straight running. then if I can do that... I am gong to do the final run (on saturday) on the 5k course in town. It has a tad bit of a hill... so it kinda scares me to just sign up without doing first.

Last week, during week 3, I had run 3 min, walk 2, run 90 sec, walk 2 min & repeat. This week, week 4, I have 1 interval of run 4 min, walk 2, run 6, walk 3, run 4 & walk 2. Week 4 is proving to be the 1st week to really challenge me. I had to take my pace way down so that I wouldn't collapse.

30 minutes straight? I can't even fathom at this point being able to do that. That is so exciting that you'll be doing your final run! :yay: I'm sure you'll do great with it! :thumbsup2

YAY for the gift card score!

I know! I only wish that I was as good as Betsy. On top of free dinning she basically got 20% off her room. (she bought 1k in gift cards and only paid like 800) There is a store locally that is doing $20 back when you buy $100... but in the notes it clearly states you then can not turn around and use it for a gift card. It might be worth giving it a try just to see though... but I doubt it would work. In the end.. I still think the $50 extra I got for buying $600 is nothing to be unhappy about.

I sounds like you are where I was a few weeks back. Seriously is surprising how you go from running a few minutes to running 20..30...etc. I remember a few weeks ago I was so amazed that I was running half way around my neighborhood (it is a loop that is about .4 a mile around) I never would have though I could run that far. (well, obviously I hope to run that far and then some since I am signed up for the 10 milers... but you know what I mean) Now I run round and round. I think today was 4 times around straight. Isn't that crazy? So... be prepared... a few weeks from now you will be doing this to!!!

Today's run was actually kinda funny. I started my "5 minute warm up walk" Then it said to run. About 5 minutes later it said "slow down and walk". I knew that could not be right so I slowed and saw that it was set at week 5 day 1. On the fly...while running I had to switch it to the week 7 day 1 (remember I did day 2 on tuesday) Then I had to calculate. Hmmm.. so I did the 5 minute walk already and ran 5 already..so if I run through the warm up that takes me to 10 minutes of running. Ok..so when it tells me that I am to "start" running I will be half way and then I can do my cool down when it says I reached have way. It was a bit confusing to me.. but I am pretty sure that I didn't run or add more than a minute or two at most to the "total time" as I slide the slide bar over to the correct day. I also slowed to look to see what was up. Even with all this... I ran farther today than tuesday..so :woohoo: Now for Saturday... :scared:

I can't even imagine being able to run that much any time soon. I think, for me, I get hung up on my pace. That's where I get discouraged. I'll finish up the night's workout, get home & look at my paces. I feel so defeated when I see how slow I am. Ed keeps trying to tell me that pace doesn't matter right now. But, I feel like if I'm already this slow, I'm just going to have slow down even more when more running time is added. :sad2:

That's funny! :rotfl: At least you realized fairly early on that you were on the wrong week & day. I'm sure you're going to do great on Saturday! :thumbsup2

UPDATE - As of 8/3, it does not look as though we will stay at a hotel the night of the 24th. Just to gain an hour (at best) of sleep just doesn't seem worth it.

I just realized I haven't been doing much in the way of planning for this trip. I think a lot of it has to do with planning the other trip... but also I was watching airfare and waiting to post anything until I decided on a couple things. Why? I could just tell share that I changed my mind. It isn't like that never happens :rolleyes1

In any case, I was waiting to see if airfare would go down on 10/5 so I could push out trip out one day. I saw it go down several times, but I always noticed when it was late at night and I couldn't really call to do anything about it. See, if it went down I was going to call and book a night on the front end at AoA. DV had a discount (that expired yesterday :headache:) That would have made it affordable to just do a room only that first night. In fact, I do like this plan since we won't need the dp or tickets anyway that first night. (assuming that Kira and Amanda do not fly a red eye on 9/24 - and yes, we are reevaluating that ) So I might find a way to do that still.. for now though....

Day 1 - 9/24

I know, 9/24? Well, since we are flying so early it kinda makes sense to stay at a hotel that is near the airport with a shuttle. Otherwise, we would have to leave the house at 3:15am. Getting a ride at that time is more the issue that us getting up. We will still have to get up early but not needing to have everyone loaded up at 3:00 am is a plus. More importantly not making grumpy men get up to drive us to the air port will be PRICELESS.

Since this is a tuesday during a week that I always work and since I get 0 vacation time, I will have to spend the day scrambling to get my work done. It will be a crazy couple days with work since I will have to get most everything needed to be done for the week done by tuesday night.

Once I am home, we will load up the SUV and hopefully both Steve and Josh will drive us to our hotel for the night.

The first one, we have used before for a shuttle and will be using it in a few weeks. It is a nice enough hotel and I was impressed by the shuttle last time. If the price is right and the shuttle works out well in July, this will be my first choice.

The second one, we also have stayed before. The room is bigger and it has a nice evening reception as well as a cook to order breakfast in the morning (that of course we would not be using due to the early flight) However, if the price is right the evening reception may be worth staying here.

Obviously I still need to book a room for the night.

Maybe we will all go to dinner together before the guys head back home. If Amanda and Kira are with Zoe and I, I think this is more likely. Josh and Kira are still pretty glued to the hip... and I am sure they will want to spend the last moments they can together. If it is Steve dropping Zoe and I off, I am not sure he will stick around. It might be a "see ya" :rotfl2: It will all depend on how he is feeling.

Regardless of who sticks around, I will have to eat dinner. Since we will be eating so much good food at WDW though, I don't think I will feel the need to make too serious of plans. Maybe something light, in the room.

After a few hectic days with work, I will be pretty tired and we will still have to be out the door to the shuttle by about 4:15am, so I doubt we will stay up late. It will be an early bed time and hopefully we won't be too excited and will be able to soon fall asleep.

Hope you can get the price you want for airfare. It's so ridiculous! :headache:

Both hotels sound like good choices. And that's nice that they do shuttles to the airport.

A lot of hotels near Seatac (or in that vicinity) do shuttles. It does make it nice. :goodvibes

As for airfrare, I watch as one day it is up and the next it is down. I was pretty excited the last few days because the day that we currently are booked till is way cheaper. I was hoping that other dates would begin to reflect that same price drop... but no... things are back up. :confused3

We had decided to try driving for the 1st time ever this year. But, I've still been watching airfare just to see what it was like. When I saw Southwest had a sale going on this week, I wen to check it out. I could get our flights for about $300 cheaper than what they had been. :woohoo: Talked to Ed when he got home, hopped online to show him & BAM! the prices were back to normal. :confused3 I hate airlines. :headache:

That happened one day with Kira too... we were just about to book her flight down and poof.. it changed. It is crazy. I agree... I hate airlines!

Airfare and Ann....:scared1:

I know, right? I am sure it is going to go down... I mean... could it really be nearly triple to what it was last year? :confused3

I was messing around with Christmas flights and mine were just about where they were last year at this time...

I hope the airfare prices get better for you! Flights always seem to be one of the more annoying aspects of planning a trip!

:confused3 The flight I want is about $270... for december it was about $100. I keep hoping it will go down, but I think I am either going to have to pay the extra money I don't want to for the flight that I want or leave at the time I don't want and pay what I want.

Thank you. :goodvibes I think what makes it so frustrating or annoying is just how unpredictable it is. From one time in the day to another time the price can vary... it is maddening.
