Joining in! Another Sept traveler here, but our dates just miss yours...Sept 18-25th.
Just went to the Disney page and saw I'm 98 days out to Room #2 arriving.
Which means Ann and Room #1 is way under 100 days as well. I think they arrive 3 days before us.
Quickest countdown to double digits ever in the fact that I missed it!
Double Digits already....
It's great to be in the double digits
I hope your airfare prices get to where you want them!
I just realized that you MUST be in double digits! Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!
I saw a bunch of notifications come through on my thread here and thought I should come find out what all was being said.
I missed hitting double digits?
Life has been crazy lately. I will post an update next with the non usual...working and cleaning all the time stuff.
Yesterday was a day for doctors. Both Zoe and I had appointments. She with her specialist and me with my primary.
Zoe needed to be seen because her mitrofinoff channel did not seem to be working quite right. For those who have not followed along, Zoe had her mit placed almost exactly a year ago. The summer was full of hospital stays and recovery. She couldn't do a whole lot. Then it would heal a bit...and infection and or malfunction would cause a set back. Just days before we were set to fly in December we almost had to cancel due to a complication. The first couple of months this year she had to undergo a few procedures to help make things work better. Well, one thing we were told was the kids will eventually get a bit defiant in regards to using their mit. I didnt think she would, but she did. As she did, it became more painful to use. As it became more painful to use, she refused it even more. (think, ear piercing and how some people are prone to having those, essentially small channels, close up) So we were in for a check.
The doctor believes too much scar tissue has now formed and her mit needs to be removed from where it was placed (within her belly button so that it is not visable to the naked eye) to a different, much more noticeable part of her abdomen. While this surgery will be no where near as involved as the one last June, it will still require about a week stay in the hospital. So she is scheduled for that surgery... but since I don't want to spend another summer with her in hospital and recovering... we are trying some non surgical tricks. This is night two applying said "trick" We saw a big difference after just one night. If after 3 weeks we are in a good place, the doctors will allow us to cancel surgery. So cross your fingers for us please.
I needed to go in to my primary meanwhile for two reasons.
A little over a year ago I was tested positive with a rare type of abnormal pap. Usually, testing positive for this is indicative of cancer. However when I had a million and one biopsies taken all came back clear. However, I was suppose to be rechecked often and have not done so since having the biopsies. So.. had to have a recheck. I have no idea when results will be in. So please keep your fingers crossed here too.
The next reason was because I have been having tummy issues for now more than 3 weeks. I have been training to run the ToT 10 miler in September. I also take an insulin regulating medication. I suspected that the increase in physical activity and the larger dose that I had been put on last fall were making me ill. Sure enough, the doc thinks so too. I thought she would just lessen my dose, but nooo... she wants me to completely tapper off, cut my carbs and RUN. Then in a few months we will run blood tests to see how all of this is managing my sugars. It scares me to go off my medication. But... I am not sure how I can keep myself hydrated enough to continue training if I don't get better soon. I also am such a fan of soooo many carbs. It will really suck to have to actually watch them...rather than just take my medicine. My doc has faith that I can manage my sugars just with diet and exercise. I hope she is right. So yall have another couple fingers left that you can cross?
I know... but I promise I will figure it out without too much stress
So glad you joined. I have been neglecting this thread a bit... in fact I dont' know if I have posted any real plans yet. However, it is good to have you along. Are you staying at POFQ or POR in September?
OMG!!! I can't believe I was oblivious
It is! Congrats to you too!
They are bouncing all over the place... I may go mad just trying to time when to buy the darn things.
Glad you and Betsy are able to keep better track than I am!!! Good grief I am so out of touch with things.
When I saw the first posts about your double digits coming in I started adding the days until your trip to mine and voila ..... I realized we both are in double digits!
and btw .... I commented on your update on your other thread!
Yay for double digits!!!
and thank you for your kind words!!!
I will be keeping all of my fingers and toes crossed for you and Zoe, Ann! I hope the next few weeks go great for you all!!
On a lighter note, yay for double digits!!!!
Thank you so much!
We'll be staying at POFQ...first time!!!
When Kris and I went to DL in 2009 we both really liked Mimi's. We did not care for Millie's which was in the parking lot of the hotel we stayed in. So glad Zach is going!
Yes, but Zach is not going on this trip.
I may actually make a change to the Mimi's plan. I purchased the photopass + and since you get the photos at the character meals (most..not all are participating) I figured if we get to our hotel soon enough... we may have brunch at Goofy's. I have to trade the voucher in and rather than do it during park time I figure I would go and do it at Goofy's. So either I am going to walk there just to trade in my voucher or we will eat there. Either way, I will be making my way to the Disneyland Hotel.
I'm still here, and I'm keeping EVERYTHING crossed that the "trick" works and Zoe won't need surgery.
Oh my goodness Ann, I really hope this trick with Zoe will work. The last thing you guys need is another surgery. And Zoe does really deserve a break from all this stuff. Will keep my fingers, toes and everything else crossed. Also will be sending good vibes your way.
Will also do the same for you. Fingers crossed for normal results.
That would be great if your body could regulate itself through diet and exercise. The hardest part is giving up those wonderful carbs I try to keep my carb intake low and when I eat carbs it is the good carbs. When I do this I notice huge differences and feel so much better. So fingers crossed it works for you and you start feeling better soon.
Shoot I posted that under the wrong PTR report for you. Oh well at least you knew what I was talking about. Yeah for testing out PP+ so we can see if we should do it in the Fall!
