Trip #8; But Was It Great? A WDW MAYcation with a side of LegoLand & Celebration, FL!

Well as a vacationer who always seems to get on that late night flight- I feel your pain! But I do always like the fact that I wake up in the world ready to go the next day. ;)

We talked throughout the day while you were waiting and then traveling and boarding DME... And believe me it was just as long being here waiting for news. :rotfl:

The Pics of an empty BC are beautiful. I've never been over there so next trip maybe I'll do a casual walk thru.

Yes a walk thru.

:rotfl:

Glad the concert went ok, but sheesh you'd think if they were going to do it they'd at least make it so everyone could see their kid. How dumb.

I don't know how you do it!! Maybe we would have had a better next day, had we gotten any sleep that night. But that part is coming.....

I think it was a long painful day for everyone involved.

Yeah, you should do a walk thru over there in Dec. I bet the Christmas decorations at the BC, YC, and BWI are wonderful. :santa:

His last 2 concerts have been like that where we haven't even been able to see him. Makes me mad!!

So my little pep talk about having a late flight didn't work. ;) But you were supposed to sleep in, not get up at 4 a.m.! So I can't be held responsible for your bad mood.

Too funny about y'all going broke before you even left the airport! Your DS10looks sooo ready to get going in that pic.

I'll tell you what would have put me in a bad mood........."Ladies and gentlemen, we are having some computer problems." :scared1: I get ticked off when my laptop is wacky, but computer problems with the plane I am about to get inside, where every system is controlled by computers....oh, Lord! :faint: I don't know if I could have gotten on the plane. I am a white-knuckle flier.

I bet it was strange to be on the ME in the dark. I wouldn't have liked that either. I love seeing everywhere we're passing, even going to other resorts before our own.

Well, at least check-in was easy. That should have been a good sign, right? :worried:

Looking forward to more, especially the good times! I love how you include so many pics. :thumbsup2

Shelly - Oh my i feel so horrible for your wait on the day you were leaving. Must have been torture for all 4 of you. But i bet seeing that ME section in the airport just bought a smile to your face. I always get the butterflies in my stomach when i see the ME section. It's like knowing yes you are here you made it once again..... :)

Can't wait to hear more..... ;)

Sheree, I was thinking the exact same thing...my family would have spent the day packing! But Shelly is much more organized than I am.

Love the picture of the boys on the ME bus! And you two, too! :goodvibes

Eh, kind of a cruddy start to your trip, huh? I also am NOT a fan of late arrivals. It's much better getting there and having your whole day in front of you. I hope it gets better Shelly!

I feel your pain with the night flight. We had a late flight coming home, which I spent the trip dreading, and it ended up being a nightmare. Never again !!

Joining in. I have read some of your previous TR. I also feel you pain. When i went down for my trip in December we had a late flight. Pure torture. :( The night before was my college graduation and i had to sit and wait all night and day to go to the airport the next day.

It wouldn't have been so bad to have a late arrival if you had left on Friday after work/school, but to WASTE a whole Saturday waiting around is just awful!!

1600 pictures, huh? Gosh, we took just a few hundred more than that on our 2 week Europe trip! Granted, I didn't take a picture of EVERY meal, only the DLP ones!

I had all intentions of sleeping in that day. I really did! I was expecting us to get to WDW all rested and happy and ready to go. But it just didn't work out that way at all. :sad2:

We were already on the plane when they made that little announcement. Already buckled in and backed away from the gate. :scared1: I thought for sure it was going to go on longer than it did. Even that long was torture after waiting all dang day to leave!

Lots more to come and lots more pics! :)

It was pretty painful!! I just wanted to get going. :hyper:

I LOVE seeing the ME part of the airport. The kids pretty much know the way there and we just follow behind them!! Especially love it when it is empty!

See what being organized gets me -- a long day of waiting!! :scared1::rotfl:

It was a cruddy start! :( It does get better, but not for a few days.

Welcome! :goodvibes I hope you will enjoy the TR. Feel free to post anytime!

Oh I bet that was rough waiting all night and the next day after your graduation. :faint:

Exactly. A whole Saturday wasted was awful. That's all I could think of was how the day was wasted. :furious:

Wow you took a lot of pics too!! :yay: I did take pics of every meal of course. :upsidedow

That sounds like a crummy start to a vacation! I hate evening flights too. Our last evening flight to WDW was in 2006, and I vowed after that to always take an early morning flight. Our flight in August is at 6:30 AM, which means getting up super early, but more time in WDW!:thumbsup2

Looking forward to the trip getting better!:goodvibes

subscribing - we are planning our 7th trip and first to BC so interested to hear what you think of your trip.

Welcome! :goodvibes How exciting for your 7th trip!! Our 7th was probably our best ever. Guess it really is a lucky number! pixiedust:

It was a crummy start. :( Evening flights stink!! I will always take an early flight if I have the option.

What are your August dates?

Our August dates are the 26th to the 31st. They may change (you know me!), but I am pretty positive about keeping those days!

After we got all checked in we headed up to our room. We knew we were on the 4th floor, but didn't know what our view would be. I had read that a standard room view at the BC could be of the parking lot or a rooftop, so I had paid about $60 more for the entire week to get a 'garden view'.

We noticed right away that our room was kind of small and didn't have a couch/daybed. So that was disappointing. :( I headed right for the balcony to see what our view would be. We had been down about 4 hallways to get to our room so I was pretty turned around at this point and not even sure what direction our balcony would be facing. To my surprise we had an awesome view!! :cool1: We were facing some gardens and the sand volleyball court and towards the SAB pool. We couldn't see the pool from there but we could see the YC, the Swan, the Dolphin, and even the TOT in the far distance to the far left.

So while we were very happy with our view and the fact that we had a balcony, we knew right away that we were not in love with the BC room. It just seemed small and lacking compared to the rooms we had at the BWI and the Poly. And it didn't feel very clean. By the next morning in the light of day we could tell it had been a good long time since that room had a decent cleaning.

Up Next: Off to Epcot!

I thought it must be close to when we went last year. You will love it, it's practically empty that time of year!! :goodvibes

I'm so excited!:cool1: We have been at the end of August before, and the crowds were very low. I remember your TR last year...you certainly did have low crowds. Hope that's the case for us!

Your room view looks great, but that's a bummer about the day bed. I know that with my family we DEFINITELY need a day bed. I would have been very disappointed not to have one!

You will have a great time!! :cool1:

The view was awesome! :goodvibes Too bad the room was missing a daybed. To us, that is one of the perks of a deluxe room. That and a balcony. And considering a lot of rooms at the BC have those tiny standing only balconies I guess we were lucky to get a normal size one. Although it was much smaller than the ones we had at the BWI and the Poly. Too much is up to chance at the BC, I don't think we will ever be back. I see you are headed back to the BWI! :) We spent quite a bit of time over there during our last few days to get away from the noisiness & chaos at the BC.

Yes, it's back to the BWI for us! We just love it there. We will be at the GF in November. I love switching between the MK area and Epcot area resorts.:cloud9:
