We'll be staying at BLT for the first time this Tues-Thurs (pre-cruise). 2 questions:
1) Is check-in for BLT at the regular CR desk (like they do at BC)?
2) The BLT bus stop is the CR bus stop, right? Does that mean DME will drop us off at the front of CR?

Thanks!! I've stayed 1 night at CR, and I'm really looking forward to finally getting to stay on points at BLT-- can't wait to go up and see the TOTW lounge! Wishes is scheduled for 10PM-- what time is the lounge open? Are there snacks or drinks available (free or for purchase) up there?

Yes and yes to questions 1 and 2.
Not sure exactly what time the lounge opens but there is food and drink available for purchase. When we were there it was about a 50/50 proposition the cast member at the elevator asked for DVC identification.
Enjoy!

anyone looking for a garden wing room july 4th week?
looks like we will be cancelling one of our soon as some of the people can't get out off work

Thank you!! I can't wait to be there in less than 48 hours!

Does anyone know any good running routes around CR?

Contemporary resort has a outdoor movies?

Yes, they do. It's by the path between the CR and BLT, so we could see them when we were walking across the bridge. One of the days it was at a good scene in the Lion King, and we stopped on the bridge and watched for 5 mins.

We are stayin in the garden wing. Are we allowed to request turn down service at the CR? My girls and I find that to be just magical! :goodvibes

I think only Club level guests can get turn down service, but it never hurts to ask...

Yes! Just request it at check-in. Only the non-CL rooms at the GF get automatic turn-down. At all other Deluxe resorts are by-request only.

Looks like we are going to need to do laundry this time (staying 2 weeks in the World). Can we use our KTTW? Are the laundry facilities near the pool? Garden Wing? Thanks! Can't wait until our trip. :cool1:
The machines at the CR only accept your KTTW card as payment and the cost is $2 per load. The laundry is located on the 2nd floor of the Garden Wing. It's a quick 1-2 minute walk from the laundry room to the main pool.

The laundry machines don't accept Key To The World cards or credit cards. Good idea, though!:thumbsup2
They've accepted the KTTW card at the CR laundry for at least 3 or 4 years, I believe.

I love Contemporary!

Me THREE!

Signing on - will be there in Nov! Can't wait!:smokin:
Happy planning!

do they take quarters or dollars. I gotta be prepared
Your KTTW card is all you'll need:). Oh, and I like to bring those all-in-one detergent/dryer sheets in a baggie;)

I'm sorry you have to cancel. Hopefully, you'll be able to book another date:thumbsup2

Does anyone know any good running routes around CR?
CR/BLT is one of the worst WDW Resorts for running outdoors. We've tried all the routes:

Running from one end of the parking lot at the GW to the BLT parking lot. This isn't much fun since it's a short route and there are often puddles and other obstacles, like cars...

Running from the CR to the MK on the walkway includes having to stop at the light to cross and then you can only get so far on the walkway because it's closed off by a rope prior to park opening. If you jog after park opening then the pathway along Seven Seas Lagoon is open and that's the best option for outdoors. The road in front of the CR doesn't have sidewalks so that's a big no-no in WDW.

The Olympiad is really the best option or if you've got the time, take the boat over to WL or FW and jog around there. That's are favorite route - lots of paths and sidewalks. Good luck!

Thanks for all the laundry info. That will make our planning smoother. Knew I could count on you wonderful DISers!:goodvibes

43 more days and we will be checking into BLT/CR. We can't wait.:woohoo: Now we just have to wait for our Mickey Mail.:hyper:

I just switch to CR today. We'll be there around the same time as you. I can't wait.

Oh How cool. Happy dance for you.:woohoo::yay::dance3::yay::woohoo:

I was never a CR fan until we stayed at BLT in 2010. I just fell in love with the resort. We are excited as well. Maybe we will see ya there.

Great thread! Im on another board similar to this, and know how to search...but honestly I've come up with a couple of different answers;) can anyone confirm/answer for me...

What floor is the walkway from the BLT to the Contemporary?
The most consistent answer seems to be 5 th floor in BLT to 4 th floor on Contemporary tower. But I've seen 2 nd 3rd floor and read about people staying in 7xxx and say it's on the floor below ( but I dont think 7xxx is 7 th floor- I'm too much of a newbie to understand how the floor numbering works!)I'm confused

Are there 2 full baths in the 1 BR units? Again, floor plans and posts seem to differ in this. We've stayed in the BWV 1 BR and I dont remember 2 baths, but that was a while ago now!

Opinions about the sleeper chair as a viable bed for a petite teen (64 inches)?

Last question (fer now!) We are only staying a few nights, so unlikely to be able to take full advantage of a high floor MK view for fireworks ( we will likely be in the parks with teens till close when "bombs go bursting in air", so we are considering requesting a room on the same floor as the walkway ( once I now which!) Lake View, and we realize that may not be a great view, but thinking of convenience of not needing the elevator. Any thoughts? Anyone had luck with requests? We are not DVC members and we will be going during the busy Presidents BD week, so I'm hopeful, but wondering how good our chances with a request will be?
TIA to all the CR experts out there!

Walkway is on the 5th floor of BLT and goes into the 4th floor of Contemp. I can't remember how the room #'s go in relation to the floor #'s.

Yes, 2 full baths in 1 bedrooms.

I think sleeper would be fine for 16 year old. My 10 year old slept in it just fine (I know a big diff. in age -although my ds in 55 inches tall,) but I remember reading a lot of reports of adults being fine sleeping in the sleeper.

I think requesting a 5th floor room would be fine, especially good for the convenience. We were going to do this last year, if we didn't get our request of a high floor on the North and outer part of building met. We ended up getting those requests met and had the best Lakeview room ever...-really it was a view of MK. If we can't get a room like that this year, we'll be requesting a room on the 5th floor, for the convenience.

BLT room numbers start at 71XX for the first floor, 72XX for 2nd, 81XX for the 11th, etc.

Ps-- you don't remember 2 full baths in BWV because it didn't have it! I think only BLT and AKV 1 BRs have the two full baths.

Sorry about the outdated laundry info! :confused3
No problem and no need to apologize:)

what kind of coffee machine is in the rooms (wing section)

is it pods? or filters and do they supply?
All of the rooms have the pod coffee makers:

Yes, only BLT and Kidani have two bathrooms in their one bedrooms; Jambo doesn't.
