Pixie Dust has Flown

........from Disney to Universal.
My family and another are just back from 12 days in Florida. We rented a house for Disney/shopping/beach days and stayed on site at Universal for 2 nights/3 days. Not one of us can believe the service at Universal, both in the theme parks and at the Royal Pacific. I am talking waaaaaaaaay over the top. Not one cast member (or whatever they call themselves) was without a smile and a nice greeting. I am also quite certain that employees nearly outnumbered guests at the RP pool......note to Pete - no more music. There were hourly activities and a movie at night with staff at every turn. The food was awesome.
Perhaps the icing on the cake was the employee walking around offering to get anyone a dry towel or a cup of complimentary sunscreen.

Val & I are unabashed Disney snobs but its always good to keep an open mind. Perhaps once we move to FL we will give Universal another chance.

We stayed at Royal Pacific two years ago and thought exactly the same. We loved and are back there in 6 days time. I loved it when a staff member came round the pool with cold flannels and fresh fruit

I have been until now Jeff. I can't deny what was so obvious. The bell hop showed us some perks in our room and then said something like "have a quick look around and tell me if you think that you need anything off the top of your head and can I help organize this luggage???"

It was some of the best customer service that I have experienced anywhere.

Wow, I'm impressed! Dh and I are DVC owners, but we may have to add at least 2 days at Universal to see what the changes are. It's been years since we've been, and your post has me wanting to go again.

We stayed at RPR years ago, concierge level. I thought the service then was far above WDW.
