Wishuponastar, we have not started packing yet, but soon. Only a few days away now! We will have our 3 kids with us, an 8 year old boy and a 5 & 2 year old girls. As far as your family and friends not understanding about Disney, I have an aunt I am close with that is just as obsessed with WDW as I am! Lucky me. Hope to meet up with you guys soon.

I'm always getting the old "disney again" from friends and fam back home when they ask where we're vacationing... I say, don't ask me then.. :rotfl2:
I got that for awhile, now at the beginning of the year I just get asked, "When do you go to Disney this year?":lmao:

Dave,

Looking good!! Watch out don't like it too much!! Poly would drain your DVC points! But with all these DVC rumors about the poly, maybe the poly will be your "home" resort.
Thank you for the pics! Love the dole whip and don't forget the sunrise just to the right of the contemporary.. Makes for a beauty of a pic!

Hi, everyone! I've been lurking here for a couple of months, reading all the posts. We head to the Poly for the first time on June 12th. This will be first trip for twins - DD5 and DS5. We took DD7 to Disney World when she was 4, but left the twins at home with grandparents. We are planning to surprise the kids with the trip, not telling them until the day we leave.

My question is about the day bed. Will it be made up as a bed since we have 5 people in the room, or will we need to make it up ourselves? We are not staying club level. I think that they will all fight over it if it appears as a bed, but if they think they have to sleep on a sofa, they aren't going to be too excited about it!

Thanks for all the help you have given me without even knowing it!

We will be there the same time as you! We arrive the next day for 11 days. You won't be able to miss our large group. By the 14th there will be 20 of us!!! We have 3 girls and 1 boy in the age range of your kids; the others are younger or older. Your kids will LOVE the Poly and the space in the rooms is wonderful for a family of 5! We fit just fine and two of our kids are older.

Happy Mother's Day to all my fellow Poly mammas! :flower3:

Happy Mother's Day maipapaya and all of the other Moms!!!! We will be at the Poly for Father's Day so my DH got the better deal.

dvczerfs - thanks for all of the wonderful pictures. I'm enjoying following your peeks at the Poly!!!

Love the thread! I think I just saw more of the Poly than when I was there :)

We went during President's Week, which was the slowest I've ever seen Disney and everything was open late! Sadly, we were both sick and only had 2.5 days there to boot. I've wanted to go to the Polly for several years and it was sort of a mixed bag.

Loved:
Large rooms
Watching the fireworks from the top of the stairs at the end of my building
Monorail and boats to MK (and also to the Contemporary for breakfast)
Relaxed feel outside and beautiful landscaping
Not having to go to MK just for Dole Whip :thumbsup2

Wasn't impressed:
Main building was loud and a bit confined despite it not being very busy
Not having a sink outside the bathroom
Monorail to Epcot (found it quicker to drive there)
Rooms seemed louder than other resorts, which i chalk up to 1970s era construction technology.
No spa services (and GFL spa was closed at the time)

I'm a fan of the AKL, so I think that skews my opinion a bit. I just didn't feel like there was the same level friendliness from the staff as I've experienced at AKL(don't know how to quantify that), and of course I've been spoiled by staying in a much newer resort the past few trips. I did enjoy it, but felt a little let down since I had built it up in my head so much.

Just have time for a quick question!
We got home last night from our week at the Poly and LOVED it! But now, I am regretting not purchasing a tote bag that I saw in Boutiki. I looked at the Disney Store online and they don't seem to have it. Is there a way to order an item from the gift shop, maybe by calling? Will they ship it to me? I will really be kicking myself if they can't!
Thanks!
