Eprize Contest Disqualifications?

I'm reposting this as a new thread to try to get more visibility, as I didn't get many responses in the other thread.

So I've got a bit of a freaking-out dilemma on my hands here. I've been playing the Cars Land Preview Contest by Ralphs and Coca-Cola. I won Cars Land Party Passes a couple days back at like 4:15ish am, but I've been playing the sweepstakes for several weeks. I was entering with two different e-mail addresses, both of which belong to me and have two different first names (I have two first names) and the same birthdate. I then read the rules and policies closely, and saw the bit about disqualifications if you enter multiple times. I googled and found out that in past eprize contests, sure enough people have been disqualified and now I'm super worried about losing my prize, especially since I'm in the process of planning for my Cars Land trip. I've stopped entering altogether as soon as I won, but should I be worried?

I think this is one of those things that you will just have to wait and see what happens. I personally would not feel okay with playing with two different email addresses, just because it isn't fair to other people playing. But that is different as to whether you will be "caught" or not, right? Hopefully you won't be caught and you will get in.

I have been trying daily since the contest began--but no luck so far.

What do you mean "more responses"?

Basically, this is a contest where the rules state you are only allowed to play 1 time per every 24 hours. If you register with different email addresses, but are the same human playing (no matter the name, you are still the same person) then you are cheating. This leads to being disqualified. Sure, there is a chance you will get away with the cheating. People probably do it all the time. I don't necessarily agree with it, but the chance of them catching the OP is probably fairly slim.

It changes the odds of winning. Let's say there is one prize, and 1,000 people enter. You'd have a 1/1,000 chance of winning. If each of those people used 2 different email addresses, the total entries goes up to 2,000 which changes the odds to 1/2,000.

When are you supposed to receive your prize? Are you supposed to show up and get it there or are they shipping it to you? I would guess you will be ok since the names are different. Birth date shouldn't be an issue. Don't mention the two emails or names to them of course but I would guess they won't notice. And I would guess a majority of people who enter are using more than one email to enter.

If you used the same computer the same ip adress will come up regardless of whether or not you used different accounts. It would be easy enough for them to catch you if they are looking. I hope they aren't. I think you've got a good chance of sliding by.

Yes, but the its one per person, not one per household. So DH and I could each enter (with different names but same IP)....and if we had adult children living at home then they could enter too.

Oh goodness. I'd be worried about that too. Maybe you should try contacting ePrize and apologizing? Dunno what the general consensus of Disboarders is about contacting ePrize though. Has anyone on the boards been DQed from past ePrize sweepstakes?

I have yet to win, so I started playing for my parents and brother. Do you think I should stop?

You can play for them, but it'd be their prize technically. As long as the names are different, and they are legit people with legit info you should be fine.

Eek. Having just skimmed the rules, I'd be nervous too. Then again, they have a weird typo in their official rules ("MERCHANIDISE"?), so maybe they aren't good at dotting Is and crossing Ts.

Yeah, I wanted to hear other people's opinions on this subject. I'm still pretty nervous about it, but I think I've calmed down a little thanks to the other posters. Thanks guys xD

I'll probably play for family members from now on, I never planned on using my second email again once I had won on the first email, and I'm sticking to that. I really hope they don't go closely looking at this and just think that the second person is my twin brother or something

Yes, you should be. You have disqualified yourself by violating the entry limitation rules.

From the official rules (bolding is mine for emphasis):
"Limit: 1 Instant Win Game play per day during the Promotion Period, regardless of method of entry or URL through which you entered. Multiple participants are not permitted to share the same email address. Any attempt by any participant to obtain more than the stated number of plays by using multiple/different email addresses, identities, registrations or logins, multiple URLs, or any other methods will void that participant’s plays and that participant may be disqualified."

You used multiple identities to enter twice a day. This is in direct violation of the rules. You have voided your own plays, as stated above.

- Are you using the same email address for their entries as you used for yours?
- Is your brother under 17?
- Are they not legal residents of Arizona or California?
- Do they work for The Coca-Cola Company, Coca-Cola Refreshments, USA, Inc., Coca-Cola bottlers, The Kroger Co., Disney Destinations, LLC (“Disney”), ePrize, LLC, and their respective parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, agents, and those prize providers and agencies that are involved in in the development or execution of this Instant Win Game or any of its materials?
- Do they have any immediate family or household members that work for any of the above?

If you said, "No" to all of these, then you are okay. However... If one of their entries win, THEY will have won the prize, not you.

Play fair like the rest of us who enter contests, or don't play at all. Your choice. If you get disqualified so be it, you didn't play by the rules.

Sounds like an honest mistake. I don't think its a big deal. If you get the tickets you get the tickets.

There is a 50% chance you would have won them playing just once per day anyway.

Hmm...I wouldn't exactly call it an honest mistake, because the OP was playing for themselves (albeit under two different names) twice a day--which is against the rules. In my mind that isn't an honest mistake--but I know others may disagree.

Maybe the best thing for the OP to do is just wait and see what happens with the prize, and then make this sort of a learning experience. If you are ever playing in the future, then just play by the rules set down so you won't have to worry. I personally wouldn't keep playing for other family members if I were you, since you have already won. Congratulations, by the way.
