The Fantasy's First MNSSH Cruise: Zombies of the Caribbean October 27, 2012

I love the idea about taking pictures at each location. This really allows you to do it at your own pace and time. What a great idea.

I agree!

Most people have a phone with a camera and I would think almost everyone would have a camera beacuse they are on vacation.

Welcome Debagu!

Our cabin is near yours we are 8668. Although I have been following a verandah thread which is making me want to upgrade. We were in a verandah room (VGT) on our first cruise and landed in a 4B room. We loved the space in the room. Not a good category to start off on, makes you want to book it again. :rotfl:

Gmilligan...welcome:) which anniversary are you celebrating? is it a big one?

We are celebrating our 5th anniversary. Our anniversary is actually August 25 however dh could not get off work that week.

This is our 2nd cruise ever, and it is our 1st Disney Cruise.
Our 1st cruise (years ago) we had an inside room, so I am so excited about having a verandah room this time.
I am looking forward to seeing the sun rise, never did on the other cruise!!
This will be our kids 1st cruise ever and they are looking forward to it!!
We have been counting down since 410 days! :yay:

Trick or Treat Scavenger Hunt: Y/N/Maybe YES (for the 2 kids and I will certainly help out.... just tell me what to do. No allergies)

We are so excited to be going and that things are starting to heat up on the board. This is our second cruise. Our first was to Alaska last June.

We are certainly up for the FE.... we have to pull out the one that we made last year, in the hotel - 2 hours before departure, with fabric and a stapler and Iron!!!!

I will learn more about what was done last year on the cruise for the hunt, etc. I am not all the familiar, but we certainly would love to participate - just tell me what to do.

Also, if there are any 9-11 year old girls who might want to start pen paling with my daughter before we leave, that would be great. Brenna spent most of the Alaska trip with us, as she found it hard to make connections with other girls in the lab.... tweens!

Welcome everyone!!! :welcome: So exciting to see how many peeps are going! party:

Even though my kids don't want to do the scavenger hunt (takes too much time away from the clubs! ;) ) I would be more than happy to bring a bag of trinkets (the candy might melt, break or squish). Let me know once we are closer to the cruise as to how many kidlings I should plan on. :yay:

Thanks BMickey! I think at the moment the idea is to do it by stateroom so you could always do it as well as your kids through out the week, evenings at dinner etc. but thank you very much for offering to supplie goodies even if you don't join in! :):goodvibes

I am liking the way that the scavenger hunt game is evolving. I can & will help out prior to the cruise in any way that I can. So sign us (or at least my kids) up for a "yes". I kind of like this idea or something like it:
Perhaps we could give out the scavenger hunt clues on the first day at a meet up, give a bag of candy, get a clue list. Then on November 1 we could do another meet up to check off clues and receive prizes. That would give everybody more flexibility for doing the scavenger hunt on there own vacation time.
I do like the idea of possibly handing out a scavenger hunt sheet early in the cruise & then having it turned in with photos and/or answers on the last day at sea to collect your goodie/prize bag.

Another thought is that maybe I could make up a scavenger hunt sheet with Day Of The Dead Trivia & the answers could be posted in various places around the ship. Maybe even on stateroom doors? It might be fun to give clues that lead to the answer locations around the ship. The only problem with that is that if we had quiz answers hanging around the ship they may only last for an hour or so before they were taken down by CMs or other people (unless they are on state room doors.) Maybe people participating in the FE program would be willing to post a single answer on their door & the people with the quiz sheet would have to figure out which blank the answer goes in. Then turn in the filled up sheet for the goodies/prize bag on our last day?

Lots of possibilites for sure. Just keep me posted on what I can do to design a trivia/quiz sheet. I won't be much help thinking up locations since I have never been on the Dream or the Fantasy ship/s. I could however think up Day Of The Dead knowledge questions. I also have no problem designing the pages. I may not be as much of a disigner as you gilsan (AWESOME job on the Halloween graphic) but I know enough to create something useful and pretty. I also have a broker account with a printer & can look into print costs.

Sorry for the long post. I'm just throwing out ideas & am open for anything. I will be much more available this summer when my kids are out of school.

I like your ideas I think we would need to restrict and posting to cabin doors. I added you to the yes list.

Here is a picture from Pink. We did a champagne tasting there, it very nice and informative. I believe the same area on the Fantasy is called Ooh La La and probably looks different.

Hi this is sort of similar to what I've been talking to maddiesmum about, maybe three or four 'scrolls' with different things on given out on the first day maybe four f us could create a scroll each and then a point system like the photo scroll each photo would be worth 5 each answer on another worth 2 each object from a story about mickey/pirates worth so many etc everyone who returns there scrolls and answers would receive candy/goodie bag and the top three would receive something extra the scrolls could include enough to keep adults and children entertained throughout the week but not take too much time like answer the questions one evening at dinner etc...like you so many thoughts but I think this would work out quite well for everyone maybe you could join us on Facebook to keep the ideas together if you are willing to spend some time helping to organise that would be fantasic!! :goodvibes:confused3:banana:!

Welcome to the thread and to disboards!

I have added links to the April 7 Western Caribbean Navigators on the first post. It is nice to get an idea of what activities maybe happening on board.

would work out quite well for everyone maybe you could join us on Facebook to keep the ideas together if you are willing to spend some time helping to organise that would be fantasic!!

Sorry Stacylou. I would love to join you on Facebook, but I am a little bit concerned about having everyone know my name & when exactly I am going to be gone on vacation. It is never difficult to google someone by name & find out where they live & all sorts of stuff & I hate for people to know when exactly I am going to be on vacation. I hate to be difficult; maybe I am just being paranoid. :confused3

Maybe when time gets closer, we could exchange emails through PMs & that way you could keep me on track for what I need to do.

Also thanks to gilsan for posting navigators. I've been looking all over for them.

No worries at all I totally understand we can discuss through pms and on here until we think it's nessacary to do anything else. :goodvibes

Is everyone else happy with the basic plan for the scavenger hunt then we can get to work on it. :cool1:
