SHADES OF GREEN at Walt Disney World Resort Information & Questions

well, color me speechless, because this is NOT what I thought you looked like. :) Glad to see you!!

The family suites only sleep up to 8 people, so they're not reserved for large groups. They're pretty much first come first serve. If you book a year in advance, your chances of getting them-even if you're only a group of 2-are much better even if a group of 8 called 2 days later.
That's what I figure. We may have my parents or my sister and her family along, so I was hoping to get the big suite. I am procrastinating calling. :rolleyes1

The suites have the kids sleeping area in the living room, correct? That always makes me nervous because my ds has a history of running off, even at night. We have to be careful that he can't get away. That's another reason the Palm Suite appeals, I believe the kids room does not have a door that opens to the hall, is that correct? And it costs about the same as the cabins at Ft Wilderness. We are going to have an infant, and with the waking at night to nurse, I think we have to have at least 2 rooms. I don't want cranky sleep deprived kids on our trip. I can just get by with more coffee. ;)

So there's refillable mugs now?

I've been thinking about upgrading one of us to an annual pass so we'd get free theme park parking, and we can get the Tables in Wonderland card. Has anyone done that? Do you think it saved you some money? We are planning for a 2 week trip.

Has anyone done a split stay with a Disney Resort? How did that work out?

Well there's always the dead bolt at the top of the door-with that on, it's pretty hard to open the door!

Today's (or rather, yesterday's) pic of the day. YAY!! Am so happy to see that stage gone in front of Big Blue.

I know, you thought I was a very slender, gorgeous young thing, didn't you??? :lmao:

I am very new to this area of the board and needing some guidance. We were planning a trip for next year after my DD came home from BMT and 8 months of tech school for the Air National Guard. She was scheduled to leave 6/13 but due to something (no one has explained it to us) she will not be leaving until 9/12. Can we stay at SoG since she has her military ID even though it would be us (her parents) paying the bill? She will be with us and she has been going to drill weekend and is already paid by the Air Force...

It doesn't matter who pays as long as the person with the military ID is on the reservation and stays in a room during your stay.

Hi all,
This is a great thread - wish I had found it sooner. As you can see, I don't post on here much. This is going to be a total shot in the dark, but I'm desperate, so I'll give it a try: i know many of you are at Shades right now (so am I), and I was wondering if anyone might have a camera battery charger that I could try with my camera. I forgot to bring my charger, and my battery ran out today. There is nothing worse than being in Disney and not having a working camera!

Wish I could help. I am here too, but my camera takes regular old AA batteries. :guilty:
