I like your Mousekeeping envelopes, but I have often thought that the guests probably get more joy out of the Disney-decorated envelopes than the Mousekeepers do.

We never celebrate anything on the actual day - for some reason, something ALWAYS comes up. I like to think it keeps things more interesting because we never know when the actual celebration will occur.

I like your envelopes! But I agree that's it's more for the guest than the employee - there was this whooole thread on the cruise board about guests coming up with these really elaborate (and, IMO, somewhat unnecessary) gifts instead of things like cash tips or notes on comment cards. I think tip envelopes are definitely a better way to show appreciation - cute, no pressure on the CMs, and still practical! Plus since they aren't given out in person, I can imagine everyone liking them.

That's a good way to look at it! We'll probably never get to celebrate on the actual day for the next few years, unless Brandon gets moved to days. I'd much rather celebrate in Disney anyway!

Thanks! Oh yeah, the cruise people get crazy! Have you read anything about those Fish Extenders, and the gifts people make for each other?? I'd love to do that if we ever take a cruise, but I'd be terrified that I wouldn't make cute enough things for people!

So sorry to hear about Nina! A couple of years ago Joyce's sleep-snuggle-buddy Otis had kidney failure and it was just such an awful thing. The good thing is that Nina didn't suffer long and it at peace.

It's terrible timing (though no timing would be good to lose a loved one), but happy anniversary! At least you will have Disney to help you through!

Oh, and if you just bought new Crocs for the trip, I'd suggest bringing some Dr. Scholl's mole skin. I bought Crocs just before one trip and while they were amazingly comfortable, they ate up two small spots on the sides of my feet. I didn't notice until the second day, but would have had to sit in the room and cry had we not brought along mole skin. I love my crocs, and they are super comfortable--though agree they are hideous--but a few miles in Disney will feel like a few hundred miles with a blister!

Thank you so much. It was horrible losing Nina, it's still horrible, I can't believe tomorrow will be a week already. I'm glad she didn't suffer for too long, but I miss her so much. I wish there was something that could have been done for her.

Thank you! Even though I'm still so sad about Nina, it's nice having Disney as a distraction. I don't know what I'm going to do when I get home though. I'm thinking about getting another cat already. Crazy.

I love my Crocs, they are so comfy, but yes, hideous! I have mole skin, I first used it in December, and honestly, I don't see how it's any different than using a band aid! Maybe I'm using it wrong! Luckily I don't get too many blisters in Disney anymore (when Brandon and I went in 2008 on our first trip together, my feet were covered in blisters, and it was agonizing, so when we went back, I did so much research on how to prevent them...switching shoes throughout the day seems to work really well! )!

I am so sorry about your cat. That is so tough to lose a petThey are a member of the family.

Thank you, it was really difficult to put Nina down. Actually, we got her ashes today, so when I came home from work, I had a bit of a breakdown. It's hard being so sad about my kitty, and being excited about Disney at the same time...emotional roller coaster!

AHHH I know, I'm so excited!!!

I know, that might be the cheapest price I've gotten for a car yet! Even in December for 5 days I paid $90!

I looked at 2 separate Kohl's for slippers and they had nothing! Luckily I found some at Sears (ugh, I HATE Sears!) yestarday. They're just plain white pillow step slippers, I don't care what they look like, they just need to be comfortable! The ones I have now are awful, I'm throwing them away tomorrow!

Are those kittens going to be adoptable? They look just like Nina. They are SO freakin cute, I want a kitten so bad already, but I'm not sure I could handle a Nina lookalike right now. But I just feel so empty without her, I need another cat of my own, my other 2 cats are great and I love them, but I want another cat like Nina who was just mine, you know?

2 DAYS!!!​

Hi everyone!

I'm down to

2 DAYS TIL DISNEY!!!!



I'm going a little crazy over here!!! Today has been a really emotional day for me. I don't want to get everyone depressed and sad again, talking about my Nina, but I got her ashes today (we had her cremated) and when I got home, I had a bit of an emotional breakdown. I miss her SO much. I can't believe it's already been a week that I've been living without her. It's very strange going from crying over Nina to being excited that I'm leaving for Disney in 2 days.

But I AM excited! I'm ready to start getting organized and packing! Tonight I'm going to write my packing lists (I do this as late as possible, so I don't drive myself insane, because if I did it early, I'd just keep checking them and make myself crazy! ) and do some laundry, and tomorrow I can finally pack!

I'm glad I'm off tomorrow so I can just use the entire day to pack. Brandon already told me he has like 3 places he has to go to get some last minute things, so of course, we'll be running around during the day before he goes to work. I'm sure I won't get anything done until he leaves! I've decided to do his laundry tonight and mine tomorrow because if I let him do his tomorrow he will wait until the last minute and then he won't get to pack and he will have to do it at 11:30 at night, then he won't get to sleep.

I will be back tomorrow with one last update!! I'm going to paint my Disney nails later tonight so if they come out ok, I will post a picture! Tomorrow I'll be counting down the hours til we leave for the airport, I can't wait!!!

Nina was incredibly lucky to be loved so much!

Those kittens are 5 weeks old and are being fostered by a friend of mine. They will be adoptable in 3 weeks. I know what you mean about looking too much like Nina- I still have a hard time when a cat comes into my shelter who looks like Otis. But, if you are interested in a kitten at some point in the future, let me know.


I am jealous that you have tomorrow off! I have to work and I think I'm going to spend a lot of time wishing the clock would move faster! I actually have to go pack now, because I a leaving right after work to drive out to Mark's house in the Berkshires.

So sorry to hear about your sweet kitty, we just found out that our sweet kitty has FIV, which is just like HIV in Humans and we are faced with having to put him down too. Dogs and Cats are the most wonderful creature in the world!!!! I just love them..

The weather looks like it's going to be great!!! There is rain in the forcast but not to bad..

We were there on spring break and I didn't get many pictures of the Flower and Garden Festival, because it rained our only day in Epcot, so Please Please Please take pictures of all the charactors for me.

Yay!! I'm having a great packing day so far, I watched a few Twilight Zones and then I switched back and forth between Friends and Tangled while packing, so it's been a Disney filled day. (Well, Friends isn't really Disney, but I love it! )

Ugh, I can't get a good picture of my Disney nails, so it might have to wait. I painted them red with white dots, like Minnie's dress...they look cute, but I smudged them so much waiting for them to dry, and every time I tried to fix them, I made them worse. So I'm not touching them anymore, just hoping they don't chip in the next few days!
