An Anniversary Trip Full of Favorites-May 2012 PTR!*TR Link 5/14 & Question 5/15 p32*

4 DAYS! ​

Hi everyone!

Can you believe that now I'm down to

4 DAYSuntil my trip!!!

:banana::cool1::woohoo::yay:

Last night I made my Mousekeeping envelopes. I didn't have a lot of time, so I didn't get very creative, I just used some Disney stickers I already had. I wish I was more crafty, but I figure, the Mousekeepers really just want the money inside, they don't care about the envelopes right? :rotfl2:

They're ok, I've made better, but like I said, I didn't have much time!

I still have to pick up a few things, like nail polish for my Disney nails, slippers, and I really want a travel pillow so I can attempt to sleep on the plane, but that's not really necessary. I'm trying to think if there is anything else I'm forgetting, but I'm drawing a blank. I really wanted a new pair of sneakers for this trip, but the Merrells that I was looking at are really expensive. I guess I'll just bring my comfy Adidas and hope I don't have to wear them too much, it's supposed to be in the 90's when we're there, so I'm guessing I won't be wearing sneakers a lot!

If I don't do an update tomorrow night I will definitely do one Thursday! :banana:

Oh yes, one more thing-today is our 2 year anniversary! Unfortunately, Brandon is working so we don't really get to celebrate, but we went out to dinner on Saturday for our "anniversary dinner" and then we have this little trip coming up...I guess that makes up for us not doing anything today! :rotfl:

Woohoo for 4 days!

90s huh. I wish it only got hot in Florida in the months of June, July and August. That way I would just avoid the state during those months. :lmao:

Notice my ticker? I talked Kyle into taking a quick 4 night trip. Still planning my February trip :cool2:

I might get to get on the computer before I get into Disney on Friday, but if not, then have fun on your trip!!!!!:thumbsup2 I'm sure you and Brandon are going to have a blast (even in the 90 degree weather.:eek:) and soak up the beauty of the Beach Club.

I'll be on the lookout for you on the days we're in the same parks, and if I see you, I'll be sure and say hello.:wave2:

4 days!! That's so exciting!

I like your Mousekeeping envelopes, but I have often thought that the guests probably get more joy out of the Disney-decorated envelopes than the Mousekeepers do.:rotfl:
 
Congrats on your anniversary and 4 days! I'm glad things are getting better for you. :)

We never celebrate anything on the actual day - for some reason, something ALWAYS comes up. I like to think it keeps things more interesting because we never know when the actual celebration will occur. ;)

I like your envelopes! But I agree that's it's more for the guest than the employee - there was this whooole thread on the cruise board about guests coming up with these really elaborate (and, IMO, somewhat unnecessary) gifts instead of things like cash tips or notes on comment cards. I think tip envelopes are definitely a better way to show appreciation - cute, no pressure on the CMs, and still practical! Plus since they aren't given out in person, I can imagine everyone liking them. :rotfl:

DON'T mention a fall trip. I'm going to miss food and wine sooooooooo much this fall. Greg and I are skipping Disney this fall. We're going to go to San Francisco. It's going to be cheaper and after the downs of our trip in March/April, we need to take a break from Disney. At least we have the Taste of Chicago to look forward to in July; I can pretend we're in Disney! :laughing:

You know, we should get together for the Taste. Because seriously, we live so close that it's kind of ridiculous that we haven't met up yet :lmao:

I think the Mousekeeping envelopes are adorable. I've made them before and I feel like we are spreading a little pixie dust ourselves when we pass them along to the staff.

So sorry to hear about Nina! A couple of years ago Joyce's sleep-snuggle-buddy Otis had kidney failure and it was just such an awful thing. The good thing is that Nina didn't suffer long and it at peace. :hug:

It's terrible timing (though no timing would be good to lose a loved one), but happy anniversary! At least you will have Disney to help you through!

Oh, and if you just bought new Crocs for the trip, I'd suggest bringing some Dr. Scholl's mole skin. I bought Crocs just before one trip and while they were amazingly comfortable, they ate up two small spots on the sides of my feet. I didn't notice until the second day, but would have had to sit in the room and cry had we not brought along mole skin. I love my crocs, and they are super comfortable--though agree they are hideous--but a few miles in Disney will feel like a few hundred miles with a blister! :headache:
 
I am so sorry about your cat. That is so tough to lose a pet:sad1:They are a member of the family.

I know, it's going to be hot, but as long as it doesn't rain, I don't care! Hot I can deal with, rain, I can't, not after my last 2 trips, I need a break! And that's coming from someone who hates the summer more than anything! I hate heat and humidity, but I'll take it over rain any day!

I always use stickers too, but most of the time, I will use colored envelopes and go out and buy a ton of new stickers, but I just wanted to use some of my old ones up. My next trip I'll have better envelopes! :laughing:

I can't believe it either, I am SO excited! I can't wait to leave work tomorrow and officially be on vacation! :yay: I'm glad you like the envelopes, I think using stickers is cute!

I think so too! And Brandon was so sweet, I was asleep last night when he got home, but he woke me up to give me a card, and apologized for it not being a Disney card! :rotfl:
