I have another question, which I will also pose to my travel agent, but figured the pros here will know the answer. Is DD (4 1/2) allowed to use a Puddle Jumper life jacket in the pool at the Poly? It's like arm swimmies attached to a part that goes around her chest - it's a Coast Guard approved life jacket. She's not fully independently swimming yet. Thanks!

I'm pretty sure that won't be a problem. Children aren't required to wear a life jacket in the Poly pools, so I don't see why they would object to her wearing what you've got and I'm sure I've seen kids wearing water wings in the pool there. They also have life jackets you can borrow from the marina for free for the length of your stay, if that saves you bringing something extra in your suitcase.

Oooooh, I hope so because that is what we are bringing for DD, who will be turning 5 on the trip. The only issue is that I am concerned about having it take up so much room in a suitcase and our entire day before flying home is at the pool. It probably wont dry in time for our flight home. I am entertaining the thought of just buying her some regular arm floaties to use and then regifting them to someone at the pool who looks like they could use them, before we head home. Haven't decided though...

And yes, I feel lucky to have gone to Disney as many times as I have and am always grateful for every trip. I'm just lucky that my DH has gone along with it all.

Hold the power and down arrow down at the same time, for a few seconds and the thermostat will display BP then set it for what ever temp you want. Make sure you do it every night or it will reset to default. If the thermostat is new you may not have to do that. You can also call maintenance if you don't feel comfortable doing it yourself.

Yesterday and today the weather is absolutely perfect for here in Seattle, and you would think that would quell some vacation fever. Nope, quite the opposite. I want to go more.

And I agree. Maybe you could just take up permanent residence at the Poly Carl.

They do have life jackets available.. But remember the pool is only 4ft Or 1.22 meters. Guarded by lifeguards and zero entry. VERY safe even without life jackets!

Still couldn't sleep.. Then I went to the Internet for more info.. I CANNOT sleep without white noise in the background!

I'd love to know, too! We have to have a fan going in our room at home; right now we have an extra window a/c b/c my DH likes to keep it 60 degrees in there year round. I was planning to get a fan sometime this week to take with us on our trip, but a noise machine might be better!

We use a white noise machine in my son's room. It's pretty small and can be plugged in or run on batteries. We are going to bring it with us. There is a night light feature to it as well.

Can't chance it if God forbid we left it in a hotel room and didn't have it when we got home We have the Sleepmate model 980 A. We bought them off of Amazon I think. Lots of places sell them so just look for the cheapest price. It is small and has 2 speeds. High and Low. It has 2 collars that you turn to get your preferred fan noise. It is literally just a fan inside a plastic housing that channels the noise. Love it!

So funny.... we carry that, DH's CPAP machine, and DD's nebulizer in one of our carry-ons. Notoriously, at some point during our airport searches, we are asked to plug in at least one of these items to make sure it isn't a bomb. It makes me laugh because.....if it WERE a bomb and they plugged it in, we would all be goners. Makes no sense really.

Haven't really tried one. I run my fan and a/c year round being in center city Philadelphia people never sleep. No matter how soundproof my place is i always hear the drunk UPenn student's unless I have all the fans running.

Hmmm.. I am the one that requires my room to be 60 degrees (15.56c) and fans but I think I might be happy with a sound machine!

Yes, they do have box fans! My DH & DD20 are also fan addicts. You just have to call mousekeeping and have one delivered to your room. I'm sure they have a limited number, like the mircowaves & are first come, but of our three trips so far we have been able to get one every time.

If you have an iPhone, you can download Sleep Machine Lite for free. It has tons of background noise sounds and works like a charm. Then you have your sound machine where ever you go!

I am going to have to check out that iphone app for DH...he is the same way. I freeze every night because he likes the sound of our ceiling fan on high when he sleeps.

I'm not sure if DH would go for this ... he's a fan purist, never tried a white noise machine I'd have to preview it first before I'd let him use it anyways. I've gotten used to a fan (unless I'm having trouble falling asleep on a particular night), but I'm afraid something like this would annoy the crap out of me & I'd be laying there awake half of the night.
