Hello! We will be at WDW in 9 days - hooray! We have booked a RGR river view room. Is there a particular room that is better to request (corner room, floor, certain area within the building, etc)? Thanks!,

The 2nd floor will probably have a better view if you don't mind doing the steps.

Congrats Venomhatch!!! I've been hoping for a PIN but no luck so far. I've been considering my request for the RGR river view, and would like your input. I thought I would request Parterre Place cornor room. I'm hoping to get a room with a good river view. Your thoughts?

I know you didn't ask me  but thought I'd put in my 2 cents! We had a room in Parterre Place before, and didn't like the location. We were practally in FQ, all the way at the end of Parterre Pl. Far from the main pool, and East Bus Depot which we prefer to the Main Depot. A lot less crowded. http://allears.net/acc/portorleansmap.jpg See that little wing that juts out at the very end of parterre Pl? Can't get much further away and still be in POR  River view was nice though

I'd request Oak Manor, close to quiet pool. More central location IMO.

Have any of the preferred location rooms been refurbished? Do they have queen size beds or still double? TIA!

We have stayed at POR many times but never with an infant. Do you know if they offer cribs as suppose to Pack 'n Play Playard. Do you know what the cost would be ? I know the playard is free but no idea about cribs.

I'm booking POR for feb 2013 RGR. I am trying to decide between garden/water or river view. Can anyone tell me the pros/cons ??
I've never stayed at POR.
Thanks

On another note, the resort is MUCH more compact and walkable than I expected based on some posts I've read. There's plent of space to take a nice, long walk if you want. But from bldg 38, I can be at the main pool, lobby, dining and the North bus depot all in 5 minutes or less. I cannot imagine anyone who would struggle to walk this resort would have the stamina to walk the theme parks. I was literally envisioning things would be twice as far apart than they really are.

I also agree:thumbsup2 I chuckle when I read the resort is "humongous" or it takes "forever" to walk:rotfl:

Debrn - each has it's own price and for further info check first page of this thread. If a little extra cost(I believe $15 but not sure) is no problem then I would go with river view. I personally would go standard or river.

Andre will be along soon and he may have better words of advice.

Riverview will put you closer to the walkways

I see you're back too and you already booked another trip. I think I would have preferred a ground floor room, but we liked the Magnolia Terrace building. I also thought the food court was a madhouse, but we only ate there twice for breakfast. I would have liked to try lunch there though.

We aren't planning another trip yet, but we will be looking for those free dining options.

OMG it was a madhouse....I would go there about 6:30am to get coffee and its very quiet but go back around 8 and its a madhouse lol. We requested ground floor because hubster just had knee surgery. We booked riverview and got MT on the end closest to Oak on the floor behind the stairs....that part didnt bother me really. But the location was perfect...close to the pool and we would cut thru the pool to get to the food court. We did lunch our first day there...the burgers were sooo dry blech! But the pasta and sandwiches are very good.

We booked for next year because we missed alot because princess was sick the first 3 days. This time we are bringing hubster's mom...she's never been here before and she can really help us out with princess.

kristie73...dont do the deluxe dining plan. We actually had meals left over. The Basic dining plan....1 QS and 1 TS is plenty at least it was for us. Oh and princess rode the tower of terror and LOVED it lol

any thoughts on online check in verses checking in at the desk? we are trying to decided what would be best? we arrive at MCO at 11:40 am. I am figuring with magical express we should be at the resort by 1:00.

we are down to 15 day!!!!!!! :dance3:

I think it depends on if you have requests. We didnt do online and we requested queen beds on first floor and we go Magnolia Terrace (super happy about that) Its easier to change things if your requests werent met. Also we walked in at the same time as a family that did online check in and honestly we both got done at the same time.

the only request we really have is connecting rooms if we could get them. But I can live with out them if I had too. Some ppl say do it some ppl say don't. thanks for your thoughts.

I would prefer being on the 2nd floor I read somewhere that on the first floor a family had a snake try in visit in their room. I would have a heart attack! hoping that they don't use elevators :rotfl: to short to push the button.

PS I am requesting second or third floor :rotfl2:
