"Norway? More like No Way!" Goobers' Jan 12 TR! Up.x2 4/6: FINAL THOUGHTS!

Great update!
LOVE the sunset picture...its amazing!

your photopass pictures came out great....
never been to beaches and cream....its on my list...but its been on my list for the past 3 trips....doesn't help that my husband is lactose intolerant :rotfl2:

Oh Beaches and Cream. I love that place! I have yet to be disappointed by it. So yummy and so reasonably priced. I drooled when I saw your pictures of it.

I'm sorry about the blisters! When I got back from my trip in November, I had some trouble with that too for quite some time.

:rotfl: That buzz photo...
Thanks for the updatepopcorn::

Haha no problem! :)

I love the look of that ice cream. No shame in being a fan of the colouring book, I find it really therapeutic but am able to pretend that I am helping my daughter!!

It's so so good! And yes, I know! It really is therapeutic and calming.. especially when it's Disney characters!

Isn't B&C wonderful??? I've never had their onion rings, but they look fabulous! And that No Way Jose looks awesome!

Making sure to have ID before going to Epcot? My guess is La Cava! :thumbsup2

It really is. It's definitely a "must-do" for us from here on out! Those onion rings were SO good... and yes, the No Way Jose was amazingly good. I could eat peanut butter sauce every day!

Haha, that's a decent guess, I will say!

About 4 years ago, I fell down my stairs and twisted my ankle. Ever since, I always get blisters on the bottom of my feet when I walk! I guess it didn't heal right and now I walk funny. I have to bring several pairs of shoes with me now so I wear different shoes each day...that way at least the blisters don't get worse

Ugh that's probably why I get them in the WEIRDEST spots! I have bad ankles from playing basketball in high school and they've never really healed properly. I brought two pair of sneakers but the problem was that they BOTH gave me blisters but in different spots! Terrible, haha.

Well for future reference, just text me anyways! If I'm already asleep I'll answer it in the morning. ;) I have been thinking about the job and I would've texted you today if you hadn't posted the update. I've been so busy and cannot wait to have a relaxing weekend. I was wondering if that would be an issue at all.

Haha okay, I definitely will then! I hear you on the being busy thing! And yeah, it was an issue, then it wasn't, then it was AGAIN. Thankfully they realized it was silly (especially since we're not involved in each other's work very much), and gave it the okay!

Yes, I did, but I was right! Alright, I'm sold. I love having people who I know that will give honest and good reviews of places. :)

Totally! I'm glad you're sold on it!

Our vent sessions are awesome. I let Andy get a bike and used some of your example rules for him. How is the other Disney thing going??! We need to email soon.

Haha they really are awesome. That's good you gave him rules! Boys will be boys I guess, right?! The other thing is going! I think I'll have good news by the end of my TR, so that's good. And yes, we need to email soon!!

You guys were definitely excellent guides and I'm glad the thought of plastic cheese brought me to your mind. Probably not the best thing to be remembered by.

Hahaha, it's more like it made me think of you when I was writing it just because you call it plastic cheese.

All of your PP pics are adorable. I'm so glad we did it this year, definitely worth it! (Especially at $25 each!)

TOTALLY so happy we did it! Such a good deal at $25!

You guys got lucky with no wait at Beaches & Cream! I can confirm that Matt's is ice tea because I'm addicted to the stuff. :thumbsup2 I don't like coke but I will order a Cherry Sprite on occasion. I get looked at funny when I order a Shirley Temple so I'm trying to start saying Cherry Sprite.

Yes, we definitely did get lucky! And yeah, I'm kind of hooked on it now, as well! I LOVE SHIRLEY TEMPLES! I always called them that! People are weird to not know what that is!

Those burgers look excellent and huge onion rings are always okay in my book. I am so glad you ordered the No Way Jose because that's what I would get if I went again.

UGH I would love to have it for lunch right now! And yeah, I can't wait to go back there and have another ice cream. It's so tasty!

No ID? Are you on your way to get an adult drink in Epcot?! On a side note I have lost my ID and have no idea where it is. I *think* I had it on St. Patrick's Day, but that could've been my expired one. I called the restaurant we were at and the bartender hadn't found it. I don't want to go to the DMV. :headache: End rant.

Haha yes, yes I am! OH NO that's the worst with the losing the ID. I actually have to go to the DMV soon to change my license since I FINALLY changed my last name officially, haha. It won't be fun though.

I love Matt's keychain. You two have impeccable taste. Please take more adorable mirror shots everyday too. Andy would probably not be so cooperative with that.

Haha, it's such an awesome keychain! And yeah, Matt doesn't really love them but he'll do it when I ask.

Blisters can just go die. I hate them.

AGREED.

I love to color too! Embarrassing fact: Sometimes I photocopy the pictures in Riley's coloring books so we can print 2 to color and leave the original so we will have it to copy in the future. I'm a wee bit crazy. This normally only happens with her Disney coloring books.

HAHA NO, that is such a brilliant idea!! So smart!

SE :lovestruc:love:

Adult beverages, called it.

Heck yes.

Ahh, I miss Beaches & Cream! It's one of my favorite places at Disney. So cute in there and the desserts are heaven. Never ate an actual meal there but oh my do those onion rings look amazing! :cloud9:

Your sunset pic is BREATHTAKING! Wow!

It's wonderful! And I agree, the decor is very cute! The food is super delicious!

And thanks, it was a beautiful night there!

I love Matt's Muppets shirt! And I love the photos from each of the parks on the day of the Gauntlet!

Haha, SO many people commented on that shirt wondering where he got it! (Target).. And I agree, I like those photos a lot. They make me happy!

Better late than never! I just got up to date on your trip report, and I love it!! You and your hubby seem like such fun people, and your dog is adorable!

I look forward to reading the rest of your report.

Hey, like you said, it's never too late to join! And thank you, we like to laugh and smile a LOT, haha. We have two doggies, they're best buddies. Anya just doesn't like toys like Milo does. :goodvibes thanks for commenting!

Trying to keep this brief because I'm behind like 3 updates... (ahem, trying is the key word here) UGH! Anyways I know I already congratulated you but I'M GONNA DO IT AGAIN YAY CONGRATS! :woohoo:

Hahaha, it's okay, long comments are fun!! And thank you! I know, I am so freakin' excited and you were one of the first to congratulate me!!

Aww! Love the silly/cute hand photos! I bet the PP photog had a field day with yall on those poses hahah! Precious.

Hahaha, that's how we roll!

Omg hahaha! Seriously though, WHAT is with the intense water on Pirates these days? Crazy. Ya know, I would think that if it was just drizzling, the crowds would flock to Splash. I mean you're already kinda getting wet... ya know?

Hahaha, I do not know, but between the water explosions and the insane bursts of air, I feel like I get off of Pirates with messy hair! And yeah, I would think the same thing but maybe people think they'll get cold? I have no clue, but I love it because it keeps the crowds away!

HAHAH! I love Tom Haverford. He's obnoxious in a weirdly cute and hilarious way. Chicky chicky nug nugs!

Haha I love how he gets whiny and the way he says "NOOOOO!" It's ridiculous but cute.

Aw! The pic of you and Rachel is precious! :cutie: Love the unplanned pose on Space! Hahah how weird is that? I never know where the cameras are on there!

Yeah, I was glad I finally got a photo with her! And yeah, we are such dorks with the same pose. I finally figured out where the cameras were on it (they're at the beginning before you are flying away to your death)..

OMG. HAHAHAHAHA. :lmao: WHAT ON EARTH with that photo! Why do yall look so scared?!?! That is the funniest thing!

Matt makes hilarious faces to make me laugh. It's just how we are, hahaha. I was just VERY focused on shooting things!

Wait, your friends only got ONE DAY park tickets? Omg could not ever. I mean I've done only 2 days before but ONE? NOPE.

YEAH! I know, it was insane. But they weren't there for very long, so I guess that works! They ended up getting a pretty good tour of everything though!

YAY PP PHOTOS! I'm excited. They're all so cute! Hahah um okay, so there is like a glare or something in Minnie's mouth and it kinda looks like she has awkward teeth, is it just me? Odd. She's precious though with her little pose.

Hahahaha I didn't see that glare but that's kind of hilarious! She does have awkward teeth now. But yes, they are so cute and I was so happy to meet them!

I'm glad yall didn't attempt the Kitchen Sink because 2 people... omg. You need a group of like 10, I swear. If we hadn't gotten it in December, I was gonna order the No Way Jose! I'm kind of a chocolate/peanut butter FIEND. MMM! It looks delicious, but HUGE! I had no idea it was that big.

Haha we'd have gotten two bites and then fell over. Nooo way. I can't imagine doing it with any less than 10 after seeing your attempt! That No Way Jose is so good! Perfect to share after eating there, definitely.

Oh man, your blisters just don't sound fun, I'm sorry about that. I'm flat footed so I always get them like right up near my toes. OOF! Girl, there is seriously no shame in coloring books. Coloring like a boss.

No, they weren't. They were terrible, haha. So not fun. And I'm glad there's no shame! I LOVE COLORING BOOKS! The end.

We have eaten at Beaches and Cream a couple of times and ohmigod ...... it is so good !!! We had the Milky Way sundae and it was out of this world amazing. The kids love it there as well.

I know right?! I just love it! I was eyeing the Milky Way and I think I will have to try that one next time!!

Great update!
LOVE the sunset picture...its amazing!

your photopass pictures came out great....
never been to beaches and cream....its on my list...but its been on my list for the past 3 trips....doesn't help that my husband is lactose intolerant :rotfl2:

Thank you! You definitely should go there, it's so good! Bummer for your husband though because the ice cream is heavenly!

Oh Beaches and Cream. I love that place! I have yet to be disappointed by it. So yummy and so reasonably priced. I drooled when I saw your pictures of it.

I'm sorry about the blisters! When I got back from my trip in November, I had some trouble with that too for quite some time.

I know, it's just such a good experience. I wish I could be there right now! And yes, blisters are the worst. I even went in prepared with moleskin and everything and I swear it made them WORSE! But I survived.

Chapter Fourty-One: "ARE YOU DANI?!"
Day 10: January 27th, 2012

After getting off of SE, we met with M and A by the fountain and told them we needed to go check out Club Cool (mwahahaha)...

I explained the different sodas to them, trying not to give away the whole Beverly trick. I told them nonchalantly that Beverly was pretty good, and that resulted in the following photo sequence of M trying Beverly (while I secretly took photos of her drinking it)...

She laughed so hard after trying it and I showed her the photos. A said she wanted to try it, even though she was aware it tasted like poop.

Why is it so hilarious to pull the Beverly prank on unsuspecting people?! Perhaps because we've all been that unsuspecting person at one point or another...

We headed out of Club Cool and it was around 8:30 at this point, so we decided to go get margaritas in Mexico... On our way over, I had to run to the bathroom, and as I was coming out, I saw some random man talking to Matt and patting him on the shoulder. I quickly thought to myself that no, I do not know this man, why is he patting Matt? I walked over and Matt, M and A were all laughing.

Apparently the guy saw Matt's Duck Tales shirt and stopped, gasped, and asked Matt where he'd gotten it. Matt told him he could find it in MouseGears, and that's when the guy patted Matt on the shoulders, closed his eyes and thanked him VERY much from the heart. It was bizarre but also hilarious.

Matt had gotten NONSTOP compliments on his Duck Tales shirt all day, both from guests AND CMs! It was funny because we'd seen the shirt at multiple shops during our trip, but people just seemed like they'd never seen that or his Chip and Dale Rescue Rangers shirt EVER. I think Matt enjoyed the compliments. :)

We arrived in Mexico, where M and A insisted they pay for my margarita as a small thank you for taking them around Disney World all day, which was really nice! Funny part is I didn't need my ID after all. Guess I finally look over 21, haha, though it's nice being ID'ed every so often.

Anyway, I went with the Fiesta margarita, because guys, it's a party in your mouth!

If I remember correctly, it was mango, strawberry and lemon. VERY VERY good and totally worth the $9.50 or whatever it was. It lasted forever! We decided to find a spot to watch Illuminations from, and took a few photos of us together..

4b9bdb3f.jpg

M ended up sending a few people back at work the photo of us together, and everyone said it looked like we were having fun!

Soon enough, Illuminations began..

M and A really enjoyed it. They had ended up not going to HS and instead took a nap, so they hadn't eaten dinner yet and were pretty hungry. I suggested a stop at the CS in Mexico since it was nearby, and they bought nachos and we sat and chatted while they ate.

After they were finished, we slowly walked through WS, and stopped in Germany so Matt could get a beer and a pretzel..

Mmmm, that Oktoberfest beer is DELIGHTFUL! I made sure he got the awesome souvenir mug, of course, and we both enjoyed the beer and pretzel. While M and A were shopping, I ran and got a picture of one of my favorite things in Germany...

eb2123d5.jpg

PICKLE TREE!!! (I love pickles)..

M and A ended up running to Italy to get wine, while Matt and I headed over to the little bridge area, and we took some nice photos until people showed up and wanted to be on the bridge...

We made our way through France, then went to England so we could talk on the phones. I'd told them about how I'd call people on the phones, so I did that while we all giggled like 5 years olds.

Then M and A wanted to get photos at the phone booth, and while I was standing near one the phone rang! I had 5 minute phone call with a girl who talked like a Valley girl and asked if I'd watched The Bachelor (random!).. When I asked if the girl was enjoying her trip in Disney they claimed they were in San Francisco.. Pretty sure I heard them near a crowd, so that's why I asked..

Now that I look back, this would've been way better if they'd pretended they were like, DJ or Stephanie Tanner, hahaha.

After my bizarre phone call, we started to walk to Canada... when suddenly I hear someone run up to me from behind and ask, "ARE YOU DANI?!"

I turned around and didn't recognize the woman, but she quickly told me her name was Erin and she recognized me from my PTR on the DIS! HOW FUNNY! Haha, I felt like a celebrity in that moment, in a weird way! Unfortunately she didn't tell me what her DISname was, though I think it might've been rudegirle? Not sure, but she was super nice and said she just wanted to say hi to me super quickly, and then ran away.

M and A were confused by this, so Matt kind of explained it to them quickly that I basically posted online, etc. They just thought it was funny, more than anything else!

I, in the meantime, totally thought I was cool because someone recognized me from here! Haha.

After hanging out in Canada, we headed out the International Gateway exit and said our goodbyes to M and A. They thanked us again for being their Disney tour guides, and told us they really had a ton of fun.

Matt and I hobbled back to our room and crashed. We were totally exhausted but ended up having a really fun day!

Tomorrow is our last day in Disney World. Technically we don't leave til Sunday, but we're up at 4am for an early flight, so tomorrow really is our final day in the parks. Such a bummer, since I don't want this TR to end (though you'll get to follow us back home, so I guess we do have 2 more days of updates), but the show must go on!

Margaritas and Illuminations - that sounds like the perfect Epcot evening to me!! :thumbsup2

Too funny that you were able to trick your friends with the Beverly! It's weird, Wingnut actually kind of likes it!! :confused3

Yay for being recognized from the Dis!

Okay, here's the thing about my weird husband. I pointed out the Rescue Ranger and Duck Tales shirts to him, and he was like, "Meh, I think that was after my time."

He's not even 32 yet. I know I'm younger (28, will be 29 on April 4...also Brynn's birthday, BTW), but REALLY!?!?! If your childhood did not include these shows, it must be so sad! And I can say this with full confidence because we did not even have cable when I was a child and I had to watch it at my grandma's house or at the babysitter's house and could not enjoy it at home. In my mind, that was a tragedy. But a life without it?? Catastrophic!

I'm not really sure how I feel about being married to a man who does not feel giddy at the site of these shirts. Seven years I've been married to this man! And now I learn this!?!

Also, I am trying a "party in my mouth" next trip:thumbsup2. And I'm pretty sure I'm making my children try Beverly. I am an awesome mom.

Holy cow, that Epcot night sounds awesome! I seriously need to be in WDW like, RIGHT NOW!

Any margarita at Epcot is like a party in your mouth. For sure! :thumbsup2

How awesome that you got recognized! I would feel like I was famous or something. I have sadly never been recognized at WDW. Oh well.

Hi Dani!
I love reading your trip report!! :goodvibes
I hope to stay at the Beach Club someday! I bet the walk to Epcot is perfect.

OH the Beverley photos. CLASSIC! I only wish someone in my family had known to take photos of us trying it (we tried them all not knowing ANYTHING about the sodas. SO FUNNY!)

I don't know anything about alcohol but hooray for your margaritas! Yours looks like a smoothie so it looks good hahah.

ILLUMINATIONS! Love it so so much. And that pretzel looks delicious! OOOH YUM... soft pretzels are one of my favorite things ever!

Hahha every time you say "M and A did this and that" I always think of me and my sister. I'm Marissa, she's Anna. Hahha. Random. Sorry bout THAT!

Umm your phone call sounds awkward! Hahaha UM, THEORY. Maybe they were on the San Francisco section of Streets of America... pretending! Hmmm? :rotfl:

That's awesome that you got recognized! Hahha I want to be recognized too! Awesome!

Oh my gosh. I can't believe you're almost finished! Ugh.

It is super cool that you got recognised, I would love that:cool1:
I wonder that she's not following your TR now looking for herself, I would be.

I love the pickle tree !!! I bought a pickle ornament one year in October and got it home safely (it's very delicate) and when I went to put it on our Christmas Tree it slipped out of my hand and fell to the floor and smashed into a million pieces !!! So I of course had to buy one the next year and I still have it and am very careful about putting it up every year.

Your trip report has been such a joy to read, I don't want it to end.

Margaritas and Illuminations - that sounds like the perfect Epcot evening to me!! :thumbsup2

It was a great night! I'm glad we did it and will definitely have to do it again on our next trip!

Too funny that you were able to trick your friends with the Beverly! It's weird, Wingnut actually kind of likes it!! :confused3

It was pretty funny, not gonna lie. I can't believe he likes it! I have to admit at first it initially doesn't taste too bad, but that aftertaste is just gross.

Yay for being recognized from the Dis!

Haha it was just a weird but kind of exciting experience! I can't say I didn't feel special!

Also, I am trying a "party in my mouth" next trip:thumbsup2. And I'm pretty sure I'm making my children try Beverly. I am an awesome mom.

Okay yeah, that IS weird! He was totally at the right age for it! Matt loved them and he will be 30 in June this year. Funny part is, while I liked them, I was not super into them like Matt was. But regardless, when I saw them, I was totally telling Matt he just HAD to buy them.

Good call on the margarita! It's so good. And I'm sorry, if you don't make your kids go through a Beverly experience, I mean, come on now. Every kid must try it. Guess I'm going to be Mom of the year over here when I make my future kids try it, hahaha.

Holy cow, that Epcot night sounds awesome! I seriously need to be in WDW like, RIGHT NOW!

It was a blast. I wish I could be in Disney World right now so bad. I miss it dearly... I swear it's like, you come back and you're okay for awhile, but then a few months later it hits you REALLY hard as to how much you miss it!

so much fun!

and I love pickles too, yum yum!

Pickles are the best. As are Christmas trees full of pickles!

Any margarita at Epcot is like a party in your mouth. For sure! :thumbsup2

How awesome that you got recognized! I would feel like I was famous or something. I have sadly never been recognized at WDW. Oh well.

Haha it's the truth, margaritas are the best!

I did feel like I was sort of famous or something! It was totally hilarious and awesome. It would be kind of awesome if it happened again!

Hi Dani!
I love reading your trip report!! :goodvibes
I hope to stay at the Beach Club someday! I bet the walk to Epcot is perfect.

Hello! I'm totally glad you are enjoying my TR! :) Beach Club is truly wonderful! I am hoping we'll be back there on our next trip, but we'll see. The walk to Epcot was amazing! We loved being a 5 minute walk from there!

OH the Beverley photos. CLASSIC! I only wish someone in my family had known to take photos of us trying it (we tried them all not knowing ANYTHING about the sodas. SO FUNNY!)

Hahaha, it's pretty amazing. I think there is something to just hilarious about that first time someone tries it.

I don't know anything about alcohol but hooray for your margaritas! Yours looks like a smoothie so it looks good hahah.

I'm not a huge drinker myself (well, I do enjoy a nice glass of wine or beer on occasion) but I will say that these margaritas were magnificent! It pretty much was an alcoholic smoothie.

ILLUMINATIONS! Love it so so much. And that pretzel looks delicious! OOOH YUM... soft pretzels are one of my favorite things ever!

I love Illuminations, too! That pretzel was super super good, especially with the beer.

Hahha every time you say "M and A did this and that" I always think of me and my sister. I'm Marissa, she's Anna. Hahha. Random. Sorry bout THAT!

Hahaha that is really funny! I would rather just use their names but I don't want to be awkward and have them like find this TR or something.

Umm your phone call sounds awkward! Hahaha UM, THEORY. Maybe they were on the San Francisco section of Streets of America... pretending! Hmmm? :rotfl:

It seriously WAS awkward! The girl wouldn't just talk to me like a normal person and so I tried to play along for awhile but then I just got tired and I think hung up. BUT YES, maybe she was in that section!

That's awesome that you got recognized! Hahha I want to be recognized too! Awesome!

Hahaha it was so random and fast that I felt bad because I was sort of confused at first. Plus she just ran away sooo I didn't get a chance to talk to her or anything! But yes, I did feel like a little celebrity!

Oh my gosh. I can't believe you're almost finished! Ugh.

:( So sad about it, too. I still have to write the next few days, so that's good. But I just don't want it to end...

It is super cool that you got recognised, I would love that:cool1:
I wonder that she's not following your TR now looking for herself, I would be.

Haha I thought so! Hopefully it'll happen again on my next trip! DISmeets are so fun! I don't think she is on here very much (if it's her), but I was thinking the same thing!

That's so sad about your poor pickle, after taking such care! Those pickles tend to be pretty fragile. We have one now, too! And thank you, I really don't want it to end. :( But I have to finish it! Gotta start working on Day 11 here soon.

Oh what a mean trick with the Beverly! I SO didn't do the same exact thing to Anna... Oh wait, I did. SO worth it! :lmao:

Matt for sure picked the 2 coolest shirts ever. Definite attention grabbers. :thumbsup2

I split one of those margaritas with my mom, it was excellent! I thought it was mango, strawberry and original lime. :confused3 I can't remember.

I'm glad you made sure Matt got the souvenir mug. :) The pretzel looks yummy too. The pickle tree is cute, but I despise pickles. I know, I'm probably un-American because of that.

Cute bridge pictures! I really regret not spending enough time in the WS. I didn't even get to call the phones!

I remember you texting me about being recognized! You're a DIS celeb!

Hi guys. Apologies for no update today; I didn't have time to do it last night. Well, I guess I did, but I chose playing a board game with Matt over sitting down and writing my TR, soooo, yeah, I'd say it's a pretty good excuse (oh, and I won the game, so even better!)..

Anyway, the reason I'm writing this is because I have some pretty darn awesome news...

:yay: :yay: :yay: WE ARE GOING BACK TO DISNEY WORLD!!!:yay: :yay: :yay:

Can I just state how wonderful it is to have a ticker back in my signature?! AND THAT IT INCLUDES BOTH THE MONORAIL AND WALL-E?!

To be fair, we've had this planned since we returned. However, this trip will be different, because as of right now, we are actually planning on bringing two of our best friends (who are married to each other) with us.. I've actually mentioned them both in this TR.. They're the ones who were taking care of our dogs/watched our house during this fun trip!

Quick story... This will be our only opportunity to go with our friends, kid-free, because we're planning on trying for kids sometime in 2013 (I know, crazy, it slightly weirds me out a bit to say that, haha).. So this will probably be our last big trip to Disney World for a few years.

That's not to say that I won't try to sneak in a trip or two in to Disneyland (I've never been there but it's a LOT more inexpensive of a trip for us since we're on the west coast!)..

Oh, and as of right now, we're planning on being there from January 24th - February 3rd, 2013. This MIGHT change, but for now we're sticking with those dates.

I'll get into all the nitty gritty details (there's already DUH-RAMAAAA happening; no, planning is not always sunshine and rainbows) in my PTR when I'm done with this TR, but I just HAD to share that yes, we are returning, and though it won't be for another 9 months or so, WE WILL BE BACK! :)

Aiming to have the first part of Day 11 up tomorrow, so stay tuned!
