Used an awesome National code for my April trip!

Now I remember! The Emerald Aisle is a separate aisle of cars in addition to the car class aisles. I usually troll through the Executive Aisle, the Emerald Aisle and the aisles Full Size and below (I am an Emerald Club Executive and get a FS when I book a MS) and then choose the car that sparks my fancy. Sometimes I'll take a Compact because it's a cute car, much to my DH's chagrin.

:thumbsup2

I am Executive level as well. You have to book mid-size to get Emerald Aisle service but can take any car from Emerald (or if your Executive anything from Emerald or Executive :) )

The Alamo rates for April haven't dropped but Dollar has. We have a 8 day rental, midsize for 165 with a free upgrade from BJ's. So, we'll be happy with a full size or a midsize. Hope this helps if anyone else is looking.

Minivan for $266.20 for 4/28/12 - 5/5/12, using KLM ID and coupon ND8578ADT.
Midsize SUV $203.47, same dates and codes.

Not Robin....but I'm guessing Full Size and Mid Size.....

Thanks, and I should know this!!!! LOL Guess I had a brain freeze at 2:45am. We go by different definitions. FS in our world= Fcar MS in our world=Icar.

I too, would be very interested in finding out if this code works easily at MCO. I'll be heading down in early May for a graduation and I haven't been to FL since I dropped her off four years ago. I really prefer to book w/ National as I've always done previously, but the prices are crazy right now and I need to book an SUV to move her stuff. This code gives me a good price, but I'd like to know if it's legit.

Also, if I sign my dad up for the EC now, will he get his card by early May? He's only going for 2 days, but he wants to use the EA if possible.

Thanks!

Thanks for the code! It got me a mid size for $203 for April 28 to May 5, for a mid size, I am an Emerald member. Also used National's $25 off weekly rental code.

I did sign up for the KLM membership, so it is all above board. I will bring a printout of that information with me.

For an SUV, I got this AVIS email:

Rent an Intermediate SUV for as low as $22 a weekend day or $149 a week or a Standard SUV for $25 a weekend day or $169 a week until June 30, 2012.

The code is AWD S767700

I am not using it myself, this trip, because I only need a mid size. There some dates that are excluded, probably the Easter weeks, but otherwise it has worked for me.

We used the code the for our Feb 18-25th trip with no problem...I think. We booked as Emerald Club members and were able to go right to the aisle and pick our vehicle. (A Kia Sportage with 6,000 miles) Upon returning the vehicle, for some reason the garage person couldn't give us a receipt so they said it would be emailed it to us but we still haven't gotten one. :confused3 When I log into our EA acct online and pull up the details for that rental it shows that we paid the quoted price of $221.xx but that the total was $423.xx with a balance due of $202.xx, yet our credit card was only charged $221.xx on the day we returned and it was manually entered. The difference seems to be all the "included" extras. No other charges have been run on our CC since then so I guess its ok. :confused3

You may want to check out Budget and the Wendie Code: "D454300": https://www.budget.com/budgetWeb/ht...l?&ICID=homepage_billboard&IID=wendie_sp_2012 which will give you a SUV for just about the same price. Add on the $25 off coupon MUWZ023 found here: http://www.budget.com/budgetWeb/htm...25offwkly.html?BCD=X793200&CPN=MUWZ023&logo=1 and you get an SUV for $175 with all taxes. Note, it's not clear that they will subtract the coupon but if they don't, you still have the same rate as the KLM rate with no worries.

Have you spoken with National?

Thanks for posting. I passed on this code myself. It reminds me of codes of the past. It was also a pain to cancel. It would not let me cancel online and I had to contact National to cancel it. Right now I'm holding reservations for Alamo, but still hoping for some lower price with National as my time gets closer (4 weeks away). Let us know if this situation changes and you get charged (which I hope doesn't happen). I'm sure alot of folks will appreciate the "heads up."

If your Dad signs up for EC, he will get a number immediately after the sign up is completed. Have him write it down. He will not need the physical card.

The same thing happened to us. We returned our car on 13 March. We got a receipt when we returned the car and it matched our rental contract but the receipt that was e-mailed had the extra charges. I called National and then e-mailed them so I could get a reply in writing and both times they said that we were good to go and would not be charged the amount that was showing due on the e-mail receipt. I've been keeping an eye on my credit card to make sure I'm not charged and so far so good.

I've just booked using the KLM code (and signed up for Flying Blue ...wonder if they'll send some kind of card some day). I'm not going until November so by then, a lot of you will have rented the car by then so I'll be watching this thread closely.

It more than halved what I was getting for November so I'm happy.

Are you an Emerald Club member? A previous post mentioned that the amount owing was showing when they pulled up the rental online - I'm wondering if it gets zeroed out at some point??

The very same thing happened to me yesterday at MCO. I'm an EC member and the rental agreement at takeout and checking back in were fine--no discrepancies. When I looked at the follow up email receipt from National that is sent a few minutes later, I showed an "Amount due" of $152! I immediately called customer service and the agent couldn't figure it out either. He thought that maybe that amount would be charged back to Air France, (the code I used and yes, had signed up before my trip). He said that my credit card would not be charged the additional amount. But like others, I will be watching to make sure. :confused3.

Big thanks for this code! I booked today through EC after joining Flying Blue. Needed an SUV so booked a midsize SUV with the KHL code and Mousesavers $35 coupon and got a price of $198.73 total for 5/2-5/8 at MCO. Level of Service was Emerald Reserve, so no need to go to the counter. So happy to be under $200! My price with the BJ's Warehouse contract ID plus the same coupon was $394.69, so this particular frequent flyer contract ID saves quite a bit.

I printed out the Flying Blue confirmation email they sent me after I joined which, although it's in French, has my ID number on it. Also, if you are logged into your Flying Blue account, you can click on "Manage my Account" and then "Lost your Flying Blue Card?" and you will be able to print a copy of your Flying Blue ID card to bring with you in case your official Flying Blue member card doesn't arrive in time for your trip.

So far it seems that the price quoted by National is the price people are being charged. I assume KHL/Air France is eating the cost of the extra fees at least for now. I'll take the chance to save the money. If things change, I won't use that particular code anymore.

Three cheers for the DIS! Haven't posted on here in years due to having no opportunity to take a vacation, and the first time I look around for codes, I find a winner. Thanks so much! :worship:

I reserved a 9 day minivan rental from National 10/13-10/21 for $367.84. I used $30 AARP coupon code ND3Z11ZDQ, as most of the other codes expired before October. When I put in my emerald club number, the price did not change. Reservation confirmation without Emerald Club says "Emerald Club members procede to Emerald Club area."

I also have a Sixt reservaton for a minivan for $362. Better keep a backup for now.

Budget travelocity code for minivan is $415.69. I do not have any coupons to apply that do not expire.

Anyone think this is a good rate for a 9 day minivan in October? It is still very early, so I will check checking of course.
