Let's be Spontaneous!January '12- Sunrise Breakfast and EMH! 2 part update(3/11)

Hmmm... Fantasyland to Jungle Cruise???? Apparently you must have wanted to get on a boat, but didn't want "that" song stuck in your head.:rolleyes1

It's a shame the stone won. I've heard stories of people pulling the sword out, but I've never seen it.

I'm not sure exactly how long the little boats have been there, but it seems like they've been there as long as I can remember.:confused3

Don't worry, that song appears later! :rotfl2: I love that the sword will move sometimes, I think that is super fun. It's the little random touches like that, that make me love Disney all the more.

Great pictures! You are making me want to start my own trip report!

Do it! I am so enjoying recording all of this, plus I love that people are enjoying reading it!

I just found your report and wanted to say Hi.

I absolutely love the wedding picture on the bottom of your page. Beautiful!

After our lovely snack, we wandered back toward Liberty Square. We peeked around the Christmas shop, and started the process of picking our 2012 ornament to take home!

We stopped in the area right before the bridge to the hub to get a Photo Pass done!

The photographer saw me fiddling with my phone, and offered to take a photo of us with my phone as well! What a nice guy! I love that even if you don’t intent to by the prints or CDs that they will use your camera as well!

After our photo we headed to see some happy haunts!

IMG_5981.jpg

The interactive line looked packed, and we had seen it in May, so we decided to head straight into the attraction.

IMG_5982.jpg

When we left, they were still at 999 happy haunts. Thank goodness we avoided that trap!

However, we got caught in another Disney trap next.

IMG_5983.jpg

The 5 minute wait wasn’t really a wait, unless you went down the right side of the walk path. We went to the left and walked on, past a line of people on the left. I kinda felt bad (yes I know, a weakness) :sad2: but hey no one told those people they had to go to the right! In fact, there was a sign that said, please use both sides!!!!

IMG_5984.jpg

The clock here freaked Josh out pretty badly, because right before we left he had been playing the Small World level of Epic Mickey… and the clock in that game is FREAKY :rotfl2:

We got stuck long enough in the last room for me to take this photo, and post it to my Facebook.

Josh and I have the same feelings about this ride… I could lose a few rooms and we would like it more. But it is worth a ride through if you are looking for something to do!

We decided that now was as good a time as any to use our Pan Fast Passes, and when I saw the wait time I decided that I wanted a silly photo! I grabbed a nice Cast Member who was about are age, and he laughed when I told him what I wanted for a photo!

IMG_5992.jpg

We headed in to soar in the clouds!

IMG_5993.jpg

IMG_5995.jpg

We went from Peter Pan to Snow White, and had a lovely ride. I am a bit sad this ride is going away, but I think I am going to like the new ride better!

The Dream Along with Mickey show was in full swing when we got out of Snow White ( I think a better question, is when isn’t that show going on?!) So we wandered into the castle, and I had a chance to look at the beautiful mosaics on the wall without the crowd! Though the Cast Member guarding the way was very nervous that we were too close to the rope!

IMG_6015.jpg

IMG_6017.jpg

As we exited the castle the fireworks for the show went off, and we had soot rain down on us. Ewww. So we ducked into Castle Couture, so I could see if there was a sweatshirt that I liked! One of the few benefits of being the size I am is that I can buy girls clothing in the Disney line, so I am sometimes able to find things that are cuter, and holy cow cheaper.

We didn’t have success this time, but I wasn’t going to stop looking!
Of course everyone needs a photo of the Cinderella fountain!

By this time, my tummy was starting to rumble!

Now you're catching on!:thumbsup2

::yes::

Great game, and it makes that ride even more scary than it already is. :scared1: :rotfl2:

I think IASW is about the right length. The song is annoyingly catchy at any length, but I like the fact that you can actually sit down and relax for a while on that ride. Unlike a 2 minute ride you have almost everywhere else, this one usually lasts almost as long, or longer than the wait.

I can't wait to see those photos!!!! :cool1:

We love the game!!!!

True, many of the rides are so short, it makes me sad!

Just found your TR. I'm in!! I love those cheesy classics shots. One trip my DH and I got 6 of those red cards they give you when you wait in line (they are to determine if the wait times are correct... I think :)) and we took a photo with each one. :rotfl2:

i know i am soooo slow in getting pics up to fb. i havent loaded any from dd's bday party. i just had to order the extension for my photopass pics too. i despise that site with how slow it is.

I have gotten to the point with the photopass where I just do all the edits I can in like 2-3 sittings, then I just order it!

I am so glad you are joining in :cool1: Welcome!!!!!!

I am always happy to share cheesy and bad photos :lmao:

This update will the saddest of them all. We had our first truly disappointing meal at Disney. We don’t expect too much, but this meal just was kinda gross.

I was getting hungry, and had my heart set on Columbia Harbor House, however it was closed for dinner.

So we decided to head over to Pecos Bill’s. We had had a snacky meal there during our 2010 trip, it was decent, and there wasn’t a line out the door, so in we went.

IMG_6019.jpg

The nice greeter lady at the door gave us a hand held menu

IMG_6020.jpg

Only half of the ordering bays were open, and there was almost no line at them. I was a bit surprised by this, because it was 5:45. I was expecting to have to fight a dinner crowd! Maybe this should have been our warning?

Joshua ordered the Angus Cheeseburger with fries a bottle of water, and carrot cake. I got the Deluxe cheeseburger (hold the BBQ sauce please!) with chocolate cake and a lemonade.

IMG_6021.jpg

We went to the toppings bar and got all sorts of things that would be yummy, like cheese sauce, mushroom, lettuce, ranch for my fries and tons of ketchup. We then found a nice little table out on the patio so that we could enjoy our dinner as the sun set!

Josh loved the condiment bar, but he was not impressed with the burger. “It was dry, wasn’t good” is what my notebook says he thought that night when we got back to the room.

I was just mad, the onion ring on my burger was pure grease, the bun was a nasty level of dry, and the meat had 0 flavor. I ate all my fries, and picked at the burger, healthy right?

As we were eating dinner we had a big choice to make, stick it out for another couple of hours and see Wishes, or go back to the hotel and relax, because we were going to be hitting Extra Magic Hours the next morning, and had a late dinner plan.

We decided that since we would be back later in the week, we would head out after dinner, shopping down Main St. just a bit.
We finished our yucky dinner, and headed out.

We of course stopped to get a Photo Pass photo done on the way down Main St.

Look at the lady in the blue in our photo! How awkward is this!!

Photo0066FourBySix.jpg

We popped into the emporium to see what they had for sweatshirts, and I found one that I feel in love with! However, they didn’t have an XL out, so I went to find someone to ask, and Josh waited by the rack. Someone asked him if they could help him, about the same time I founds someone, so the two Cast Members met up in the back looking for the same thing!

Either way, I found the perfect sweatshirt, and we continued to shop! I love that you can shop through the different stores, and take stuff from one room to the next. We try to buy stuff in batches, because we have the Disney Visa, so we the the 10% off when we do! The receipt says we also bought a scrapbook pack that night ( I LOVE to scrapbook), postcards, and something else, that I can’t figure out what the code on the receipt means!

After our mini shopping spree, we stopped for just a moment at the exit to say goodbye.

IMG_6023.jpg

As we passed Guest Relations a nice lady approached us, and asked if we would complete a survey on our dining experiences in the park that day! I heartily agreed. She noticed that I had pins, and asked me what I collected. While we filled out the survey, she ran around to several different places and found me 3-4 mermaids to choose from! I happily traded her a boring pin for a new mermaid pin!!

I told them in my survey that I wish I had had McDonalds rather than Pecos Bill’s but that I had enjoyed everything else! I figure if I don’t tell them, who will!?

As we exited, we stopped again to grab another Photo Pass photo, this time with the Let the Memories Begin sign!

Photo0071FourBySix.jpg

We had beat the crowd to the bus (part of the reason we decided to leave early) and while we waited, Josh got a picture of me in my new sweatshirt!

IMG_6024.jpg

We headed back to our room, and changed really quickly. When we got to our room, we had a very pleasant surprise! My sister, who is the DVC owner, had called and scheduled a full house keeping for us that day! We had fresh towels, soap and coffee, she really rocks at surprise!!! I was so excited, partially because we love to take the little soaps home with us!!

Once we had our swim suits on, we headed for the Mara. We filled our cups, and then we relaxed in the large hot tub with some other nice people for a while. It was such a relaxing evening, and we were in bed so early that I wasn’t sorry we didn’t stay for Wishes that night. While I was a bit sad we didn’t see it, when getting up the next morning wasn’t painful, I was thankful! On our way back up to our room we stopped into the Mara again, grabbed some pastries for Breakfast, and filled our mugs for the next morning!

This guy was outside our window as I got ready for bed (it’s giraffe, the photo is really dark, sorry)

I agree with Pecos Bills! I used to love it, but the past few times have been pretty awful. :sad2:

I ate at CHH for the first time in a while on our President's day trip and I really enjoyed the fried shrimp platter. I think I have a new go-to CS at the MK!

Your evening sounds awesome! One of my big regrets from our Oct trip at AKL was that we weren't able to log any pool time. Well I guess it just gives us an excuse to go back. I'm secretly planning a land and sea extravaganza for after DH returns from deployment, and I think I'm going to book AKL. We had so much fun there on our mini trip and I'm sure DS would LOVE the animals!

We did eat at CHH later in the trip, I wish we had done it both meals now :sad2: We have been talking about doing a land sea trip as well!!!! I say go for it!

I'm sorry you had such a bad experience with the food at Pecos Bill's. We ate there in Nov and had a really good meal. I had burgers at a few different QS places on property that week, and the one there was just as good as any of them. I hope this may have just been a bad day there. :confused3

I've been lurking and have now finally remembered to sub! I'm sorry your Pecos Bill meal wasn't that great; we were going to grab some food there our last trip and then skipped it. I'm glad we made that decision!

It was just so blahhhh. Josh ordered a burger elsewhere in the week and it was much better! Maybe it was just an off day :confused3

Glad you are subbing in!

I figure that if that is the worst meal I ever have at Disney, my life is pretty good :lmao:
