Sheraton Vistana Resort Questions

I know I read it somewhere, but I have been following this thread for so long, I can't remember how long ago I read it to begin looking for it. I am coming up oon 30 days out pretty soon and I need to put my requests into Diamond Lane. MIL booked for me through RCI (cash not points exchange). She sent me the RCI confirmation, but I don't see a Sheraton Reservation number on it. Correct me if I am wrong in thinking that I need that Sheraton # to use Diamond Lane. If so, anyone know how I get that number vs. the RCI number? TIA!

They just need MIL's RCI account number (which should be on the reservation).

We are exchanging through RCI to SVR this April.
Is there a certain section you're put in if exchanging? Just curious how to find out ahead of time. When will they be able to tell me?

And our room at Orange Lake has 2 bedrooms that sleeps 8. I noticed that some sections of this resort have 2 twin beds in second bedroom. Do I need to tell them I need 2 full size beds NOT twins. Thanks for any help :)

You won't know until you arrive. Rooms are allocated roughly a few days in advance, but they will flex if people show up early with special requests. That can leave less desirable units left at the end of the day. There aren't alot of "bad" units, so there are no sections to avoid.

If you really need full beds send a diamond request for that. Courts and Falls have the twin beds in the second bedroom. To be able to request a room change, you don't want to be arriving very late in the day, so plan to be there by early to mid-afternoon if you can.

Enjoy your stay!

Can anyone tell me where the best place is to look for pricing on this hotel - if you are not a timeshare owner...

Thanks

Dreams Unlimited here at the DIS has a good deal. At the very top of the page, just click on Dreams Unlimited Travel and you should be able to find it. AllEarsNet.com also has a good deal. I booked through Last Minute Travel (google it and it will pop up). All reputable companies... the first two will get you reservations direct with Vistana. LMT is a wholesaler so you don't have direct reservations, but I called and confirmed they have my reservation and it was there within 24 hours.

luvsvacations Try checking Expedia.com periodically, depending on when you are going and how booked the resort is , you can get great prices if you are staying more than 3 days. Although we have been booked in since October, I still go through Expedia website to find nightly deals. So if you don't get a good price one night, try the following night. One thing that I have noticed is that if you log in late on Friday and Saturday nights you can save $40 -$50 a night on a two bedroom at this resort, but they are gone with in min.Good luck

I should also add that be very aware that if you are receiving a discount at any resort in this area, your third party booking may required you to take the time share presentation.BE CLEAR ON THIS BEFORE BOOKING! You have to ask yourself, is this worth tying up a half a day to save a few dollars? If you do agree make sure you receive your discount voucher or have them sign off before you attend the sales pitch, this is all about selling you a time share and once you are seated regardless with what company you are dealing with , these people can be very aggressive. If you do agree to this and the presentation is posted as 90 minutes?? set your watch and leave after the 90 minutes, unless you are willing to buy that day. I can say this from experience this will keep you from having a couple of unpleasant days while on vacation.

Thanks for the info. Guess I am not really sure what a good price is. I am looking at Aug 17 for 9 nights. The best price I have seen so far is $1500.

August weather can be brutal in Florida.I would make sure that you can cancel up to two days before arrival. If you are paying $150-$160 a night for a two bdrm. at SVR this is a reasonable price. If you are only needing one bdrm.I have seen them as low as $89 a night.I have visited other resorts in this area, and in my opinion for our needs(family of 5),considering the magnificent upgrades just completed is so far the nicest resort. Our unpleasant experience at that place down the road last year, was made right by the quality (cleanliness/staff) of SVR. I will let it be known what this visit is like beginning next week.

They just need MIL's RCI account number (which should be on the reservation).

Are you referring to MIL's RCI ID# or is there another number that I am supposed to have? I don't see any other numbers on the RCI confirmation.

Thanks!

I have seen a couple of on line maps - but is there a resort map that I can print and look at. I have seen a couple and tried to copy them but they are impossible to read. Or possible a brochure that I can download and print -
something easy ???? I just made a reservation for August and would love to "view" the resort.

Thanks

That's the one. They can locate it based on that number and date. RCI doesn't put numbers on the reservations - thinking about it, it's probably because it wouldn't match the reservation numbers assigned by the resort since each resort would have its own reservation system. An extra number would just cause more confusion.

luvsvacations - I'll see if I can post a decent resolution scan to my PB account later and post the link for you (and everyone else).

luvsvacations,

I had a feeling that PBucket would downsize my post, and it does so considerably. If you click through the link below, you'll get a lower resolution version of the map (about 90% reduced).

If you want me to e-mail a higher resolution version (pdf, tif or jpg), just send me a PM with your coordinates, I'd be happy to send it along.

The map:

Note, this is the 2010 version. In 2011 they corrected an error on buildings 44/45 (should be red). Couldn't find any other differences.

OK sorry - I think I am really confused. I thought when I made the ressie it was for 12401 International Dr - looks like I made it at 8800 Vistana Centre Dr - but when I looke at the photos it mentions the Cascades, Fountains - had a picture of Zimmies which I thought was at International Dr - are they one in the same ??? Thanks again. I see 2 different names Sheraton Vistana Villages and Sheraton Vistana Resort Villas (which is apparnetly where I made my ressie) Confused in Michigan!! Thanks

Sheraton Vistana Villages and Sheraton Vistana Resort are two seperate places. 8800 is the address for SVR and you are in the correct thread to research the Sheraton Vistana Resort. Have a great trip!

So I should call Diamond Lane? Or can I do my requests online?

We will be here the 3rd week of March. Does anyone know if the game room issues "tickets" on games like ski-ball. If so, is there a counter to redeem those tickets for prizes?

In one of the pictures it looks like they offer ski-ball, but my son loves collecting tickets and exchanging them for the prizes. Also, in what section of the resort would this be located.

Thanks!

Stupid question time, but this inquiring mind wants to know......Is it possible to make payments on this resort, like Disney, that way its paid off way inadvance? If not, thats ok. Would just make my life a little easier if its possible.
Thanks!
