A Carnival Cruise.....With A Chicken?

Well, after touring a sub, it was time for some outdoor site seeing. So we took the free bus over the bridge to see what was around town. We probably drove about a mile and got off and there was pikes pier, not the same as before but got some pictures. It sure was empty for early afternoon. Here are some pics.

There were a few ships you coud tour but decided to wait and spend my money over on catalina. It was a beautiful day.

I love boats!!!

After all that walking around we decided to take the free bus to Wally World to get our soda for our cruise. By the time we got back it was almost time for the splendor for her sail away and then get ready for our meet with Alison and Fran.

I was thinking Hmm.. I think the splendor left about 5pm so Chris and I went out on deck and was waiting for her sailaway. Now I confess I also frequent another forum for cruising. And there is a roll call forum for your cruises. I got to talking with this really nice lady...Foxesden1, she was staying on the Queen Mary as well. The splendor was late leaving, but while standing there this lady walked and mentioned that the Splendor was late in leaving and she figured out who I was and then I got the picture of who she was. What a way to have a dis meet...she does frequent this site as well..

She has a lovely family. But she came out by herself. We told her we would meet her and her family by the check in for our cruise in the morning.

We said our good byes until tomorrow. Now its time for the next dis meet, with two wonderful ladies. Okay Alison, I think Chris has found another favorite place to eat besides Famous Daves. It was an excellent choice and the food was excellent and prices were awesome. I was glad to have gone there. I will go back. I only took a few photos, as I wanted Alison to be able to share her own pics and take on things. We really enjoyed our time with both of you, and thanks for picking us up. It is nice meeting people when you spend time talking with them on a forum. Here are a few pics. I hate myself in pictures.

I'll be on the lookout for it then. Loving the report and the pics. The last few times out to CA we've wanted to stop by the Queen Mary. I've even priced out the Carnival cruise before that your doing.

All caught up now. The Queen Mary is a beautiful ship. I love the woodwork. I think I was on it one day as a kid but would need to confirm with my Dad to be sure. The sub scared me a little. When I saw Chris in the bed, I thought I would not feel well sleeping there. Loving all the food porn. I have always wanted to eat at Dave's too, because I see commercials for it all the time. I wonder if there is one in Vegas (unless it's a national commercial). I love Fran and Alison's outfits. So proper for the occasion.

We figured we got an excellent deal for the cruise. There are a few itineraries I would love to do this side of the coast. Airfare is so expensive

I was quite surprised that I didnt feel enclosed. We tried Daves when we were at a golf tournament in Arizona. Chris is a fan of Daves! Well we will be in Vegas earlier this year, so if you are around maybe you might get a chicken to visit. He has a journey ahead of him..
