What Do You Make For Your Vacation?

Are these all still valid??? :goodvibes

pretty much.

The Kidcot "charms" are cardboard, but very cute.

The plastic robots were out of business last time I looked.

But now in innoventions, there's a very cute banking thing with a pig that's not on this list.

Since the accident last year, I don't believe anyone is allowed to ride with the monorail pilot any more.

I think the cookie making in The land is gone when they redesigned and enlarged the food court.

The new KimPossible games in Epcot.

Hi Everyone!
I can't thank everyone enough for all of the great work they do on these boards. They always make each vacation a wonderful time!!!
I am going again at christmas time with 3 other adults. I was wondering if anyone had any other suggestions for adults or anything special at christmas?
Thank you again! :rotfl:

If I only could have found this thread earlier.....I survived all 14 pages and have now added even more projects to my list :-) It will all be worth it to see the smiles on the kiddos faces:hug::hug::hug::hug:

Ok so just under 2 months and there is much I want to do.... let's see how much I can get done!! Problem is I want it all to be a surprise for the kids so have to do when they are asleep and I work afternoon/nights... so guess I will need more coffee to stay away :surfweb: LOL

I so relate to this thread - I'm literally addicted to this stuff.

I can see how, in the real world, what I'm doing is a hugely wasteful use of my time (there is *plenty* of stuff that actually needs doing in this house/our lives lol). So many important things are being postponed or left for another day just because I want to sit on the disboards being inspired, then making things and printing things... lol. but that's pixie dust for ya, it'll get you every time!

The worst thing about it is that I love so many of the disigns, but actually have no use for them so I'm 'inventing' things to do and make so I can use them. I keep saying "oh I love that image, I'll print and laminate it and display it somewhere either in the room, or on the stroller, etc...." I'm making an autograph book, even though my son's special needs will probably prevent him even knowing what autographs are, I'm making t-shirts even though when we go (Disneyland Paris) it is going to be so cold that he will have a ski suit on over the top lol.... but I still can't stop myself doing it all!

It is nice to know that this addiction isn't unique, hehe, and that we're all suffering from the same Disneyitus!

Hugs to all,
Rachel

is anyone taking tshirt design requests? please..

People do take tshirt DISign requests. You have two choices, find a DISigner who does something you like and ask them to change the name.

Start a brand new thread with a short description of what you want in the title. :thumbsup2 Good luck Penny

This thread gave me a lot of inspiration and I wanted to share my finished projects. We went in Jan 2012, had a great trip and the shirts and other projects made it special!

My daughter and I worked on these projects together. I printed and ironed; she glittered and trimmed the shirts for my granddaughters. This was my first time trying something like this and it wasn’t hard at all. It did take a lot of work and time but it was so very worth it! We got a lot of compliments on the shirts and autograph books from cast members and characters. And best of all my granddaughters loved them!

FANTASTIC job!!! I especially like the shirts, since I'm in that stage of my projects now for our June trip with DGD and DGS. The ribbon border was a cute touch. JoAnns has their shirts on sale this weekend, so I'm hoping to buy all of mine then. Did you use Amy Mickey's transfers? And I'm really interested in how you 'glittered' the shirts - what did you use? Will they be washable?

I almost hate to see our trip getting close - what will I do with my time after that?? :confused3 Oh yeah... plan the next one!! ;)

Thank you! It was a first trip for our granddaughters :)

Yes I used Amy's transfers (so easy to use -we even placed a 2nd order because the 1st set turned out so well).

My daughter used very fine glitter (found 12 in a pack at Hobby Lobby craft store) a tube of fabric glue and small paintbrushes (the ones kids use for paint with water). apply glue with the paintbrush and then sprinkle the glitter over it, wait a minute or so, shake it off and hang them up for the glue to dry. The craft store had a tray with a funnel at the end that we purchased and she was able to put excess glitter back into the jars.

We have washed the shirts and most of them came out fine because we used cold water, gentle cycle and hung them up to dry. A couple of the shirts got put in the dryer by accident and it caused the iron on to wrinkle and the glitter peeled off in a few places (my dh was being helpful and let them get too hot). We sewed on the ribbon and other trims so they held up well in the wash.

Adding Hobby Lobby to my shopping list! Our DGD (we'll be celebrating her 9th b'day) is a girly-girl, so the glitter idea is fabulous. We've all been to WDW many times, but this is the first time we've been able to go with our DD, SIL and the 2 kids. Also the first time that they will be staying on site - they have no idea how wonderful it is to stay close to the magic! ;)

I noticed that you did the 1900 Park Fare dinner - how was it? We've never done that, but that will be our last night and we're doing a surprise celebration for the birthday girl.
Thanks again for sharing your projects. I plan to do the same in June.

krd315 - SEE what you made me do - My DH is lucky I didn't put glitter on his....yet. :lmao:

These are 2 days of shirts - I only have 10 more to go (I make shirts for getting there, and going home so total of 12 this trip)

After seeing your glitter, I am a monster - never even thought about the glitter.....till now.

We really enjoyed the 1900 Park Fare dinner -try to be seated in the main room near the buffet as that is where Cinderella and Prince Charming dance. they will ask the children near by to dance. My 7 y/o DGD is shy and turned down prince charming...lol... I read a lot of mixed reviews about the food, but we did 9 character meals in 6 days, several were buffets and we thought this was one of the better ones.

LOL -Your shirts look awesome! I can't wait to see the rest of your shirts.
It is very addicting. This was our dgd's 1st trip and we set the bar high with all of the shirts, other things we made and several character meals.

Hope you have a great trip!
