Hello Fellow DISers,

My name is Teresa and my fiancé's name is Greg

This is just the beginning I plan on adding a lot. First though I need to let you know where I have come from.

I am future Disney Bride and I traveled over here from the wedding boards to write up our pre Honeymoon Trip Report.

We are going on our honeymoon right after our wedding which is 7/1/12. Our honeymoon will officially begin 7/3/12. We are using the day in between to spend a little time with our families before we disappear for 2 weeks.

We are a Disboards couple. We first communicated on the DISboards in the Adult/Solo Travelers thread. We first began talking in May of 2011 and we met face to face on June 4th, 2011 when we both took solo trips to Disney World. If you want to know more about that follow the links I will provide below to our story.

We did get engaged at WDW on October 1st, 2011 and will be getting married on the day of our 1 year anniversary at WDW.

We are a Disney couple through and through and going anywhere else for our honeymoon does not make sense. We are annual pass holders and recently just received our closing documents for our new "Home" at the Wilderness Lodge Villas DVC property.

Our Honeymoon Theme

So I have not discussed this with Greg yet but I would like for the honeymoon to have some sort of theme just for fun. Or at the very least something that we try to do for fun the whole time no matter where we go.

Ideas I have:
*take pictures of the bride and groom vinylmations everywhere over the whole trip
*take pictures of pop vinyl stitch or pooh for me and donald for him everywhere during the trip

anyone have any other fun ideas?

*******************************************************************
Our Honeymoon Philosophy
We really want to just take advantage of a long vacation from our busy lives and be able to relax. We are both park people and we will definitely be going to the parks but we also want to visit the water parks, relax at the pool or beaches and maybe rent a boat.

We want to do some stuff we have not done like tours and horseback riding. We also want to go to some restaurants we have not gone to like Victoria and Albert's.

We are also planning on leaving Disney for some day excursions to the beach, NASA, Universal or Sea World are all options.

We really just want to enjoy each other and get some Florida sun as if it is different from Texas sun.

More to come soon including ADR's

Teresa

So here we go with the fun stuff for all the foodies out there. As soon as I reached the 180 day mark I started making reservations for us. Some of these we may end up canceling depending on if we do a tour or go off Disney property.

How exciting! Congratulations and Best Wishes to you two first of all!

Can't wait to see y'alls plan!

Amazing! Sounds like your honeymoon will be so fantastical!
And omg, I have never stayed more than 6 nights at Disney, so seeing all those ADRs and food is crazy! (And making me hungry! :lmao: )

I think I just drooled on my laptop reading your ADRs....don't judge!

Sounds like a great honeymoon! Looking forward to hearing more from your plans.

I think it will be a great trip for us. Disney is truly our home away from home it will be great to just be able to play it by ear each day except for 4th of July that will be an early and late day at MK.

Sounds wonderful, can't wait to read more!

I hope you will find our fun and goofy ways entertaining and maybe you have done some of the things we want to do.

I have never stayed that long either our annual passes, TIW and DVC are the reasons that we are going to be able to have this kind of honeymoon. I am so very excited. I thought you would like the food.

I'm here!! Cannot wait to read more! It all already looks fabulous!

Hey Jenn so glad to have you along for the ride!

No judgement here at all! I am glad you like the food. Anything I am missing I mean clearly I have some holes but any suggestions?

Hehe, I always appreciate when people spell "y'all" the right way too :goodvibes

But no, not from Texas... Good ol, Tennessee. Maybe it's something about us southern "T" states!

Hi! Thought I would check out your PTR since you joined mine. And I didn't even realize you were from TX until after I had reponsded to you on my PTR. I was born and raised in San Angelo, so hello fellow Texan!:goodvibes

My husband and I used the Premium plan last January and had a great time. The tours I recommend are both Segway tours. The one around the WS is fantastic, but the Segway's at the Wilderness Campground are a blast. Keys to the Kingdom is a fantastic tour also.

And your ADR's look fabulous! Good thing I just had my lunch. Another place we really like is Yachtsman Steakhouse. That was some good steak, I'm a Texan, I should know.;)

It must be a southern thing!

It is funny because I am a Texan that does not like steak but luckily greg fits in great because he loves it!

We decided to do the keys to the kingdom tour and no other tours. I think we decided we just want to see how one goes and then maybe we might add another while we are there.

**************UPDATE****************

We officially as of this week became DVC members! We are so very excited we have officially closed on our resale that we bought and now we are just waiting to be put into Disney's system.

We have an idea of what we want to do for the wedding stay and the honeymoon stay but we can not book until Disney has us as members.

So here is my plan:

1. Try to get in touch with member services and tell them we just closed and are waiting to be transferred into the system.

2.Then tell them that I just want to find out what the availability looks like for us for our travel dates.

3. Hopefully what I want to book will be available but if not...come up with a plan B and C

Here is what we want to do:

June 29-2: Stay at Boardwalk Villas

June 2-9: Stay at the Villas at the Wilderness Lodge

June 9-16: Stay at Bay Lake Tower

Let's hope it all works out! Send pixie dust my way!

Teresa

Your plans all sound amazing. What do you think your plan B will look like?? I'm so excited for you!

And envious! I need a Disney trip asap! lol. Can't wait to hear what you find out from Disney!

We finally got put into Disney's DVC system. It only took them about 7 business days to get us in the system which is far less than the 14 to 21 days it has taken other people. So hooray for us!

So imagine my surprise when I log on to our online account to find that of course nothing that we had originally planned for was available. This meant it was time to work some magic!

First things first I needed to figure out the wedding stay rooms. Greg and I are going down on June 28th so we can go to Broghan's wedding on the 29th. We are planning on staying in one room until after the wedding on July 2nd. We wanted to get rooms for my family for the 29th of June through the 2nd of July as well. So these were the first ones I went after.

I found we will all be able to stay at Old Key West! HOORAY! I am choosing OKW for a couple of reasons:
1. They have the biggest rooms in case we get ready there
2. It is close to DTD and my family can walk back after the reception or take a boat
3. It was available!

So the first part is booked for the following: 1 room 6/28-7/2 and 3 rooms 6/29-7/2 all studios at Old Key West. 4 nights here

Disney-Vacation-Club-Old-Key-West-Resort-TImeshare-Resale-Points-DVC-for-sale.jpg

I love the pool
Disneys-Old-Key-West-Resort-Main-Pool-Photo-by-ckramer.jpg

The next part was the honeymoon. We originally wanted to stay 1 week at the Wilderness Lodge Villas and then 1 week at Bay Lake Tower with a lake view. Well this was not available consistently due to the 4th of july holiday and some other things I am sure. So now I was off to figure out how this was going to work with the different dates that were blocked out. At this point I said to myself ok...we are definitely split staying! :rotfl:

So due to black outs around the 4th of july holiday I decided the best choice would be to stay somewhere from the 2nd to after the 4th when availability opened again. So for this part we booked the following:

Saratoga Springs Resort Studio for 7/2-7/5, 3 nights here

600-exterior.jpg

The next part was easy thank goodness! :worship:

Villas at the Wilderness lodge Studio 7/5-7/10, 5 nights here

DSC_0098.jpg

Then for some reason all the resorts were blacked out again on the night of the 10th and the 11th....:confused3 So I had to find somewhere for from the 10th to the 12th. Luckily Animal Kingdom Villas-Kidani was available! So we booked the following:

Animal Kingdom Villas- Kidani Village Studio Savanna View 7/10-7/12, 2 nights here

Kidani_story_01_998.jpg

AKV_EST_1_998.jpg

Now it was time to get the one resort that Greg really wanted Bay Lake Tower. Of Course we would have loved a magic kingdom view but that was not going to happen but we were able to get a lake view room. So we booked the following:

Bay Lake Tower Studio with a Lake View 7/12-7/16, 4 nights here

baylake-tower-story-01-v1-establishing-shot.jpg

And that is the close of our honeymoon stay! Needless to say there will be an awesome trip report for you with lots of resort pictures!

Sounds awesome! I know you had to change them around just a little from your ideal plans, but hopefully it will be that much more fun getting to experience a couple other DVC properties on your Disneymoon too! It's gonna be amazing for y'all I'm sure! Yay for booking! :dance3:

:cheer2::cheer2:Glad it all worked out. What an amazing time you will have!

I am glad that it worked out too. I mean we would find a way to be at disney for that amount of time come hell or high water so I guess I am glad that we have a couple of places for a long period of time it is not like we are moving every day.

I think I already told you think on the wedding board, but that souds awesome.

I agree it will be awesome to experience the different resorts
