Just watched Carnival, RC, & Disney leave Port Canaveral on the web cam. Hands down the Disney ships are much classier and prettier ships! Looking forward to our next cruise on the Dream 8/25/2013 with the kids (this time).

Until then, clear skies!

How funny! We just watched them too and said the same thing! The Carnival Sensation looked so junky. Go Disney :cheer2:

Certainly got to agree this this. The Carnival ships in particular are even worse when you are up close.

I have to agree. Disney ships just do it right. Even when I sailed on the Carnival Dream which is a newer ship you park it next to Disney and I would say Disney any day.

Yes! We live in Charleston, and it would be so easy to just cruise out of here, but the majority of the ships that sail out of here are Carnival ones. You take the beauty of downtown Charleston and you park a Carnival ship next to it, and it just junks up the place. It's like parking your 1983 Chevy Cavalier on Rodeo Drive :rotfl:

I agree that the Wonder is a very attractive ship. However, the Dream is much larger/longer, and to me its shape isn't much different than that of Freedom of the Seas.

We were watching as well!!! LOVE Disney!

DH and I were laughing at all the people bundled up in jackets, hats and long pants! Hahahahha!

I watched too. The people on the deck of the dream sure seemed to be having more fun. I loved how the camera operator followed the couple in the Aquaduck. :rotfl2:

I agree.. The Dream sure did look much more well kept and just overall a more beautiful ship.

Can't wait to start watching the Fantasy!

I can't help but admit that when DH and I were on our honeymoon cruise in August, we were next to a Carnival ship and I believe it was a RCI ship (not 100% sure though) in Nassau, and we were both saying "Wow! We are GLAD we are on the Disney ship!" :lmao:

People are wearing jackets, hats, and long pants because it only got up to about 53 degrees today, and it was in the thirties last night and will be again tonight. I think that constitutes jackets, hats, and pants. :thumbsup2

I agree. The Disney ships are so much more beautiful and traditional looking. When I first saw one in person it took my breath away. I love the colour scheme. Ships from other lines I saw weren't very attractive, to say the least, IMO. Nothing against anyone who loves the other lines but I just love, love, love  the Disney ships. :cloud9:

We watch them in Port Canaveral.... This past Jan we went to Fish Lips on a Sat early eve for dinner. Around 430ish. We saw the Magic, an NCL ship, and the Carnival Dream leave port. It was fun watching them all leave but for sure the Magic seemed to have the most "going on" on deck.

The next day we left on the Dream and watched the Sensation and I think the RCI Freedom leave as well. I think our deck party/sail away was the most lively :) I may be biased though

To me, Disney did an excellent job duplicating the older "ocean liner" design of the early to mid 1900's.
I think the Magic and the Wonder are beautiful.

The Dream and the Fantasy are nice as well, but due to their size, look more like a cruise ship than an ocean liner.

Many other cruise ships look like floating barges to me.

Disney spent the extra time and money, and gave a number of verandah rooms in order the achieve the style they wanted.

I think they make up for that loss with their prices.

The two original Disney ships are consistently ranked the best looking cruise ships in surveys.

We also live in Charleston but will gladly drive to P.C to board a DCL ship!!

:confused3:confused3:confused3REALLY:confused3:confused3 everyone loves to bash Carnival especially those that have never cruised with them :(

Some do...........but you have to remember Carnival is selling cruises at a cheap price, and besides you can see the ships from the outside anyway......they go for a design and what I call.*Las Vegas neon/chrome boxshaped, buses afloat. IMHO opinion......they are not pretty and I don't care for the neon glizt!

That said, everyone is intitled to there own opinion
