Let's turn around. Magic Kingdom is open till 1AM! 3/23 Some Final Thoughts

Now when can we relive it in your TR... You know, the one for a trip that took place well before mine? :confused3 :rolleyes1

“Touche Pussycat!!”

I deserved that one. But again I say… now you’re the more recent expert, so I expect you to be tearing me a new one on each of my updates from now on,

It really is neat. I love the "rocky" surroundings and the stream running into the pool. Where else are you going to find something like that?

(I know, stupid question... you've probably got about 20 answers to it.):rolleyes1

I’m not thaaaat bad… OK, maybe I am.

Still… it’s one of my favorite resort pools. It not the biggest, but the theme and surroundings are magical
(to me that is… there nothing like that around where I live).

A shame how that tends to work.

:headache:

I would tend to agree with your strategy in most cases. I have to be honest though, I didn't have a problem with them keeping him there against his will. They certainly weren't giving in to him, and with the dining room being empty with the exception of 2 tables, they really weren't bothering anyone. They were handling the situation well and I think someone was getting a bit of an education out of it. ;)

Under those conditions… agreed. Let him sit right there (and just maybe go get a Dolewhip and not share it until a little bit of order and quite had descended over the table).

Now let me ask you this... is GF your DW's favorite resort anywhere on the property? :headache:

Yikes…
Nope, don’t have that problem. DW sees it about the same way I do. Of the resorts we've been to, we love the WL & BC but can’t stay at either that often (or for very long). We spend more time at moderates (out of necessity). There it’s CBR for her and POFQ for me, but honestly every resort at Disney is great because… well… It’s Disney!

The first thing I thought when I read that there were ducks in the pool was "boy, I bet Everett would move heaven and earth to grab a baby duck". I guess all little boys think alike! :rotfl:
Yeah, I think it is pretty much standard behavior. :lmao:

Resort hopping is a great way to spend an afternoon, glad you guys got the chance! :thumbsup2
It was a nice afternoon. We actually felt like we did a lot, but it didn't feel busy or rushed at all.

I deserved that one. But again I say… now you’re the more recent expert, so I expect you to be tearing me a new one on each of my updates from now on,
That's the plan.

I’m not thaaaat bad… OK, maybe I am.
I wouldn't use the word "bad." :rotfl2:

Still… it’s one of my favorite resort pools. It not the biggest, but the theme and surroundings are magical
(to me that is… there nothing like that around where I live).
It really is a beautiful setting. And the size of the pool doesn't really matter when you have it to yourself.:thumbsup2

Her Mom's friend took her on her first trip to WDW back when she was probably Jr. High age. They stayed in Poly... her younger sister got that same trip a year or 2 later and stayed at GF. All she did was tell DW about how wonderful that place is, so now it is pretty high up on her list of places to stay. I'm just thankful that Wilderness Lodge was enough cheaper that we could both agree on that one. I think she probably likes WL a little bit better than GF now, having stayed there.

She's my favorite too!
That's the right answer. You really are smarter than you look. :rolleyes1 :lmao:

Wow. What a suck up. Is she even reading this thread? :confused3
Probably not. But I like to cover all my bases.

I guess you have to say things like this to make up for that 2 wheel ride you have her oh so many years ago. ;) :lmao::lmao:

To tell you the truth, I think she kind of liked it. I could tell by the way she screamed "Don't you EVER F*&#)ING DO THAT AGAIN!" that she really didn't mean it. :cool2:

You need to teach Evan the ways of the two wheel so he can impress a young lady with that skill. Hey, it's probably what landed your wife. :goodvibes

:lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:

You're probably right. I'm sure she enjoyed the ride.

Maybe I should make this a poll question, but let's just put this up for discussion...

Which is the best thrill ride vehicle?:confused3

A] Aerosmith's Super Stretch Limo
B] Hollywood Tower Hotel Elevator
C] A GM Test Car
D] A Himalayan Mountain Train
E] Barry's 1984 Blazer
F] Barry's Rocket Van

Yes, we know Wishes is about to start. No, we don’t care.

We arrived at the front of the Magic Kingdom and stepped out of the monorail. We were still early enough that it was daylight out, so we took advantage of the opportunity to get some pictures of the train station and some random people on our way in.

6851862831_7dc76525ea_z.jpg

Then we found a Photopass photographer to take one of us.

6851867769_e02d7635d7_z.jpg

We got inside and saw that the line for Mickey was 5 min, so we decided to pay him a quick visit.

6851864687_d5b4f980d5_z.jpg

We got done meeting Mickey and it was finally getting dark outside. Since we had seen MSEP and Wishes earlier in the week, our plan was to get some rides in while everyone was crowding Main Street and then to try and get some castle Photopass pictures when we see a photographer with a short line.

We headed over to Adventureland and checked the line for Jungle Cruise since we hadn’t ridden it yet. The line was 25 minutes and we were debating whether to wait or get a Fastpass. While we were talking about it, a lady walking out of the exit came over to us and gave us a pair of extra FP’s. Awesome! Problem solved! :thumbsup2

After we finished our cruise and heard enough puns to make even Barry groan, we decided to head in to see the new Tiki Room under old management. I really enjoyed the show, as did DS. He was dancing with the music and just taking it all in. Since we were in the area, we decided we just might as well go see what the Pirate’s life is all about. DS seemed to be a little bit more into the dark rides this night. By the time we were at the end, he was sitting there dancing along with the music.

We walked around through Frontierland and got some caramel corn that DW had been wanting all week. We continued on around to Fantasyland and saw the line for Dumbo was short since MSEP was getting ready to start. DW took him on his first elephant flight while I tried unsuccessfully to get good pictures. I was standing to the side of the entrance nearest It’s a Small World. For some reason, DW went left, and got in the elephant as far from me as possible. By the time I ran around, I didn’t have time to get up cloe to the rail and the camera focused to take a good picture before they took off.

6851920101_67811971cc_z.jpg

We got done and decided to head up near the castle to get a few pictures with the ice lights before Magic, Memories & you and Wishes started.

6851865437_7867b4d8cc_z.jpg

It was getting close to show time, so we headed over to battle Zurg, since the crowd had abandoned Tomorrowland for Main Street. DS had finally mastered the art of the spin lever and we spun and spun and spun. It made the game pretty much an afterthought, but he was having a good time.

6851863847_6fb1cbd448_z.jpg

After we got done spinning, it was time for Wishes to start. We didn’t bring the earmuffs with us so we decided we’d find something indoors to do. I always love seeing Carousel of Progress, if for no other reason than nostalgia, so this was a perfect opportunity. We walked in and sat down in a theater with maybe 10 other people. The CM took the mic and told us at least 5 times that Wishes was going to be starting soon, and if we watched the show, we would miss it. Yes, we get it that’s the point. Just before the doors closed he warned us again,
“Wishes will be starting soon and if you stay in the theater you will miss it. Once the doors close, you cannot get up and leave. This is your last chance to leave if you want to see Wishes.”
Nobody got up, so the doors closed and the show started. During the second scene we could hear the explosions outside. At about that time, 2 people stood up and tried (unsuccessfully) to leave.:sad2::lmao:

We headed back towards Main Street and took our time letting the crowds move towards the exit. We stopped along the way for a few pictures as we headed out of the park.

6851866945_b7383a1e3d_z.jpg

We took an uneventful boat ride back to WL. We decided to stop at Roaring Forks to fill our mugs and get a late night snack. I had a brownie that was the size of a brick. It was huge and it was delicious. It was probably big enough to share, but DW had gotten a snack of her own, DS was asleep, and why on Earth would I want to share something that tastes so good anyway?:confused3

I got our things ready to go for tomorrow. It seemed like we had just arrived on property, but we only had one more night in our beautiful room after this one. Oh well, we needed to rest up, because we had plans tomorrow evening.

You need to teach Evan the ways of the two wheel so he can impress a young lady with that skill. Hey, it's probably what landed your wife. :goodvibes

No, what landed my wife was gravity. I didn't get the Blazer that far off the ground.

:lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:

You're probably right. I'm sure she enjoyed the ride.

Love your pics in front of the castle. That castle is to pretty. Good plan on the rides during parades. I loled at the people trying to leave Carousel of Progress even though they'd been warned 5 times. Sometimes people are so silly. :rotfl:

:wave2: Hello random people!

We got inside and saw that the line for Mickey was 5 min, so we decided to pay him a quick visit.
Do people no know this exits? The last few times we've been to MK the wait for Mickey or the Princesses was never over 20 minutes! :confused3

Since we had seen MSEP and Wishes earlier in the week, our plan was to get some rides in while everyone was crowding Main Street and then to try and get some castle Photopass pictures when we see a photographer with a short line.
I love it when a plan come togeth....wait, that was the last update, wasn't it?

While we were talking about it, a lady walking out of the exit came over to us and gave us a pair of extra FP’s. Awesome! Problem solved!
Behold the power of puns!

After we finished our cruise and heard enough puns to make even Barry groan

NEVER!!!!

We walked around through Frontierland and got some caramel corn that DW had been wanting all week.
Keep pregnant lady happy: check. :thumbsup2

How far along is she now? How's she feeling? Got DS prepped for the little bundle of joy?

She knows the rules: Go Left In Disney World. I'm going to have to place the blame on you here, Andy. Sorry.

That's why I can't score very high on this ride: the kids keep spinning me away from the targets. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Nobody got up, so the doors closed and the show started. During the second scene we could hear the explosions outside. At about that time, 2 people stood up and tried (unsuccessfully) to leave.:sad2::lmao:

I can think of no valid reason. You chose...wisely.

Sounds like a great night - be where the crowds aren't! :thumbsup2

Those are great family pictures with the castle in the background! :thumbsup2

You gotta love doing rides during parades and fireworks! You can just get soo much done.

I had to laugh & shake my head at the people trying to get out of CoP. I mean, really?!? Did they not hear the 203 announcements that had been made? :confused3

Can't wait to hear about the plans for the next night!

We arrived at the front of the Magic Kingdom and stepped out of the monorail. We were still early enough that it was daylight out, so we took advantage of the opportunity to get some pictures of the train station and some random people on our way in.

You can see a steady improvement in your shots of random people throughout the trip.

While we were talking about it, a lady walking out of the exit came over to us and gave us a pair of extra FP’s. Awesome! Problem solved! :thumbsup2

:woohoo: for bonus FastPasses!

DS seemed to be a little bit more into the dark rides this night.

Really? He seems like a happy kid. I didn't think they got all dark and mopey till they were teenagers.

I was standing to the side of the entrance nearest It’s a Small World.

Subconsciously pining for your favorite ride?

DS had finally mastered the art of the spin lever and we spun and spun and spun.

 I thought the tea cups were the only ride where this was a danger.

::yes::

:sad1: In the course of reading your TR, it also seems like you just got there.

We were still early enough that it was daylight out, so we took advantage of the opportunity to get some pictures of the train station and some random people on our way in.

It’s just not a Disney Picture without random people in the way.

That’s a given.
:rotfl2:

We got inside and saw that the line for Mickey was 5 min, so we decided to pay him a quick visit.

6851864687_d5b4f980d5_z.jpg

Nice! :thumbsup2

The line was 25 minutes and we were debating whether to wait or get a Fastpass. While we were talking about it, a lady walking out of the exit came over to us and gave us a pair of extra FP’s. Awesome! Problem solved! :thumbsup2

I’ve been both the recipient and the presenter of bonus FP’s in my time at The World. I love when stuff like that happens.

After we finished our cruise and heard enough puns to make even Barry groan…

Is that even possible? I suspect not…

I can just see Barry getting into a duel with the Skipper to see who get in the last-worst word (and I’d like to be on that boat to hear it).

we decided we just might as well go see what the Pirate’s life is all about. DS seemed to be a little bit more into the dark rides this night. By the time we were at the end, he was sitting there dancing along with the music.

Early indoctrination is important. :yoda:

It was getting close to show time, so we headed over to battle Zurg, since the crowd had abandoned Tomorrowland for Main Street. DS had finally mastered the art of the spin lever and we spun and spun and spun. It made the game pretty much an afterthought, but he was having a good time.

He's got his priorities in order… he probably had more fun then the rest of the kids there (just for a different reason)

I always love seeing Carousel of Progress, if for no other reason than nostalgia…

This attraction gets a bad rap, but we rarely miss it (including my teenager) and for the same reason.

Nobody got up, so the doors closed and the show started. During the second scene we could hear the explosions outside. At about that time, 2 people stood up and tried (unsuccessfully) to leave. :sad2::lmao:

Really? Just… wow.
:lmao:

The photo pass picture was nice, but that’s the best one of this bunch.

We took an uneventful boat ride back to WL.

It was eventful… you were on a boat.
That’s an event (well… to me it is anyway).

We decided to stop at Roaring Forks to fill our mugs and get a late night snack.

But of course…

I had a brownie that was the size of a brick.

We had a couple of those…
They were so good that I’m pretty sure the AMA has declared them to be a dangerous substance and a health hazard.

It was probably big enough to share, but DW had gotten a snack of her own, DS was asleep, and why on Earth would I want to share something that tastes so good anyway? :confused3

That’s the addiction talking (but I have the same addiction).

Looked like you had a really nice evening at the Magic Kingdom.

I don't know, that's probably one of the nicest pictures of the railing around the Dumbo ride that I've ever seen. ;)

You wonder why the cast members at CoP talk to everyone like they're idiots and then you find out why....:sad2:

Mmmmm....brownie brick.

Great updates!!!

I LOVED seeing WL and GF decorated for Christmas!! So so beautiful. I wish we had been able to explore WL more on our Christmas trip, especially the grounds after seeing your pics, but the pouring rain kept us in the main lobby. That is one Disney resort I would LOVE to stay in. The GF is nice for a visit, but you're right, it's a little too posh for me. Oh man, this is making me want to visit at Christmas time again!!

Too funny about the people trying to leave CoP during Wishes. I swear, some people just don't pay attention to ANYTHING! How did DS like it? We were afraid to take Paxton...I didn't know how well he'd sit, and once you're in there, you're trapped!

I love your DS's Mickey beanie!! The pics in front of the Castle are some great family shots. :thumbsup2

Love your pics in front of the castle. That castle is to pretty. Good plan on the rides during parades. I loled at the people trying to leave Carousel of Progress even though they'd been warned 5 times. Sometimes people are so silly. :rotfl:
Thanks! The castle always looks incredible, but there's just something about all those lights that just make it even more spectacular.

It was kind of funny on COP... especially once they got up and started walking and then they came over the speaker telling them to sit down. They had to repeat it several times before they finally looked around and figured out they were talking to them. :lmao::rotfl2:

:wave2: Hello random people!
It wouldn't be Disney World without them...

Do people no know this exits? The last few times we've been to MK the wait for Mickey or the Princesses was never over 20 minutes! :confused3
I don't know. We never saw any really long lines there. Princesses always seemed to have about twice the wait as Mickey though.

I love it when a plan come togeth....wait, that was the last update, wasn't it?
Yes, but A-Team references are always acceptable.

Behold the power of puns!
Yep! Kept her from wanting to keep them to ride again herself!

NEVER!!!!
Yeah, I should have known better.:sad2:

Keep pregnant lady happy: check. :thumbsup2
Priorities.

How far along is she now? How's she feeling? Got DS prepped for the little bundle of joy?
Um... I'm bad... I don't remember what week she's on. All I can remember is the due date is April 21.

He knows that he's having a sister and he can say her name. As far as being ready... no way.:lmao: He gets jealous when DW holds our nephew and he's had over a year to get used to that one.

She knows the rules: Go Left In Disney World. I'm going to have to place the blame on you here, Andy. Sorry.
Thanks for the support. :headache:

That's why I can't score very high on this ride: the kids keep spinning me away from the targets. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
Sure... :rolleyes1

You got some great pictures tonight!
Thanks!

I can think of no valid reason. You chose...wisely.
I thought so. But I was on a chocolate high and all I was worried about was feeding my addiction. :rotfl:

Sounds like a great night - be where the crowds aren't! :thumbsup2
Yes it was. Kind of a nice "bonus" evening in the MK when we hadn't planned to go there.

Those are great family pictures with the castle in the background! :thumbsup2
Thanks! They made good Christmas card material.

You gotta love doing rides during parades and fireworks! You can just get soo much done.
It was great. That was actually the shortest line we saw for Dumbo all week except for early morning.

I had to laugh & shake my head at the people trying to get out of CoP. I mean, really?!? Did they not hear the 203 announcements that had been made? :confused3
Well, you have to remember one important thing. A lot of people seem to think that those rules are for everyone else, not me. :lmao::rotfl2:

Can't wait to hear about the plans for the next night!
It was a fun one!

You can see a steady improvement in your shots of random people throughout the trip.
Thanks. I think. :confused3 :lmao:

:woohoo: for bonus FastPasses!
The only thing that would have been better would be if they said Tower of Terror on them. :rolleyes1

Really? He seems like a happy kid. I didn't think they got all dark and mopey till they were teenagers.
Now I'd expect that kind of thing from Barry, but you??? :lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:

Subconsciously pining for your favorite ride?
If you're talking about Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, which is also in that general direction, then yes. :thumbsup2 :rotfl2:

 I thought the tea cups were the only ride where this was a danger.
No. No they're not. But at least Buzz only spins at one speed. It's not like the teacups where you can really get it moving.

:lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:

And here you are wondering why they keep making that announcement. :sad2:
I know, everytime you think all their rules and warnings are overkill, somebody comes along to prove you wrong. :lmao::rotfl2:

As long as it didn't taste like a brick.
It tasted like a light fluffy brick of chocolatey goodness.

Thanks for the support.:thumbsup2

:sad1: In the course of reading your TR, it also seems like you just got there.
It feels like we just got there and like we just left. Rob's Trip Report update this weekend about checking in at WL gave me goosebumps... just seeing the pictures and reading his take on it. I'm so ready to be back there right now.

Love the update and the plan to hit the attractions while Wishes going on!

The photopass pictures are great, and I love the one with the little man and Mickey Mouse.

You could hear the fireworks in COP???? That would ruin the only reason I go in there...so that I can nap. :lmao::lmao::lmao:
