just watched the pilot episode and WOW I'm in :lovestruc love.
as a theater major in college - this struck home with me. I'm really looking forward to this show!!! :happytv:

Have the PVR set to grab it next week. Looking forward to it! I am a self proclaimed theatre obsessive so can't wait! :)

I loved it, too - but I wonder how long they can keep the competition going? After all, they have to cast the darned show eventually!

Love it. I've watched the pilot twice already. This will be a new favorite. That Katharine McPhee is amazing! Like a PP said they will have to cast the show eventually and then what? I'll be watching to see I think.

I look forward to watching it tonight. Monday is the best night for tv. I watch House, Alcatraz, and then I'll turn it over to SMASH! They had Debra Messing on the Today show this morning and it sounds more like my kind of show. I don't watch Glee, but this is more adult driven.

Smash looks like glee... but more of a single person vs a group of ppl.

THough i never seen glee... :P
Will check it out for sure though, looks promising.

Crap I thought it started this week, not last. Hopefully I will not have missed much if I start tonight?

It does start tonight! The pilot episode (tonight's) has been available to preview on certain cable carriers. The show is fantastic - I could not get the smile off my face the entire episode! Enjoy!

I have to admit... I wasn't planning on watching this show. I was in love with Glee the first season but quit watching halfway through the second because it just got blah.
Well, I didn't feel like changing the channel after The Voice and I gotta say it was a pretty good show! I am proceeding with caution though, since NBC seems to shoot anything that I like in the foot.

I loved the show!

I'm sure that one will be cast as the lead and the other as the understudy and that's when more drama will come!

I was just coming here to start a thread like this! LOVED this show. Love Debra Messing and Kat McPhee was awesome - didn't plan on liking her but how can you resist that performance? :yay:

Norrington  :love: Ooops mean Jack Davenport

Sorry I wouldn't have turned him down. :rotfl2:

Well, they could just 'write another part' for whoever the loser is, or split the role between them.

j/k... that's a joke going back to the 'Casting School Plays' thread.

Yes, because 3rd graders are exactly the same as Broadway.

I found the show confusing at first with all the different characters. I thought the director was the choreographer for most of the show (until the couch scene in his apartment).

I had no idea Anjelica Houston was supposed to be the producer until I read it this morning.

I'll give it another week and see what I think after a second episode.

I loved it! I'll proceed with caution because NBC is known to chop shows after awhile. They have a short attention span.
