What a wonderful thread! I have to tell you all, it's because of the last BC/YC thread that we settled on the BC (or YC) for our trip in 2013!

I'm SOOOOOO very excited I can't even begin to tell you! Our last trip was at the GF. It was truly magical, but we wanted a change for next time and loved the idea of walking to Epcot and HS. From what everyone here the BC / YC thread, the BC will be just the ticket !! (you've all made us converts!)

We're going in June of 2013 ( I know, I know....kind of far away) for my DH's birthday. It's been such fun reading this thread and seeing all the pics..... the BC looks like a wonderful place to stay !!

I can't wait to read more !!! Hopefully, 1 1/2 years will go quick!

Heather - I can relate to your post about trying to be organized and getting everything packed (on last thread). My problem is that this is a surprise trip for our little ones and I can't pack when they are awake. I can't have the luggage in my room packing little things here and there. So, I am putting things in a bin, but am a little worried that I will miss something.

Does anyone know if there are any special holiday activities at the BC for little ones - like decorating gingerbread cookies or anything ?

everyone is well and we all made it into the kiddie sand part of the pool. we will explore more tomorrow when dh is as at golf.

i noticed no one really ever touches on the expanse and confusion at bc/yc. we are LOST. at all times. getting in the pool area, trying to get out, trying to go back and forth to yc from bc we ended up on some pseudo path where i kept walking into pillars and felt like a cat burglar. this resort is intimidating! lovely and wonderful but scary as heck for someone like me who HATES to waste time wandering (aka lost). i hope i will have it licked by week end.

ooooh, kids passed out. i was thinking of going to check out illuminations but maybe the kids are onto something? 4 am was a loooooooooong time ago.

We have yet to make it until Illuminations on either of our 2 trips.....kids always are passed out by 8 or 8:30. SAB is the best sleeping "medicine" I've found!!! If only they would do that at home! We did see part of Illuminations from the bridge over to the Boardwalk our 1st year and the high fireworks from our balcony this year.....I'm hoping to see the whole thing from inside Epcot next week! Ditto for Fantasmic as well!

Don't worry, you'll get your bearings and find your way around BC in no time at all! Have a great trip!

Day 2 at YC
Today we spent the first half of the day at Epcot. Ate lunch at LeCellier. It was delicious. We ate off of the prix fixed menu. DH had the chicken chipotle sausage, the house burger, and chocolate mousse. I had the cheese soup, the house burger, and the maple creame brulee. Delicious, but we were stuffed!
We spent the afternoon at the MK...very busy...and then scooted over to the Poly for supper at Kona. DH had the coffee rubbed pork chop with Yukon gold mashed potatoes broccolini. I had the prix fixed menu again. Pot stickers, Mahi Mahi with rice and bak choy, and white chocolate cheesecake.
Now we're back at the YC, winding down and getting ready for a busy day tomorrow at DHS and possibly the SAB or AK.

One of the things I would try is hooking up with Teena tomorrow. She can get you set up with a resort map and orient you. It's one of the things that I didn't do that I wish I HAD done. It would have saved me a lot of looping around to get to Storm Along Bay.

Now if Teena isn't working that day I'm pretty sure they have maps at the front desk area and perhaps elsewhere. Just spend 5 minutes studying them with the family and you'll be good to go.

We loved SAB, the balcony, the close proximity to EPCOT and DHS and that it is connected to BC. The rooms were so lovely and the beds were super comfy! The staff there was great! I am officially spoiled.

pkdof has dates of Dec 18-22 YC. I think it is this year, not 2012

eah7 is considering (booked?) an anniversary trip in Feb to celebrate their "8th" Feb 29th anniversary. Not sure on dates

Jumping in! We went to the BC to look around for the 1st time in October. Well, needless to stay, I am going alone with DD in June to BCV to spend a few days at SAB and the water parks....I can't wait!!!!!!! Staying in June.

I posted on the other thread about the noodle swap but I guess it got missed. If syndral would give the noodles to heather and I could pick them up from her in the morning of the 14th that would work for us.

We are 2 weeks today!!!!!!

We will be arriving on December 17th with my wife, daughter and I coming down from CT and our son and his girlfriend on a red eye from WA. We are leaving on December 23rd. This will be my 6th stay at YC, wife and kid's 3rd stay and son's girlfriends first ever visit, not only to WDW but also to Florida. Our son is in the Army and is deploying in the Spring. Prior to his his last deployment, he wanted to go to WDW before he left, so it has now become a tradition I guess.

On our last visit, they knew it was our 25th wedding anniversary while staying and that our son was getting ready to head to Afghanistan. Upon arrival, we were surprised with a wonderful upgrade to a 2 BR CL Suite. This time around I booked us into 2 CL GV rooms. When our kids were small, I made their first visit very special with a stay at the Poly and a dining plan that included 3 meals and water sports. This time, I want to make it special for the GF. On our last evening there, we have reservations at Cinderella's Royal Table. It will be a (somewhat) romantic evening for our son and his GF before we see get her on a plane to head back to WA and her family for Christmas and the 4 of us head home for Christmas. Our son will then head back to WA to spend NYE with his GF.
