So to continue from another thread about not liking the DDP, where are your favorite off site places to eat? We like to do a combo of eating in the parks hotels, and our villa, but will have a car this trip and want to try some off site places. We don't want to drive 30 min to get to anywhere, so somewhere close would be better. We'll be staying at SSR and AKV.

Would love to hear where people eat that have found unique places in the area.

Nothing unique, but we always go there on our trips because our daughters love the places. Both are located at the Crossroads shopping center... Uno's Pizza and Sweet Tomatoes.

We like Sweet Tomatoes and Bahama Breeze. Good food, good prices and we don't have these places at home.

Sweet tomatoes. They just built a new one Near the super target on the irlo Bronson highway. About 5 minutes from animal kingdom.

Bahama Breeze is a great choice.. I try to look for one of two ways with some places. Either places that I do not have at home, or just something that's the typical tourist trap. What is the name of the place on I-drive that has the all you can eat lobster for something like 20 bucks? been a few years, but that wasn't bad, and was fun.

We like the Orlando Ale House a local sports bar. Large portions and low prices. We were told about it from a cast member. Almost had a coronary the first time I got a bill for the entire meal. It cost about as much as the tip for a Disney meal. LOL.

Thanks for all the suggestions. Has anyone tried Seasons 52? Looks like a place we would like. They have one near our house, so we may try it out before we go to Orlando too.

We like Perkins, Bahama Breeze, Olive Garden, Chilis, Cheesecake Factory all except Cheesecake Factory are just a few minutes drive from WDW but the extra drive is so worth it for those cheesecakes

Sweet Tomatoes. Funny that this place is getting so many shout outs, but we don't have them here in Virginia. It makes for a nice break from some of the heavy meals we eat at Disney, and is so much more convenient now that it's opened at Crossroads.

I've also just learned that there's a Texas de Brazil near Disney. This is one of our favorite restaurants when we visit Richmond, so I know we'll be visiting the one on International Drive during our next visit. If you've never been, imagine 'Ohana (with a southwestern theme instead of Hawaiian) with an awesome soup, salad, and sides bar.

In Celebration, we also like the Columbia Restaurant.

We love Columbia also.

Another good offsite place is Miller's Ale House, good specials every day and great prices. It's located on Hwy 192, just south of Animal Kingdom, near a Publix. There are other's in Orlando, but this is the only one we've been to.
Great fresh lobster special on Wed. nights, 2 lb lobster for $9.95.

Bahama Breeze, Sweet Tomatoes, Orlando Ale House, Giordano's and Bonefish Grill......yummo. Flipper's pizza good for delivery.

Columbia in Celebration is our family favorite and never disappointing. The whole Celebration downtown has a number of very good restaurants, and is one of our favorite places away from WDW -- really a nice, relaxing change of pace. And one of the best things about Celebration is the strategic location of Kilwins (amazing chocolate and ice cream place) -- just a short walk from any of the restaurants.

For really fine steaks, I second Charley's and Texas de Brazil (have not tried Roy's).

Also, in the Crossroads Pizza Uno is now the Uno Grill (or something like that). They still have great Chicago-style pizza, but they now have a full menu and the other food is as good as their pizza.

3rd vote for Charley's....it is AWESOME!!.....its about 15-20 from AKV by car.....and here's a hint......GO HUNGRY! :thumbsup2

Thanks for all the suggestions. Has anyone tried Seasons 52? Looks like a place we would like. They have one near our house, so we may try it out before we go to Orlando too.

We have been to Season's 52 and would recommend it. The menu was interesting, the food terrific, and service was very good.
