2013 dates

We just got back from a 12 night RCCI cruise and visited Greece (Athens and the island of Rhodes) about 2 weeks ago and experienced no problems there and felt very safe. The economy isn't the best in much of Europe now, which seems to be leading to various strikes, but we saw no demonstrations of any kind. We were also in Turkey, Malta, Rome & Sicily. The only "disruption" we noticed was an air traffic control strike in the UK for 24hrs and approx. 5-7hrs of strikes in Rome, where places such as the Colosseum and the Forum were closed and metro service was stopped for that time frame. Towards the end of our stay in Rome, we noticed their police force was more like a swat team with rifles around, but traveling around NYC, we see that in the subways frequently. Basically, I think it was just precautionary. Hopefully, things will settle down over time in Greece and tourism will not be affected.

I just called DCL about my cruise for January...as everyone else I did question about 2013...all she said was really really soon:thumbsup

2:tiptoe: hurry up Disney, join the rest of the cruiselines for 2013!

I think some of the 'teasers' that were out there indicated the itineraries that will open up this month, may not go through the entire year of 2013 for all ships and the BALANCE of 2013 will be released in the spring...:confused3

(Maybe they have to still tweek the activities for the Magic/Wonder for the last quarter of 2013)

.

It's still early.. the post for the 2012 dates was OCTOBER 17TH, which would be like OCTOBER 16TH of this year, since it also falls on a Sunday. Today is only the 10th. ;)

I just got off the Dream yesterday and the lady at the rebooking desk said that the dates for 2013 will be out by the end of this month. Hopefully she was right. :cool1:

I also hope they are right. We are celebrating our 40th anniversary April 1, 2013 and we would like to do the 7 nt western Caribbean cruise and 1 or 2 weeks at WDW. I'd like to get the cruise booked asap!

Any veteran cruisers have a guesstimate of what a 7 night Eastern Caribbean in October 2013 would run for 2 adults and 2 children? Would love a veranda but would be happy with and inside stateroom as well. As is everyone else, just anxious for the release of 2013 itineraries but know there's a chance I'll have to wait until spring for fall 2013 to be released. Guesses anyone?

I am hoping for a 7 night Eastern on the Fantasy during our Spring Break (March 30th), or a Hawiian during the summer. What do you think my chances are???

We will be on the Fantasy September 29, 2012. We booked about when they opened bookings. It was just under $3,000 for two in a cat. 5c. Not sure how much more for the two kids.

I am trying to be patient but darn it I WANNA know the 2013 dates... Pretty please DCL! Hoping to cruise aboard the Dream or Fantasy in 2013.

We are waiting anxiously for March 2013, hoping for the Fantasy on March 9-16. Another question on adding people...

So we have a group of family members going or thinking about going 10-15 people). My sister is hoping that she can share a cabin with my aunt. But my aunt is on the fence and I doubt we will convince her to book until the very last minute or she will book and then cancel. So that leaves my sister in a bad spot. She is on a very tight budget and definitely can't afford pay the fee for a single person. There is really no else for her to room with other than me, my husband, and our 6 year old son. If my aunt doesn't go then we want her bunk with us. So what do we do when the booking opens up to ensure she can get the best price possible in either case? I don't want to add her later and lose the original booking prices.

Can we do this?

Book a room for 2 for my sister and aunt hoping my aunt doesn't back out? And also add a 3rd adult to our booking? Who's name do we put down? Can once person be booked in 2 different rooms?

thanks

We went through this in 2009 with our Aunt too. We booked the two rooms by putting our daughter in her room so as not to get the single rate, even though my daughter planned on bunking with us. When she cancelled, we moved her into our room. It was very risky though because we could have ended up paying a larger premium since prices had gone up. Only thing that saved us was her cancellation was for medical reasons and Disney moved my daughter without penalty.

My suggestion would be to book a room with the aunt, your sister AND your 6-year-old. That way if the aunt cancels, you sister won't be paying the single premium. Your son can sleep in your room, but he'll be on their reservation. If the aunt doesn't cancel, then it's a win-win.

If you wait to see if the aunt cancels and try to add another person to the party, you'd have to pay that day's going prices.

Where did you see that rumor?

Unfortunately, this week I've had two bits of information......neither of which is happy news if they are true.

First, that Disney is not doing the Med/Europe at all in 2013; and secondly, that the fares being released this month are for Caribbean only and if there are any "special" cruise surprises, they are not being released until after January 2012 :confused3

Hmmm, where did you find that information. I hope it's just a rumor for those that are looking for Med/Europe cruises. Time will tell. I hope the time goes quickly for all of us.

Thanks Eva...that's kind of what I was thinking.

It came from a couple of friends in the travel industry. HOWEVER, they did state that these are not confirmed and they consider them "rumors" for now. Although someone posted on one of the threads that a crew member told them Disney is not going to the Med or Europe in 2013.

I have heard that they aren't going to the Med/Europe. Which probably means I will cancel the "dummy booking" I currently have. I have an agent pricing what I want on another line now. Price is probably cheaper, sure I am giving up the "credit" but not much else so....

:( I was looking forward to a MED in 2013-oh well.
