First some backstory on the title: the DCs are DH-Dave (me), DW-Darla, DD-Dana (6), and our last name is the same as a famous album/song from 1988 by NWA, Straight Outta ________, Im sure you can figure it out, but it starts with a C.
So I have been mulling over doing a TR after our excursion, no biggy, right? Then the thought of writing up a PTR came across my brain waves. Then one day (a couple days ago) my DD from the back seat says, Hey Dad, our initials are DC right, your DC, momma is DC, Im DC, and we are going on the Disney Cruise and that is DC?! Right? DING! Light comes on, That would be a great title for a TR! So here it is .The DCs On The DC Triple Ds First Cruise and Lil Ds First Trip To The World
First, lets start with some introductions.
Myself Dave aka Grooovertoo: Ive been a huge Disney fan from my youth, but nobody ever understood it. It all started whenever I visited my Grandma (DG) in Kansas who had this Disneyland Picture Souvenir book. First thing I would do, every time was go straight to that book and look through it for hours and dream (sidenote: when my DG passed in 89 my mom presented me with this treasured book and I have since shared it with my DD). Finally my parents gave in to my persistence and took me to DL in 81. My next visit was not until my Honeymoon and my first visit to WDW. Since then, the Magic was always there but it didnt truly strike again until one day at a Chucky Cheese in Amarillo of all places, while looking at their pathetic animatronics and observing my DD staring aimlessly at them, it came to me .Ive got to take my DD to DLR for her birthday, plus it was the year of Celebrations where she got in for free on her Birthday (Win/Win). Well, we had a wonderful time, there for 4 nights and 3 days in the parks. We were able to ride an Earthquake the first night with a couple rumbles the next few days, fall in love with In-N-Out, and discover that SOARIN is well worth it. I drink my coffee from a MM mug and that pretty much says it all, but then again it is decaf.
DW Darla: upon her graduation from High School visited DL for the first time in 1986. This had always been a dream of hers and she did it on her own. She likes Disney, but she is not as big a nut about it as me.
DD Dana: what can you say, she just turned 6 and she is our life. She loves to act, play with animals and loves all things Disney. She has a bit of SID (Sensory Integration Dysfunction) which you would think would be trying for the Parks, but she really shined at DLR and was not affected by it too much. We put some ear protectors in and she was good to go.
For years Ive dreamed of taking a cruise and spending a few days in the World and now I get to complete that dream.
I love planning this vacation and appreciate all that the DISDads and the DISboards have to offer.
