Where to eat 2 days at US & IOA. Ressies needed or CS?

We will be coming to Universal and IOA the first week in November/this year. Do we need to make reservations to eat somewhere at US and IOA for the days we will be there or are there plenty of counter service places in both parks like at Disney? Do most major areas in each park have a counter service place? We have never been to US or IOA before so we are unfamiliar with the eating establishments. If they are mostly table service places or counter service places. Thanks in advance for your help.

You rarely need reservations at the Universal restaurants or can make them the day you wish to dine. There are a lot of good places to eat in Citywalk which is just a short walk away from both parks so you'll have a lot of options.

One warning: many of the restaurants inside the parks close early and are only convenient for lunch. That includes Thunder Falls Terrace, a favorite CS, and Confisco Grille, a FS we try to visit during each trip. This is one of my pet peeves. I would definitely make sure that my chosen restaurant is actually still open in the evenings or make it a point to eat at Citywalk at night.

you are going during a low attendance period.

you should not have any issues with restaurants or cs places for waits.

I looked over that sticky before I posted this question but I can't really tell from those places and the menus whether or not they are TS or CS places. Some of the pictures LOOK like it would be a walk up place though so I am assuming they are CS

There are only a couple of table service places in each park...all others are counter service. Mythos and Confisco Grille are the only table service restaurants in IOA and the Studios the only table service places are Finnegan's Bar & Grill and Lombard's Seafood Grille...all others are counter service.
