The Side effects of the AP-Trip#6 Oct 10 Final thoughts and some TMI

Love the theming in AK. I really learned to appreciate it on my last trip there.

I was looking at your gorilla pics and thinking that you got more pics of his face than your son's! :rotfl2:

::yes:: stretch indeed.

I admit when it is a stretch. ::yes::

Me too. Once I realized a could get a good "lost on safari" there I really began to enjoy it. :lmao: Seriously, just being able to wander the trails slowly and knowing no 2 trips there were going to be the same was enough for me.

I think you are right. The gorilla was not running to get on the next ride. :rotfl2:

Finally time for that safari

Hey who left their laundry?

IMG_8471.jpg

Who do I bump into ? Well I don’t really bump into her, I could knock her down.

I took another picture of my croc flops so maybe they were bothering me, but I look up and see this :scared:

IMG_8516.jpg

This was by the croc exhibit. What on earth was he trying
to?

Holy crap - what is that guy doing????? Can't wait to hear how that turns out. :lmao:

I can't believe they get draw blood from a bird that small - pretty impressive.

Those tiles in the bathroom are so cool. Neat bathroom. :rotfl:

I would love to say "There was a crash and he was in the enclosure and before anyone could act the hungry croc gobbled him up" but sadly that didn't happen. :rotfl2:

Those vets are pretty impressive and love their job.

Tiles and trash cans. Those details area amazing to me. I mean they could have every bathroom and trash can look the same, They serve the same purpose whereever they are, but instead they become part of the scenery. :goodvibes

Great Safari pictures!! I was just thinking yesterday about how to attack our very first park day next (!) months at AK and realized that I am more looking forward to the safari than to Everest...

So I don't know if I will get a chance to go back and read everything but wanted to jump in and join your TR.

Nice homage to Marv and Glenn! :thumbsup2

You've given me a whole new appreciation for trash cans! :lmao: Honestly though, I agree with you - Disney takes theming to the limit not skimping or cutting corners on anything. I  it!

Hmmmm, I wonder if he dropped his ciggie? Do you suppose he's in a designated smoking area?

I am glad you caught that!!!! That was the cherry on top. He is climbing around with a lit cigarette.

The only way he would have been in a designated smoking area was if the croc was smoking too! :lmao:

Like I have said before, I really enjoy AK because every visit is different. The animals grow and change. There are new additions and details I seek out that I have not seen in person before. :goodvibes

party: :welcome: party: Glad to have you here.

Going back may take some time :lmao: but just jump in on the the current trip. I lumped them all together to explain the side effect. :goodvibes

They really could have just had the same can with a generic design all over. The extra mile is why Disney is so special to me.

I hate to say it, but I almost wish that guy would've fallen in...and then gotten out really quick without getting hurt, of course....but fallen in so he could've been embarrassed and realized what a stupid thing he was doing.

Your pictures of DeVine are really good! I especially like the first closeup one with the sunlight behind her. :thumbsup2

Pat, I'm so sorry I got so far behind. We went away for the weekend and I've been sick the last two days so have not been on the DIS a whole lot.

Your DeVine, safari and gorilla pictures are great.

Can you believe our trips are coming up so fast?

I almost gave him a little push. :lmao: I had enough time to take a picture of him and his cigarette so he was up there a while. I cannot believe someone did not come out the "shadows" and escort him out.

For once I was able to hold the camera steady. :rotfl: Those 3 were my favorites of the bunch I did take. I kinda like the one with her looking up and the sun on her face.

THAT guy finally gets down off the croc enclosure with his cigarette. With 2 strikes against him, he walks off. I do believe he was NOT speaking english but really I think NOT getting in the croc enclosure is pretty universal across all cultures.

Flame tree was under rehab.

I made my way out and back to POFQ by 1pm. I had to change out of those croc flops.

Of course I find the maid in my room again. I told you I had great timing.
We had a lunch ARD for LeCellier. But I have no pictures from this point until I return to AK for the repeat meet I had that evening.

Lunch at Le Cellier with no pictures? We were seated pretty promptly and had a great steak lunch. No excessive drinking by Chris. I do remember the waiter asking if we wanted pretzel bread to go and believe it or not we declined. The waiter was surprised. We were full and I just did not want to carry it around. I am sure we had the filet and I know Chris had the moose for dessert, I have no idea what I had. I don’t even think I stayed at EPCOT after lunch and neither did Chris.

At 4pm I head back to AK to officially meet Liesa and crew. This was the original day and time we arranged to meet. The DHS meet was just by chance.

The first aid station at AK.

IMG_8529.jpg

Our meet was here.

IMG_8533.jpg

We gathered and chatted a bit more. Believe it or not we only drank water. I think it was because Liesa, Maroo and LeeAnn were going to HoopDeeDo that night and didn’t want to start too early. They had just moved over to POR so there was some finding the car/room drama as Maroo went ahead to get the car and get ready.

We took in FOLK ( the tumble money show) but my monkey had the night off.
IMG_8547.jpg

So I leave with the best shot of the night.

We cruised by the Tree of Life

IMG_8601.jpg

EE was in order. There was no wait this night.

IMG_8602.jpg

IMG_8603.jpg

At this point Liesa and LeeAnn needed to catch up with Maroo to make dinner. Liesa’s neck was not doing the best so one ride was all she could do.

The challenge said to me was “you can ride 8 times before closing” Well, Let’s see. Look at the people I am riding with. Some of those pictures are priceless.

#8 Look at the kid next to me. I bust out :rotfl2:ing every time I see it.
IMG_8615.jpg

It was now after 8 so I made my way out. I was searching for that bag and wallet I saw in July. I thought I would check out POP since I know their gift shop had it in July. I take the bus over and check our Everything POP. No dice.

I take the bus then to DTD and check WoD. No Dice. I get some help from Steven from Charlotte who looks it up in the system. He informs me it was probably sent to the outlet store.

Darn. Another lesson- if you like it when you see it get it.

I take the boat from DTD to POFQ and stop in the bar for a drink.

Pat, I'm so sorry I got so far behind. We went away for the weekend and I've been sick the last two days so have not been on the DIS a whole lot.

I hope you are feeling better. :goodvibes:hug: I am going pretty fast. I would like to wrap it up before I go but I am going to be cutting it close. I still have another OCt trip from 2010 to summarize quickly. That trip I had some unique times, so I want to share.

Thank you and I can't believe it either. I am ready to go in my head, but not anywhere else.

Pat, I am sitting here in stitches over your photos of EE and the reaction of the people in front, next and behind you. But your reactions are just as good!

I had fun with those. The last one has me busting a gut everytime I see it. Compared to what I think might be his brother in the row in front of me. :rotfl2:

I LOVE that picture with the kid freaking out. That was genuine fear!

Hey, was that the same girl with the parrot shirt in picture #1 and picture #4?
