"Your Lime Green Chariot Awaits!" ~ a WDW Family Vacation ~July 2011 TR~Apology 12/11

Yep, definitely a T-swift look alike :)

The haunted mansion interactive queue looks like so much fun :) Really funny about those people who didn't know that the sailor tombstone spat out water.

I know, right? like, c'mon. The ground all around it is soaked!

Like your chapter title quote :) the laugh floor show is incorporated with so many great quotes :)

Agreed completely!

I totally agree about modeling the different hats in disney gift shops. i always have to take pictures with every cute thing i see in the store. I usually only end up getting one or two items from a store if anything at all.

I know! I always wonder how long some of the obscure merchandise has been sitting there unpurchased. Lol

LOL that's creepy how much that CM looks like taylor swift!! So weird. It looks like you girls enjoyed the queue! I'm glad there's an option to bypass that all, though, in case you just want to focus on the ride.

Pshhh, why would you want to bypass the fun!?

I like those pirate mickey ears :) so cute!
I should have bought them, hehe :)

hehe I like your almond picture! Although I lost my tolerance for them, I'm glad you enjoy them. Because they sure do smell good!

You don't like them!!!??? What! ohmygoodness. And at least you still think they smell delicious!

I'M SO GLAD YOU LOVE ROZ. Because I do too. I think she is the funniest character EVER.

She really is! She's so bitterly sarcastic, I love it.

I want a monorail sticker :( I need to wear my shirt next time for sure!!

you have a shirt too??
Can't wait for more!! :)

Hooray! :cheer2: Welcome!!!!

Enjoying your TR---subbing :goodvibes
why thank you!!! :yay: Welcome!!!

Love your report so far! popcorn:: Subbing! :goodvibes
Thank you!!!! Welcome! :cheer2:

"Your Lime Green Chariot Awaits!" ~ a WDW July 2011 Family Vacation
Chapter 5 ~ July 24th, 2011 ~ "I only ordered it because the Dis-ers told me to!!!"

Sorry for the lack of an update in a while! I haven't been home much and when I have, I've been sleeping or just too tired to do much of anything. Not that I'm complaining for having a social life, though!!!!

Sidenote on my real life: I finally watched The Princess and the Frog....and I LIKED IT! It was really good. I suupppoooossee I can accept Tiana as a princess...but she's just not a classic. I'm even listening to the soundtrack right now! It's so cute :-)

Okay, back to Disney World!!

So the next day we were off to Animal Kingdom in the morning! We usually only go there once a trip for half a day, since in our opinion, there isn't much to do there. There's only a few rides, one of which was closed on our trip anyways (Primeval Whirl), and I don't like Kali River Rapids because of my aversion to being wet...

When we walk in, a nice CM hands me 2 free Dinosaur FPs! No way! Oddly enough, I've never been on the ride before, so I was pretty excited that I'd get to bypass the line.

We of course had to stop for a Photopass picture in front of the Tree of Life, because my mom is obsessed with them. Then we trekked to Asia to get Expedition Everest FPs and go in the standby. Since the park just opened, it'd be a short wait.
img0210cs.jpg

I must say, I absolutely love the theming of AK. I think it's cute how there's Asia and Africa and Dinoland USA and Camp Minnie Mickey and such. Asia has to be my favorite. I like the music they play in the background, LOL. :rotfl:

I'm also very amused by the theme of the queue for EE. Anandapur- I think it's like, the coolest name ever. the -apur is obviously very Indian, and it amuses me. I'm a loser, yeah yeah yeah. Expedition Everest is also one of my favorites!

The wait was nonexistent. We ended up in the LAST row! So it's like being in the front for some of the ride. It's a win win. In the giftshop, they had little plush Yetis...I almost bought one. I talked myself out of it. But they were freaking adorable.
img1978k.jpg

After this, we split up from my parents and Ana and I went off to ride Dinosaur. I didn't even know where it was! The thing is, my mom has a super bad back (I do too, darn genetics), so the turbulence of the ride hurt her, so we never rode it. But Ana rode it with her friends on her band trip last year, and she told me we needed to go on! Plus all the Dis-ers here love it, so I obviously had to give it a try!

LOL.
dscn6062.jpg

The wait, again, was nonexistent. We were getting way too lucky here! I LOVED the ride. Ana was freaking out more than me, and she'd been on it before! I was just waiting for something to pop out! I wanted to figure out where the ride photo was so when they took it I could be looking in the opposite direction, lol. Thanks, Dis-ers ;)

In the giftshop, we found the PERFECT shirt for Ana! It was in the cast list, but here it is again. I wish she would have bought it!
dscn6065.jpg

The wait was still prettty much zero minutes, but the FPs were expiring soon anyways, so we used them. This time I knew where the ride photo was, and I did it! Hehehe. I felt so rebellious. I'm in the back row in the middle. Ana wouldn't do it with me. LAME!
dscn6066i.jpg

We checked a giftshop in a Dinoland before leaving, and I bought my friend Katie a small Marie coloring book. It was cute, and it's one of her favorite characters. We also played with some of the merchandise, obviously.

Okay, is it just me, or does the hat look very extended, like, tall?
dscn6069p.jpg

PERRY!
dscn6067.jpg

Goofy :D So mysterious.
dscn6068k.jpg

Ana wanted to do It's a Bug's Life, so we headed in that direction. She got a frozen banana on the way, and snapped this picture for her friends back home, who are well, on the more perverted side. HEADS OUT OF THE GUTTER!!!! :goodvibes
dscn6070dc.jpg

You know how the queue is sort of long and goes around the Tree of Life? Yes, the animals are cute. But the lady in front of me had to stop and take a picture of every. single. one. of. them. I was very annoyed. I stormed in front of her, I couldn't handle it, we were stopping every five seconds.

Being a musical dork, the posters in the waiting room of the theater amused me! So I got some pictures. I had never noticed them before...well, I'm sure I did. I just wasn't into musicals yet!
dscn6074.jpg

dscn6073m.jpg

dscn6072m.jpg

So cute. So witty!

After I got a text from my mother saying the Kilimanjaro Safari was CLOSED. EXCUSE ME!!!??? The safari is my second favorite thing in this park! I was very disappointed. :sad2:

I got over it, I had been on it like, 8 times. We went to use our EE FPs, and we got third row! Improvement!

I got another text from my mom during the ride, saying they were eating at the Flame Tree Barbecue and would be done soon. We were getting hungry anyways, so we went to Pizzafari. I think the name is so creative! Oh, Disney.

My mother then called. Goodness mother, yes? She said they were ready to leave, but if we wanted we could see the Festival of the Lion King before we did. Unfortunately, we had a really early dinner in Downtown Disney, so staying would mean probably not enough time for shopping before dinner. Which is sort of unacceptable. So we decided to leave after eating, for the sake of shopping. Though I did really want to see the show, since I haven't in years. There's always next time, I suppose!!!

So, what ELSE to get at Pizzafari other than Pizza? I also got the chocolate moose, because I read on here somewhere that it was good. But when I get overheated, as I was, I have literally no appetite, especially for heavy things like cheese and chocolate. I ate most of the pizza, but I couldn't eat the moose :( My dad did when he showed up to meet us, though. He also ate some of the pizza and said he didn't like it. Um, WHAT!? We aren't related.
dscn6075x.jpg

and Ana got a Caesar.

Continued in Next Post!

YAY AN UPDATE! :-) And that's awesome you got to see Princess & the Frog. It's one of my all-time favorite Disney movies, the other being The Lion King. I totally think she is worthy of the classics, though, in my opinion since she is different and isn't like other classics, but that's just me. :teeth:

YAY! ANIMAL KINGDOM! WOOT! I'm sorry that there wasn't a lot you felt offered to you, but you really got to check out EVERYTHING in Animal Kingdom, there's a lot more than you think. The Exploration Trails are very cool, the safari doesn't have everything and I think in DinoLand there is stuff besides DINOSAUR and Primeval Whirl, like the boneyard area. Sorry, just had to rant there since AK is one place I feel isn't as glorified as it should be. :D

Moving on... I can't believe you just got handed random FPs to DINOSAUR! That is so cool! It's happened to me before, but you got it handed over by a CM. That's luck right there.

Oh, I'm glad to see you enjoyed DINOSAUR, that is such a fun ride. It's very fast paced and I just love how they truly immerse you in the experience. Very fun and I must try the "looking in the opposite direction" on DINOSAUR, that would be a real funny on-ride photo to bring home :goodvibes

That hat is definitely a bit "tall" like you said, very extended  And I love the Perry shirt, he's one of my favorites and I have a picture with me wearing a Goofy hat like Ana, except it was in DTD at World of Disney. Lots of fun shopping in there ;)

Oh, I love It's Tough to Be A Bug, such an awesome 3D show, but I can't believe you got stuck behind a lady that took a picture of everything. Good thing you got in front of her, that would've been an extended wait LOL And I love those little movie posters that they made for the waiting area. There was one I really liked but I forget which one it was... gotta check when I go back :D

I'm sorry you couldn't go on Kilimanjaro Safaris. That ride is very tentative. The ride opens later than the park does and closes earlier so you got to make sure to check it out as soon as you can. As you said, always next time :thumbsup2

I love the names they have for the restaurants in Animal Kingdom, Disney just knows how to make some epic catchy names. I can't believe though how big that salad is at Pizzafari! It's huge! That's like a serving bowl, my gosh.

Can't wait to read more! :mickeyjum

Aww I thought I replied already. I guess I didn't. :p
YAY Animal Kingdom! Love it there.
I'm so glad you enjoyed Dinosaur and did the "wrong way" picture. So funny!! I love that!
I LOVE those musical posters in It's Tough to be a Bug!! I need to take pictures of them next time!!
I'm sad your Dad didn't like Pizzafari :( THAT IS MY FAVORITE PIZZA IN THE WHOLE ENTIRE WORLD.
And yes I agree... that hat is unusually tall

Joining in! I still have some catching up to do, but wanted to sub in before I forgot. I've been following along to all of Jess' and now Kristen's reports, so just naturally had to come here as well!

I am enjoying your trip report. We were staying at the Boardwalk Villas the exact same days you were there. I wonder if maybe we passed each other at the pool. We had 22 people with us. My kids are DS 22, DD 20, DD 18. They spent alot of mornings at the pool. They are all disney fanatics also. My son brought his girlfriend for her first visit and my daughters each brought a friend that hadn't been to disney since they were small. they all had a great time. We always stay at the Boardwalk also, we love it there. Being able to walk into Epcot is a big selling point with my family. We are going to try Bay Lake Tower next year. We'll see if it compares to our beloved Boardwalk. Can't wait to read more about your trip.

just came across this, LOVE IT :goodvibes can't wait for more :)

:welcome:

Completely agreed!

YAY! ANIMAL KINGDOM! WOOT! I'm sorry that there wasn't a lot you felt offered to you, but you really got to check out EVERYTHING in Animal Kingdom, there's a lot more than you think. Haha, no problem. Everyone has their preferences!! :) I do like AK, don't get me wrong. The whole nature/exploration thing just isn't my bit. I liked it when I was younger, for whatever reason.

Moving on... I can't believe you just got handed random FPs to DINOSAUR! That is so cool! It's happened to me before, but you got it handed over by a CM. That's luck right there.

I know! he had a whole stack. he probably made a lot of peoples's days! Including mine!

It would, it would! If I ever get my parents on there with me, and we take up a whole row and do it, I would definitely consider buying the photo. it'd be priceless.

That hat is definitely a bit "tall" like you said, very extended  And I love the Perry shirt, he's one of my favorites and I have a picture with me wearing a Goofy hat like Ana, except it was in DTD at World of Disney. Lots of fun shopping in there ;)

I think I saw that picture! I was scoping out your TRs, didn't comment though! I'll read more when I have the time :) I had no idea you were so young! I think you mentioned it but it slipped my mind.

People bother me sometimes. -.-

Exactly! I will definitely be going back for the rest of my life. The animals aren't going anywhere.....I'd hope.

I love the names they have for the restaurants in Animal Kingdom, Disney just knows how to make some epic catchy names. I can't believe though how big that salad is at Pizzafari! It's huge! That's like a serving bowl, my gosh.

I know, right! I want to be on a creative team in Disney sooo badly. If my law school dreams fail, maybe I'll get into marketing ^.^

Can't wait to read more! :mickeyjum

can't wait to read the rest of your trip report...looks awesome so far! :)

Thank you so much!

Aww I thought I replied already. I guess I didn't. :p
YAY Animal Kingdom! Love it there.
I'm so glad you enjoyed Dinosaur and did the "wrong way" picture. So funny!! I love that!

Me too :) We should try and coordinate all of our trips next summer!!! because that'd be soooo much fun!!!!

I LOVE those musical posters in It's Tough to be a Bug!! I need to take pictures of them next time!!

Definitely!

I'm sad your Dad didn't like Pizzafari :( THAT IS MY FAVORITE PIZZA IN THE WHOLE ENTIRE WORLD.

I'M VERY UPSET WITH HIM! He's just picky about his pizzas. he doesn't think any of the pizza in florida is good...sort of true.

And yes I agree... that hat is unusually tall

oh good good, glad i'm not seeing things! LOL.

Joining in! I still have some catching up to do, but wanted to sub in before I forgot. I've been following along to all of Jess' and now Kristen's reports, so just naturally had to come here as well!

Thank you!!!! Much appreciated! Hope you enjoy!!! :cheer2:

Thank you so much! And no way! Small world! I saw a lot of big groups, but we were always at the pool in the early afternoon. I'm glad to hear your trip was a good time for all! My friend is staying at Bay Lake soon! I can't wait to hear about everyones experiences there :)

I think I saw that picture! I was scoping out your TRs, didn't comment though! I'll read more when I have the time I had no idea you were so young! I think you mentioned it but it slipped my mind.

Oh really? I hope you enjoy them. I'm guessing you're looking at the one I just finished writing lol And young? How old did you think I was?

Oh really? I hope you enjoy them. I'm guessing you're looking at the one I just finished writing lol And young? How old did you think I was?

hahaha, I mean I didn't think you were like my age. Well, about a year younger. Most teenage boys aren't into disney, though its totally AWESOME that you are! :)

The next time that I ride Dinosaur, I am totally going to look the other way. I love that ride!

I'M BAACCCKKKK. Hehe. And I'm trying to catch up!

YAY for AK and the fact that you like the theming. Me too. I tend to go there the least too though. I think Discovery Island is my fave, but you and your -apur are definitely entitled to your own opinion.

:woohoo: for the back on EE! Love that ride. And Dinosaur! I am SO glad you looked the other way in the pic. :thumbsup2

Those posters are SO cute! When I tried to take pics of them in July, the CM yelled at me and told me to put my camera away. :confused3:

So sorry about the Safari being closed. I didn't even do it in July!

How can you not LOVE Pizzafari!?!? Oh well, more for us! <3

Can't wait to hear about your shopping adventures! :)

"Your Lime Green Chariot Awaits!" ~ a WDW Family Vacation ~ July 2011 TR
July 24th, 2011 ~ Chapter 6 ~ "Be careful what you say on the beach! Those seagulls spread nasty rumors!"

Hey there Dis-ers. I apologize so much for my lack of update. I'm a huge lazy you know what. And, tragically, I DID do this update, like, 2 weeks ago and I somehow went back a page instead of the backspace bar. IDK. I was very upset. So I abandoned trying tor re-do it for quite some time.

Another real life update- I bought Mickey Mouse folders/notebooks, a Perry the Platypus notebook and a tinkerbell notebook for back to school. And oh, I WILL be using them.

I also redid my bedroom door. 2 years ago, I used all the park maps as sort of a wallpaper, and they were getting a tad ratty, so I put up new ones! YAY! And I made an 18 month calendar with pictures from this latest trip for Ana and I, and it should be coming in the mail SOON! My door will be very Disney-ed out.

And I've been watching WAY too much Disney channel during my afternoons. School seriously needs to start (I did NOT just say that...). Though I've grown a liking to Shake It Up, which I originally despised. And I laugh way too hard at Good Luck Charlie. Yeah, I'm a pathetic 16 year old. This is not news to me.

OH! And yesterday, I was totally frumping around Wal-Mart with a disney teeshirt on, drinking tea out of my pink minnie mouse mug that says "morning's aren't pretty". My mom told me I'm not supposed to drink while shopping. Um..it's WAL-MART. Not Sak's 5th Avenue. And have you seeeeeeeen the people in Wal-Mart? Seriously. I probably looked like a Miss Universe model compared to half the people in there....no offense. You don't need to get glammed up to go to Wal-Mart. Though I have seen chicks wearing hooker heels in there.......

OKAY. Sorry for boring you with my life. This is what happens when I don't update, which means I simply have to more often. Back to the trip! ("finally" they all say.)

When we got back to the BoardWalk, Ana and I noticed that some CMs were playing games with the kids at the pool. One game was "Name that Disney Song". Um, hello! Sign me up! So Ana and I swam over to the edge of the pool and started playing.

The prize for a correct answer was a strand of Mardi-Gras beads...I won 10. Yeah. No shame. Bow down little children, I know my Beauty and the Beast songs. Though if it was Hannah Montana, I let a little kid answer. Though I was ready to have a conniption if they weren't answering fast enough...besides, I'm embarrassed to say I know them in the first place.

and at one point, my mother game up to me and told me, "maybe you should let the kids win some." Embarrassing...Oh well, I had fun. And I have a fun erray of beads to wear on Mardi-Gras now.

After showers and re-beautifying (wow, that's a word? I'm surprised.) ourselves (One complaint- doing hair/makeup twice a day is seriously a pain in the butt), we got in the car and headed to Downtown Disney. HOORAY!!!!!

I guess I shouldn't be shocked that they change/add stuff to the parks, but I was a tad surprised to see new lego figures!!! They're so cute though :)
dscn6083z.jpg

dscn6082zr.jpg

There's seriously no point in trying to stay with your group in the World of Disney store. I'm on sensory overload and wander off unintentionally. And I'm the world's most indecisive shopper. "Ana, what lanyard should I get?" "I really don't care." "Well, I mean, this one is more boring, but is the princess one toooo childish." "Well, I like the princess one." "But I sort of like the other one." "....I'm going to go ask some random strangers." Ana really did. And they picked out the one with mickeys on it, which I now own!

I also got a pink mickey shaped luggage tag with a PRINCESS CROWN ON IT! princess: a few postcards, a ring (which I had to return because it was too big...fail. but i got it in a different size..phew!), a mickey keychain, a belle tiara :lovestruc and probably some other things I just can't remember.

dscn6085.jpg

I tried this one on...it lit up! But it didn't fit right. Darrrrn.

We had out 4:00 at Portobello, so we headed in that direction, and we ended up being seated early! Because apparently no one eats that early!

Our server's name was Joel. He was nice, he seemed kind of rushed, even though the place was empty... he brought my dad's wine late (again, not like it was busy or anything), but the food was great!!!
dscn6088q.jpg

dscn6089a.jpg

dscn6090.jpg

dscn6091.jpg

dscn6086h.jpg

I seriously love Calamari. I think it was the best I've ever had in Disney. Definitely not the last plate of the trip :-)

REVIEW OF PORTOBELLO
Server: Joel
Service: 4.5/5 My dad's wine was late, but we were seated early, so that was a plus
Food: 5/5 No one had any complaints. My pizza was yummy!
First visit?: Negatory
Go Back?: It's not my favorite by any means, but I will eventually.

After, we made our long and trecherous journey to MK. ... :lmao: Since dinner was early, we were there by probably around 6. Plenty of night left! The four of us got Space Mountain FPs for later. WOO! Finally. I've been deprived of one of my favorites for 4 years.

Ana and I ventured off on our own and we passed by Fantasyland and noticed something I COMPLETELY missed yesterday...FANTASYLAND EXPANSION SIGNS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -happy dances- :cheer2: I do have pictures, but they must be from a different day.

And I know, this has been announced for a while, but, I was unaware of the "Be Our Guest" restaurant, and back in July, my friend Katie and I were discussing that it's total insanity that they've never thought of it. So, I feel psychic...even though it was announced when we thought of it. We didn't know though! So, it's like the same thing. :-)

Ana and I then rode the carpets in Adventureland...
dscn6093.jpg

Well don't you look thrilled! Hehe.

dscn6096.jpg

In the air! "Omg, you can control the carpet?" "WEEE, WEEEE!" -moves joystick up and down-

then we went and waited for like an HOUR to meet Ariel and Eric. I got a pineapple dole whip while we waited. YUM :lovestruc I proved to Ana I could frenchbraid my hair without a mirror while in line, and we sung some disney tunes. A little girl in front of us was afraid of Eric, so he went and hid while she met Ariel. It was so adorable <3 The wait was for sure worth it though, because Ariel said the best thing I think a character has ever said to me (so FAR anyways...foreshadowing!!) "be careful what you say on the beach- those seagulls spread nasty rumors!" We were like  so precious.
img1981j.jpg

Now off to "the wildest ride in the wilderness!" They pack you like sardines in there. I felt extremely claustrophobic. And at one point, a guy next to us in line totally looked like a legit Tom Hanks doppleganger. I would have sniped a picture if that totally wasn't creepy. The wait was again, of course worth it.
dscn6110.jpg

We should really do one land at a time. My feet were killing me as we headed back to Fantasyland. We rode the teacups, a green one of course! I was do dizzy. We were also very overtired and were laughing like banshees. (what's a banshee anyways? I just know it's a phrase. LOL.) Somehow we had a nice british accent revival. Before Ana moved, we talked in them alllllll the time. And somehow in that overtired ride, we brought them back. Not that I can complain.
dscn6113.jpg

Next up, Winnie the Pooh! Always will be a favorite :-) The new queue is ADORABLE! We of course, had to take pictures.
dscn6117q.jpg

dscn6116.jpg

Praying?
dscn6115f.jpg

dscn6119n.jpg

LOL.

And We didn't realize the oozing honey on the screens uncovered characters when you rubbed it, so when we saw this we flipped out. Yes, we're 16.
dscn6122z.jpg

"OMG. ANA ANA ANA ITS PIGLET!" "AHH LETS SAVE HIM!"

We then had to wait for out FP time, so we danced in the Tomorrowland dance party..thingy. We HAD video, but I somehow lost it, or accidentally deleted it. And I'm sad, because it had to have been classic. I also can't dance to save my life..so. It was a good time though, and I have no problem embarrassing myself, especially around people I will never see again.

FINALLY, Space Mountain time!!!!! I did not know there was a picture for that ride? Is that new? I deduced that the ride is definitely faster now, but i LOVED it. Nothing like a ride where you feel like your head is going to get chopped off at any minute because you can't see anything in front of you. You all know that feeling, right? Or am I insane?

And that was the day! We were all EXHAUSTED. My trip journal for the whole day is only a page, that's how tired I was. So a lot of this is pulled from my memory.

Hopefully I'll update SOON. Sorry this one is so long! Have a magical day!!!!
