Any other 1/2 Marathon or Marathon Runners?

Signing up with a friend for the WDW 1/2 on Jan 7th! DH is going to run the 5K and DS will be running the Mickey Mile!

Anyone else running and where are you staying?

Depending on the deals (AP vs. race deal) it will be POFQ or POLY for us!

Have gone every year since 2007 or 2006 can't remember done everything from the 5K to Goofy. Tons of fun. We stay at POP. This year we are doing the Marathon Relay. Need new bling

DH is running the 1/2 and I am getting up early to watch him do so. We are staying off site at the Baymont Inn & Suites in Kissimmee. We are arriving Dec 18 and driving back after race weekend.

1/2 Marathon for us ... it's me, DD14, DSis, and 2 adult nephews all participating. Some will be running, others of us will be power walking. This will be mine and DSis' 2nd Half at WDW ... the 4 sisters did the Half in 2005.

We are staying at Kidani Village at AKL.

I can never seem to make the WDW Marathon timing workout for me with owrk. Maybe a dumb question but anyone know if a guy can run the Princess or Tinkerbell 1/2? They seem to cater to female runners.

I know each year more and more men run the princess and I know you can register for the tinker bell, but I bet more men will run the princess. I think you can search for the percentages... There was a piece about men running it after the tink race was announced.

This is our first year for the Marathon Weekend. My dh is going to do the Goofy Challenge. A question: how do we find the race kit pick up area and when is it usually open? I'm assuming there is disney provided transportation?

Here is the info from the WDW site...

And I know for the princess transportation is only from the race resorts, but I believe all resorts are race resorts for this one!

Location: Jostens® Center and HP Field House at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex

All runners are required to attend Disney's Health & Fitness Expo for race number and Packet Pick-Up. You will need to download your personalized race number pick-up card/waiver form online and bring it with you to Packet Pick-Up at the Expo when it becomes available online before the event.

So when we google "ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex", it shows far far away from the parks. Can this be right?

Also, if I want to see my dh cross the finish @ the Marathon, am I going to have to use up a park ticket?

It is right over by CBR and POP... just farther away from the parks, but still on Disney property and owned by Disney.

The finish is actually just outside Epcot in the parking lot right by the bag drop. It is the opposite side of the Monorail from the bus area, so no park ticket needed.

I and my DBF are running the DL 1/2 in September (day before my birthday!) and i've signed up for the Half in January. I'm thinking of doing the relay but so far I've been unsuccessful at convincing DBF he wants to run it with me.
