Wait, what? We Drank Four Pitchers Not Five! Feb. 2011 TR - Update 9/6 Pg. 20

I don't know the best way to describe them, but I'll try.

You know those toys you give kids to play with that have wood bottoms and then a plastic "course" that they slide one end of the ball from to the other? They loop around and such. The bee is the same thing. They are attached to the metal rod, but you can slide it from one end to the other. Many of the kids grabbed bunches of them, instead of just sliding one.

Oh, I was thinking you were saying it was something you could take with you. I understand now. :)

Well, based off yours, I probably will now. I just need to decide which one. Hmm... when I start my PTR I definitely will and the thing is, the trip isn't starting until awhile *points to countdown in siggy* Haha

:guilty:----> ;) Well I think I've been taunted enough that I'm starting to get used to it, teehee :-)

OOOOHHHH... totally makes more sense now. I may just buy a few, but I think pins is my thing and I rather not do both, based on the fact, I won't be down quite as often as many on here...

I would definitely say avoid the vinylmations if you don't want a habit. If you're going to only buy a few go for the ones that you can see in the packaging not the hidden ones. It's the hidden ones that create the addiction because you just have to try to get the stinkin' on you want!

Oh, I was thinking you were saying it was something you could take with you. I understand now. :)

Yeah I could totally get how what I said could have been misleading. Silly me. The track is pretty long so you kind of take them with you in line and then it ends where you started.

Cool vinylmations - esp the Buzz one! :thumbsup2

Love all the purchases you made! Hope you win on TSMM and mmmm at that No Way Jose!! :cloud9:

Good to know :-) :thumbsup2

Man, I have been having issues with my computer. I get on the internet, and can only go to a few places, and then the internet just stops and doesn't connect to anything. I've done all of the suggested actions, so I need to take it in to Apple to see what's up. So, I've had to backup all my stuff and get some pictures transferred to the other computer to upload to Photobucket.

Anywho, onward! I have to finish this TR before we go back for my parent's 40th. That's what I've committed to in my mind. :thumbsup2

So, the day prior Jason and I had suggested changing our itinerary. There was rain in the forecast for this day. Remember how Jason and I have never been to Universal when it's nice? I wanted to at least attempt to get there when it was nicer. So we decided to go to DHS this day instead.

Good for me. My ego needed a boost and nothing can boost my ego better than beating Jason at something. *cough*

We slept in a little bit this morning and were out the door at 8:45am. We decided to hoof it over to DHS instead of taking the boat. The boat was moving soooooo slow that I reasoned in my little head that walking was faster.

It was. I don't know why more people don't do this. It wasn't raining yet, and we made it right when the gates opened. And beat the boat.

Take that boat riding lazies! :lmao:

We had a few Photopass pictures taken (don't worry, I will be posting those. Like a dee dee dee, I misplaced the CD at first, and I just found it the other day. Whew!).

I wasted no time taking pictures of the monstrosity......I mean the hat!

Instead we just ran over to TSM. I grabbed two fastpasses and then we hopped in line. The wait was posted as 20 minutes, but it was only around 10.

One potato, two potato, three potato, four!

CIMG3887.jpg

We played.

CIMG3888.jpg

CIMG3889.jpg

Who won?

CIMG3891.jpg

Mwaa ha ha ha ha ha ha ha haaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!

Jason didn't seem too thrilled if you ask me!

CIMG3890.jpg

Whatever. It's payback for all of my younger years when I always came in last!

It had started raining a bit then, so we decided to run over someplace indoors to get a small snack for breakfast. We decided on the Writer's Stop. It was the closest and it was indoors!

We both got boring bagels.

CIMG3892.jpg

It started raining pretty hard when we were eating.

CIMG3893.jpg

CIMG3894.jpg

It's a good thing we were indoors! Sugar melts, and I am clearly made of sweet sweet sugar!

Once the rain started to let up, we were just finishing up. We decided to head over to the Animation courtyard. Jason was on a mission to find something Special Agent Oso for Joaquin, and I figured if they had anything, this was the place to find it. We didn't find anything, so we decided to head into the Animation tour.

I love Rapunzel!

CIMG3895.jpg

At first we were going to wait in line to see Lottso, but the line was kind of long. Jason decided that a picture from a distance would be sufficient.

CIMG3898.jpg

Our fastpasses were up for TSM at this time, so we headed back over there.

Our scores.....

CIMG3899.jpg

CIMG3900.jpg

CIMG3901.jpg

Oh, don't you let Jason's happy face fool you. Because I won again!

CIMG3902.jpg

Boo yah!!!!!!

Cont. in next post

All of that shooting on TSM truly made me hungry. Repeated movement with your arm like that can really burn off calories, let me tell you!

It was still early, so a lot of the restaurants had just opened up. I figured at this point that we may be able to get into the 50's Prime Time because it was early and there were only two of us.

Well bonus, they were able to seat us right away!!!!

This is one of my favorite restaurants. Well, they now have a favorites platter which is not really on the menu. It has the chicken, meatloaf, and the pot roast.

CIMG3903.jpg

Well shut my mouth and call me hungry!

Wait, should it be open my mouth and call me hungry?

We didn't get a TV table, but were able to view one!

CIMG3904.jpg

The pot roast is still my favorite, but the entire platter was good.

I did get in trouble though. See, when I'm finished eating, I always put my napkin over my plate. I think of it like a signal, right? I'm done, so you can take my plate.

Well, the server thought I was covering over the fact that I didn't eat all my vegetables (in truth, there was some meatloaf left too, it was just too much). So she continued to give me a hard time about trying to hide the evidence. It was cute, but this was the only interaction we really got from her. Kind of a let down.

We headed over to Tatooine Traders afterward for some Star Wars goodies. It was at this time that I decided to pick up my next trip mascot. Wicket! He looks mischievous, so I don't think he'll be any better than the Yeti!

It was close to 1pm at this time and I told Jason that I wanted to watch the American Idol Experience, because I had never seen it.

CIMG3905.jpg

CIMG3907.jpg

We only had two performers. One girl was 14 and the other 15. The 15 year old was from England. She was very good and the judges told her if she took lessons, she could build what was naturally there. I agreed with them and we voted for her.

The second girl, bless her, was not as good. She was basically flat the entire time. But I give her props for auditioning and participating.

The girl from England won, and rightfully so.

Then we headed to....

CIMG3908.jpg

After this, we discussed our plan for the rest of the day. Jason didn't want to do Rockin' Roller Coaster, because we all know he wasn't feeling well for the whole week. We agreed on Epcot for the night, but didn't know what to do for the rest of the day. We figured walking back to the resort would help us to decide.

View of the park from the path to the Boardwalk.

CIMG3909.jpg

Bye ToT!

CIMG3910.jpg

We had a long walk in front of us.

CIMG3911.jpg

Jason says, "what the heck, I'll jog back!"

CIMG3913.jpg

He's doing okay so far!

CIMG3914.jpg

Wait, he's not doing so well anymore.

CIMG3912.jpg

The rain was done at this point, and we stopped at the resort to drop off our purchases. When we were walking, Jason asked if I wanted to see Tron. I checked the Pleasure Island theater, but they weren't playing it anymore. However, the theater at Universal was. So we decided that was where we were going to head.

We walked over the Epcot to get a quick snack, and then head to City walk to see Tron. We went to France to get our snack. We got a cheese plate, eclair, chocolate mousse, a coffee for Jason and an espresso for me. I have no idea why I have no pictures! It was all excellent.

We headed back to the resort to get the car. The thing that I found interesting about the parking situation at Universal is the fact that they charge you to even go to City Walk. Huh? You want me to pay to park to shop, eat, and see a movie?

Disney doesn't do that......just sayin!

It was free for me because I'm a passholder, but still.

The movie was good and we watched the 3D version. We watched the original Tron when we were kids, so I was excited to see the new one. It brought back so many memories, and it was very visually stimulating.

After the movie, we decided it was time for some dinner. We got back to the resort, dropped off the car and walked back to Epcot. We had dinner at the Tangierine Cafe.

My platter. Sorry, 1/2 eaten!

CIMG3915.jpg

Jason got a lamb wrap and we both got a Casa beer. It was all very good. Jason's heartburn was acting up again, so we headed back instead of drinking more beer in other countries.

And you men say women can't handle it, right?

Well there goes my drinking around the world plan.

I did get a chocolate crepe when we passed through France though.

Take that Jason!

We made it back to the room and it was actually perfect timing to watch Bones, my favorite show, so it wasn't so bad.

But Jason needs to man up!

Up Next: Universal, take two!

all caught up.

looks like a fun time so far.

Glad you went on Harry, maybe I will one day.

Great pics.

Will be back to read more...

We didn't get a TV table, but were able to view one!

CIMG3904.jpg

Um...I know I'm really bad...but one of those wall pictures just threw me for a loop, at first!! :scared1:

As for the rest -- :yay: The food looked awesome. But, I'm surprised your brother didn't claim "not feeling well" for losing to you so many times!!

...I've never see Idol, either...would you recommend it as a must do?

It's was definitely a fun trip. Harry was great fun. You will definitely ride one day! :thumbsup2

:lmao:

Totally did not even notice that, but now........

You're not bad! ;)

I was surprised he didn't either. Amazingly enough, he did not make up any excuses for TSM. Maybe he had just given up at that point......

American Idol was fun. Because of the time of year, the theater was really empty. I think if there were more people it would be more fun. What I might do next time though is go to the finale show. That would be fun to see who gets the golden ticket. I recommend seeing it for sure.

Hope you get your computer sorted soon - it's a pain when it doesn't work! :headache:

After reading about all the rain it sounds like you made a good call to change your plans! :thumbsup2

Yay at beating Jason twice at TSMM!! I really thought that he had won the second time round - that pic is deceiving! :lmao:

Can't wait to meet Wicket and read about all the new antics!

Awww... that stinks your computer isn't working. My laptop was "out-of-service" for like 6 months, so I know how much you lose through it. And after having it gone for so long, I much prefer the laptop to the regular computer. Moving on... I still can't believe how high your scores are! I mean, you were so close to the highest score of the day both times you went on TSM. I've always thought I've gotten high scores on that and you doubled it! You took a lot of that "losing" when you were younger to heart. Sheesh! And I'm sad to see Yeti wasn't in this chapter :( But you do have your new little mascot for the next trip now though :) Can't wait to meet Wicket! :goodvibes And the food you had in France and 50's sounds/looks REALLY GOOD! Must stop by those places sometime :-) Can't wait to hear about your second Universal day! :mickeyjum

Hopefully I can get it all figured out. I feel like I'm completely lost without it. Fortunately my mom has been kind enough to lend me her laptop when I need it.

I know, that picture of Jason is completely deceiving! LOL. He totally looked like he won that time.

I feel like my arm has been cut off. Seriously, without the laptop I'm so lost.

I basically just pull on the cannon until my arm has no feeling left in it. That's my only secret on TSM.

Oh, I did take losing to heart! Remember, I said I was very competitive!

Wicket will play prominently in our upcoming trip. Sorry about missing the Yeti! :guilty: I realized in retrospect when I was going through the pictures that he didn't play as prominently later in the trip. Maybe I was running out of things he could do.....or patience with him, that could have been it.

France always has great things! But they do tend to get pretty busy by early afternoon, so I recommend stopping there early.

Bump.

I'm back from my trip. I will be finishing this TR soon and starting that one too. I will post a link here soon for anyone who wishes to follow.

Today was our last full day in Florida. :sad1:

I was determined to go back to IOA, ride the Forbidden Journey, and keep my eyes open dangit!

We slept in a little later then before and were out of the room on our way at about 8:30ish. Fortunately, I know where I'm going now, so I don't have to worry about the GPS leading me to the wrong Universal Orlando!

We got there in no time and I valeted the car again. I love having the premier annual pass at Universal solely for that reason.

By the time we were there, the park had just opened up. We decided to head into the WWoHP right away again to avoid the lines. The entire purpose was to prove once and for all that I'm not really a pansy.

I took some pictures heading in this time.

Yum yum, puking pastilles.

DSCN1320.jpg

Warning. Thar be pictures ahead!

We made it to the Forbidden Journey and we headed in. I took my camera this time and had Jason put it in his pocket once we were on the ride. I was happy to be able to take pictures inside, so here is what I ended up with.

CIMG3920.jpg

CIMG3922.jpg

CIMG3924.jpg

CIMG3925.jpg

CIMG3926.jpg

CIMG3932.jpg

CIMG3933.jpg

So we get to the Sorting Hat and I have to sike myself out again, because I am determined to keep my eyes open. I will keep my eyes open, I will keep my eyes open.......

I kept my eyes open! Woo hoo!

And then I proceeded to tell myself I was an idiot, because it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.

After that, we headed in to buy some candy at Honeydukes, and we saw the crowd difference this time around. Friday's were definitely worse then Tuesday's. Honeydukes was packed! I got friendly with quite a few people, and not intentionally.

I ended up buying some chocolate frogs, and a few other things in the other store. I always get my Grandma something, so I got her a magnet. She's a huge Potter fan. I also got something for my BFF Farrell, to wet her appetite for our visit in October.

By the time we were done with the ride and done shopping, it was around 10am. We hadn't eaten breakfast, but our plan was to eat at Mythos. They didn't open until 11am though. To bide our time, we headed over to Superhero Island.

CIMG3934.jpg

And we rode Spiderman again. I love that ride. Then, we went to ride the Cat in the Hat.

CIMG3935.jpg

CIMG3936.jpg

We waited longer for this ride then we did for the Forbidden Journey! :scared1: I have no idea what happened, but it took quite some time for them to get on the ride.

I think this ride is cute, but it seems to soundstagey. Like, you can easily see the lighting and stuff. I've always found that a little offputting. Definitely not a Disney dark ride.

It was almost 11am at this point, so we headed back to the Lost Continent. And Jason posed like a dork.

CIMG3937.jpg

Seriously, for some reason he cracks me up in this picture.

Mythos was letting people in, but not seating yet. We had a chance to look over the menu while we waited. We were let in and I took some pictures.

CIMG3938.jpg

CIMG3939.jpg

I thought it was pretty nicely themed overall.

We ordered and our food came pretty quickly. I got.

CIMG3940.jpg

And Jason got.

CIMG3941.jpg

The food was good and I was not disappointed. Much better then eating at bad counter service at Universal if you ask me.

What I am curious about is Mythos claim to being the best theme park restaurant for 6 years or something? Like an award they win? I'm not saying the restaurant wasn't good, but I'm curious about what the criteria are? Inquiring minds would like to know.

I was happy with the choice and I thought the food was very reasonably priced as well.

Up next: The Studios!

DD and I just saw the last Harry Potter movie last night... popcorn:: It was excellent and now I want to watch the first 7 movies all over again...

And seeing your IOA pictures makes me want to take the kids there next year on vacation instead of Disney... :scared1:

Ohh, I saw it on Thursday. Sooooo good. It actually makes me want to read all of the books again.

I would say that Universal is worth a stop, but I don't know if I could dedicate a trip to it. I think it just doesn't have enough to it. Just my opinion though.

Yay on going back to IOA! :cool1:

Love all the pictures esp of the inside of The Forbidden Journey :thumbsup2 I was with you on hoping that you kept your eyes open this time around and was happy to read that that is exactly what you did!! :woohoo: Btw all this talk about WWoHP is making me soo excited for my visit in September.

Your food does look good and once you find out the criteria for the awards please do share! I am also curious.
