What is your not so normal item to pack, which is helpful while at WDW ?

Great tips!! I have noticed people have been saying sound machines, but if you have a droid-based phone or iPhone, they have apps on there for white noise, ocean waves, etc. Works amazingly!!!

Please don't! I know with my asthma if I rented the room after you were in it and had put any scented oil on the bedding, I would be miserable. Spending my whole vacation sucking on my inhalor, or worse, would be no fun!

Please have a little consideration for those who will be in the room after you. You should never spread or sprinkle anything scented around the room or in the bedding.

The bedding is cleaned and most everyone folds down the top coverlet. I think this is a GREAT tip and I'm going to do this on my trip in January for sure! I also travel a great deal and I'll be using this tip from now on. I'm scared of bed bugs and lavendar is soothing and helps people relax so its a double benefit!!:cloud9:

NOT Everyone folds down the top Coverlet and with my children's Asthma it would not matter once the sent is in the room they could have a reaction. So what may be so soothing to you could be life treating and very scary to a young child. I would never do anything to put someone else child in danger please do the same for mine.

I just remembered one more thing......

a pack of wire hangers. These take up much less suitcase space than plastic hangers. If you don't use them at home then you can just leave them there.

Just a tip - you can always call Mousekeeping for extra hangers for your room. They will bring as many as you like, and even ask if you want regular or skirt/pants hangers (with clips). No need to pack your own hangers.

i love this thread! we are off for another disney vacation in 2 weeks and i learn more and more every time i'm on here. I am definitely thinking about bringing our Brita filtered water bottles for the park. it should help with the cost of buying disney water bottles all day long! hope this helps!

I take a stack of lids from take-out drinks. If you turn it upside down and insert a popsicle or mickey bar through the straw x-cut, then the lid will catch any drips! :mickeybar

love the idea; specially with young ones they get very upset when I eat half their ice cream because it is going to melt.:rotfl2:

In addition to many of these wonderful suggestions I keep these in my Ready for Disney bag:
-Airborne and dish cleanser wipes for hotel glasses; everyone has a dose before bed the week before we leave and for the length of our stay
-Midol - great for back aches - DH (yes, DH) swears by it
-zipfizz - orange soda energy drink mix single use tubes for bottled water. We found them at Sam's and they don't have aspertame :) my kids love them
-epi pen for my son's peanut allergy
-extra battery for my camera and a memory card for every day. It might seem excessive but if something happened to my camera I would hate to lose all my pictures
-word search puzzle books for the kids - great for waiting! At Michael's I found a Disney princess soft sided pen/pencil holder in the $1 rack.
-Miralax because you just never know:scared1:

DD is very picky about her how her clothes feel and doesn't always match things up the way I think they should. I didn't want to argue with her at WDW. So, we sat down a month before the trip (seasons were changing so I had no problem packing all of her shorts/short sleeve shirts) and planned outfits for every day of our trip. I packed each outfit- underwear & all- in a gallon baggie. A couple of times she switched around some outfits but it worked really well overall. I can only remember one discussion of what matches what on an 11 day trip!

My husband likes to bring props for photos ex: on Dinosaur the picture from the ride showed a bunch of people screaming and DH looking very intrigued by the Hidden Mickey book he was reading... and on TOT he's in the photo holding a Mickey doll and a giant lollypop crying! He's kind of a nut.:rotfl2:

Someone mentioned earlier in this thread about mailing Christmas cards from Disney. If you mail something from Disney, does it get a special postmark? Pretty cool if it does! :)

He sounds like a lot of fun!

Not sure if it has been mentioned but I pack the gel shoe inserts to put in my DS shoes to give him that extra added height!

I am curious about your airborne. I would like to do something like this but I absolutely can't stand the taste of anything item I've tried. I used to love the Zicam nose swabs but they've taken those off the market because people were complaining that it damaged their sense of smell. I thought it worked so well I was willing to live with a damaged sense of smell and really miss those swabs. Is your Airborne something you have to taste? I wish they could just put it in a capsule but I guess it wouldn't work as well?

Baking powder. Throw the box in a ziplock bag before you leave. I have a friend who was Navy Seals and told me this trick to treat a sunburn. Mix the powder with enough cold water to make a slightly runny paste. Apply liberally to sunburned area and allow to air dry on your skin. Take a cool shower, followed by Motrin (tylenol won't do a thing for the inflammation of your crispy skin).

I swear to you, NOTHING has never worked better. Not any aloe gel or Natural food store remedy. Of course, not getting burnt is the best, but in those times of forgetting to reapply your sunscreen, this really helps.

New underwear and socks. My mom would always buy us new stuff and I still do this. Nothing better than fresh, new unmentionables. And if you fly, it saves you the embarrassment of TSA sorting through your well worn things :scared1:

I see you are new so Welcome!!!:)

But your idea, not really a good one. Height restrictions are set for a reason, and it is best to not try and get around them. Besides, we are not supposed to post ways to break any Disney rule.
