Our Disneymoon PTR + Wedding TR w/ pics - I'm back! (TR link and POP review 9/7)

Awww! It looks like you had a lot of fun :goodvibes You were so pretty! I love your hair. Congrats again on getting married!

Mel, you looked so beautiful! They did a wonderful job on your hair and makeup. It all looks so professional! :cloud9:

Yay! I can't wait for more wedding updates! :goodvibes

Thanks girls! :goodvibes

We just received the "professional" pictures from Ron's friend, and there are over 600 of them, so it'll take me a while to go through all of them and pick out the best to post here. Hopefully I'll be able to post the Ceremony update this weekend. princess:

Wedding Day (part 2) - Ceremony

Day 5 - Wednesday May 4th

When I last left you Ron and all our guests were up on the spa terrace waiting for me and the ceremony to start. The wedding coordinator picked me up in my room and we walked inside all the way to the elevators. At the top DCous joined the rest of the guests while my bridal party and I stayed safely hidden.
This was the "aisle".

I teared up when I first saw him, but did not actually cried.

Wedding Day (part 2) - Ceremony cont'd

Ron tried to serve champagne to the MOH's son

She said no
_MG_8471.jpg

Here's what my bouquet looked like. I only had a choice between roses, carnations or lilies, so I chose lilies, as well as pink and oranges for my colors. DCous had also taken a few pink hibiscus left as decoration by the maid to add more color to my bouquet.

And finally we took a group picture with all of our guests. Of course Ron's brother had to fool around a little.

Up Next : Pictures around the resort and... What are newlyweds to do two hours after getting married?

sorry I am late to the game! I have been reading along though! Everything looks so beautiful!

Pics like yours make me sad that i don't fly! I am however grateful to live vicariously through you!

You looked gorgeous on your wedding day, and it seems like everyone had a blast!

Can't wait to hear what a married couple does 2 hours and after taking the plunge :D

Oh, yes, you are missing some gorgeous places by not flying. But I know Florida has some pretty nice looking beaches too. :)

Everyone did have a blast. Getting married down south was by far the BEST decision we could have made. We actually just spent the evening with my brother showing each other our pictures, and wishing we were back there.

So, what do you think we did later that afternoon? I'd love to hear (read) guesses. :upsidedow

Your wedding looked beautiful! Thank you for sharing the photos.. love the colour scheme too :goodvibes

Don't the colors just pop?! I love love love it! It makes for awesome pictures.:cloud9:

My brother complained a little about having to wear pink, but people, including his girlfriend, complimented him so he didn't mind it so much after.

DD also complained about the pink, but she tried on dresses in both colors and I left the choice to her! Kids. :confused3:rotfl:

Yes, all of our guests had an amazing time and everyone had fun hanging out with each other. Even my family, who doesn't speak English, enjoyed hanging out with his family, who doesn't speak French! :upsidedow

We had a little bit of drama, but it was all very minor, and mostly between DH and I. There was the miscommunication with the wedding coordinator, grumpy Ron during the catamaran trip, another mini fight coming up on the last day.

We also had an "almost" drama moment on the Monday. Ron's best man was also our unofficial photographer. He has a great camera and loves to take pictures, so he agreed to take some pictures of us. We had agreed on a few shots after the wedding, and a trash the dress session one morning. Well when we met the wedding coordinator she asked us if we wanted to rent an old car to take us to take pictures somewhere nice. I had read about it prior to leaving and we had decided not to take it, but once there I sort of had a bridezilla moment and caved in to the pressure. We didn't even ask his friend, we just assumed he would take an hour or two out of his time to come with us, not once thinking about the fact that he has 1 year old baby to take care of, and that the baby was already being babysat a lot by the grandparents due to him and his wife being the BM and MOH. So when we kinda sprung the news on him we could see that he was very uncomfortable about it but was too nice to say anything. I felt so bad after we got back to the room, that Ron immediately went back to look for him, told him to forget it, we were being selfish and inconsiderate, and we canceled the next day. Phew, crisis averted.

Mel, the ceremony looked amazing!!! You were absolutely stunning, and I love the picture of Ron tearing up! Those pictures always get me! I'm secretly hoping Miguel has the same reaction when he sees me walking down the aisle! :lmao:

I loved reading about your day at BB, thats where I worked for 2 years and it has a very special place in my <3

Your wedding was gorgeous! I love your dress, and bouquet, and how everything had a tropical feel to it. Just beautiful :goodvibes

Even though it's kinda blurry, that picture of Ron tearing up is one of my favorite! :lovestruc
But I don't even remember if I noticed him when he did that. I know I was staring at him the whole time, but I might have been too focused on me not tearing up to notice it. :rotfl:

:welcome: Not only did we have a great time at BB, but it was also the first time that Ron's daughter ever enjoyed being in the water. It's what helped us push her to get swimming lesson. That picture of her smiling in the little wave pool was a great motivator.:thumbsup2

We are very much looking forward to trying BB again next summer, but this time just the two of us. I keep changing my mind though, about whether or not I want to try Summit Plummet. :scared1:

:welcome: Thanks! I really truly do feel that I could not have gotten married in a more gorgeous place and with more amazing people to hang out with. :cloud9:

Trust me, I understand the doubts about SP, when I first started there we went to the top for the view, its AMAZING but I was scared of heights. It was a rough first few weeks when I would have to work that stand and run up there for my shift, I wouldnt look down. One morning I got picked as ride tester and I had no choice but to go down or let everyone know my fear. I loved it. Its honestly over very quick, we used to time each other and have a radar gun to play with I hit 67 mph lol. SLush gusher is my favorite though since you get air on the second bump. :lovestruc

I probably will try it. I just get scared thinking about it. Not sure why though, I did bungee jumping for crying out loud! I get very nervous before something big, but really I love the thrill once I've done it. I'm kind of an adrenaline junkie.

Speaking of adrenaline rush and waterparks, I was checking out the website of a local waterpark and their newest slide opening in 2011 actually goes UPSIDE DOWN!!! It does a 2.5G loop!!! It's completely crazy.:scared1: And yet I'll probably try it...:rolleyes1
Click here if you want to check it out.

It's already been one month since we got married. Wow! :bride:

Also, there are only 13 days left with the students, and 4 more days of work for me after that. It's crazy how fast this year has gone! :yay:

In just a little over two months we'll be leaving for Disney. :wizard:

Today I was walking around the baby section of Walmart, looking at all the cute clothes they have for little ones, a lot of which are Disney themed. Hopefully after our Disneymoon this will be the next step in our married life. :cloud9:

Wedding Day (part 3) - Picture Time

Day 5 continued - Wednesday May 4th

After we got done taking pictures with everyone, most people left while we went around the resort to take more pictures with our wedding party.
My family stayed with us as well. We first went to the lobby terrace, on the third floor.

_MG_8535.jpg

Isn't Ron nice, keeping all the shade for himself?
_MG_8532.jpg

Ok, that's better!
_MG_8539.jpg

Eventually we made our way to the little wooden walkway towards the beach.
_MG_8544.jpg

Ron and his brother thought those wooden posts looked like a fighting ring, so they had a pretend boxing match.
_MG_8548.jpg

This picture looks so fake! As if we were in a studio in front of a screen.

_MG_8566.jpg

My family had followed us because they wanted a picture with us on the beach
_MG_8571.jpg

I don't know if you remember, but we were originally suppose to get married on the beach. Because it had been so windy that week, we had moved it to the spa terrace. What a good decision that was! After just a few minutes on the beach taking pictures, we were HOT! You can sorta tell how hot it was by this picture
_MG_8576.jpg

By then we were done taking pictures with others, so most everyone left, except DD and the photographer, of course.
We took a picture around the staircase that leads to the rooms
_MG_8584.jpg

And in the much bigger staircase that leads from the lobby to the buffet
_MG_8587.jpg

DD was being a bit silly
_MG_8595.jpg

And with that, we were done taking pictures. We didn't take a lot as we didn't want to impose on Ron's friend, who was nice enough to take pictures for us for free.
Somebody else must have been with us, because we somehow got strawberry daiquiris. Phew, we can finally sit down and relax.

Yes, the maid had filled the bathtub with hot water and pink petals. Lovely! :cloud9:
We enjoyed the tub a little, but not too long because it became cold rather quickly.

Then we got ready for...

Wedding Day (part 4) - Pool Time!!!

Day 5 continued - Wednesday May 4th

Yep, that's right, two hours after we got married we changed into our swimwear and went to hang out by the pool.
RonMelSonyWedding157.jpg

Lots of people were already there, like my entire family, and almost all of "our generation".

As you can see, some were already well advanced in the "drinking"

Somebody told Ron's brother that his legs were too white compared to the top half of his body, so he tried to tan just his legs

And this is where I made probably my biggest mistake of the week. I too started drinking as soon as I got there. After about two drinks, I could feel it affecting me (I had eaten barely anything that day, remember?). I told myself I should stop and drink water. So what did I do? I headed straight to Ron's drink and quickly drank half of it. After a while I started feeling not so good. It was getting late in the day, so we decided to go back to the room and nap, hoping I'd feel better in time for the wedding dinner at 8:30pm.

Up Next : Will I feel better for my wedding dinner?

There were so many beautiful backdrops for pictures there! I love the ones on the various different staircases and the walkway to the beach. :cloud9:

I love how relaxed your wedding day was! How fun to get to lounge by the pool after the ceremony! I hope you started to feel better after your nap, though! :goodvibes
