I'd Walk a Mile for a Cupcake- an SSR Quickie! 4/4-4/7/11 FINISHED!! 6/29

Sorry- I guess I didn't leave alot of time between posts. No...no need for lots of water or milk- you mean because the food was spicy? Not at all- Tim HATES even the slightest bit of spice. Tyler can do some- and I am up for MEGA hotness anytime!! But this was just yummy, not spicy. Is that what you meant?

No, I was referring to the Soda Bread. I heard such rave reviews about the dessert, I had to go back inside and get some milk, I almost choked on the thing, because it was so dry.

Ya lost me...the soda bread? Do you mean school bread? I did not get to it this day due to the line- you'll have to be patient to see if the elusive school bread will or won't be on the menu this trip....:rolleyes1

Nice picture of you and the kids in the end.

When I walk around Epcot, I just take it all in, and forget to get my camera out. I love looking at all your pictures.

Did you buy resale for the BWV? or can you still buy points.

We did resale- when I saw that contracts were going through for $60 per point in December, I mentioned it to Pods. I fell off my chair when he said to make an offer an a 100 point contract!! :woohoo: We got ours for $64- and they announced the resale changes after we were in contract, so really lucked out- resales were insane for a couple of months, very aggressive.

Thank you! I have to make a beeline to Mexico when we go to Epcot in July so I can pick one of these up for Mike and make amends for the fact that I hustled him through Cozumel with an exasperated "Babe, we haven't seen them anywhere....maybe they just don't exist here? Come on! I want to get back on the ship!". Only to have him see one in the hands of a teenager at debarkation a few days later....:rolleyes1

And if buying the skull doesn't work, the caramel place will be my next stop. Mike is a die-hard caramel fan. I told him there was a caramel store in Epcot now and I think his eyes rolled back a little!

If the skull doesn't get me forgiven, the caramel totally will!

When I stopped to take that picture, Tyler thought I was CRAZY!!! :rotfl: I explained the whole thing to him, and STILL he thought I was crazy!!

Looks like you had a wonderful mini-visit! I am hoping my little one will grow a bit before October so I can get her on some of the height restricted rides. I still have never been on Test Track or seen Fantasmic at HS after our 5 times there but that's just an excuse to go back again!

That's a great way to look at it- as an excuse to go back again. :thumbsup2 I know I say RnRC is my favorite ride, but actually it may be Test Track- just because it's one EVERYONE in my family can ride together, and enjoy. It's fun, especially at the end! :woohoo:

I'm so glad that you got your iphone back and in working condition, I know that was a relief. The Boardwalk looks like so much fun! We have never been there before, but we plan on staying there after our three day Dream cruise in September:banana:

I didn't "get" the BW until recently- I had not seen the entertainment anytime I had ever visited, and we only spent one night after our cruise there. Once I saw a magician doing a show with a kid, it clicked for me- I can't wait to stay there next month!!:yay:

Love the picture of you and the boys. Its a keeper for sure.

Just received an email from AirTran saying there is a schedule change for our flight in June/July. Ugh. :headache:

However, when I read the schedule there is no change going down, still arriving at 9:44 a.m., but return has us arriving at the home airport at 11:15 p.m. Oh how sad (not really). We now have another full day at Disney. :cool1: :rolleyes1

OMG, that caramel looks so great! I love the stuff, especially turtles.:lovestruc We will also have to hit thecantina, it looks so much better than when we went in Sept of 09. They had those huge churros, but too much for me. I have to have one of those beef tacos!

My DH would love making that ride because he is math crazy  He still wouldn't ride it though!

I just love it on the BW, one of my faves. We usually ride the boat from HD to the BW.

Ironically the meds that I take for my RA can cause permanent blindness, so I have to see an eye doc every 6 months.

The turtles in that shop looked divine- Pods loves them, I think I'll bring one home for him on this visit-

The meds for RA are so scary- I hope that you never have to deal with ANY of the side effects.

:) Just getting caught up on your last few updates, looks like you are having a good trip so far.

I love that Gold Rush sundae! I am a big fan of the Reese's PB cup sundae at Friendly's and this reminds me of that one.:cloud9: My other love is caramel:love: so you can bet I will be getting myself to that Caramel Shop in Germany when I am down there in May!

Glad you liked Kouzzina, we are also trying that one for the first time when we go.

Wed did have a lot of fun- definitely some drama mixed in, though! I do hope you like Kouzzina- I would definitely go back! :thumbsup2

i agree i heart mine too.. yet sometimes my fat cheek hits the mute button on people :confused3

So El did it not have a scratch on it...? do you have an otterbox on it? or was it just pure disney magic:wizard:

I only have a protective cover on the screen- no otterbox. Pure Disney magic, for sure!! There is a scratch, but it is on that cover of the phone- so no problem.

BTW Kara, you have me cracken up with some of your post... here I thought Ib was the funniest person I knew.. but your a close 2nd.. :lmao: seriously you crack me up

ok lets see if i can member everything....
LOVe Timmy "hinting" about not getting any extras! i say thats the way to do it from now on! :worship:

Yea, he was takin no chances- a cupcake with a candle & singing, or ELSE!! :rotfl2:

food looks yummy.. and omg yeah a pretty fofo drink.

That drink was perfect for me- hope I get to have another in May...

I think this is a great pic of you 3 v:thumbsup2
IMG_1167.jpg

Thanks!! I was just happy they were willing to pose for a minute with me!

Loved the updates! I'm glad the Sum Of... ride was a success for Tyler this time! Sorry you lost your phone, yet happy you got it back!

Love the space hats on the boys, as well as the viking gear! It is so fun that they are still so playful together! :thumbsup2

Yea, they really are good buddies. They have their moments, they ARE brothers, but we are very fortunate that they clearly do enjoy each other for the most part. :lovestruc

You got some beautiful F&G shots!! Wow! Kouzzina looks really good! I hadn't thought I would like it before, but you got some really yummy choices!

I think Kouzzina is similar to Sanaa- if you only like plain meat & potatoes, you will not be happy at either of these places. But....if plain meat & potatoes is not what you want in a dinner out, then this may be a great choice!

I was not a big fan of Kouzzina's. We went when they first opened & the meat that I had was so salty that I couldn't eat it. It was the brined flank steak. My DH loved his Fisherman's Stew & we both liked the bread & the desserts. Part of my problem may have been that by dinner time I had "hit the wall", too hot, not enough water & an adult beverage!

Glad you found someone to help you. I am so sorry both you and Sean suffer from it.
We really had to fight to get Hayden's DXed. He have rheumatoid Arthritis too. Poor kid is going to grow up to be a weather man. He feels it in his bones. He spikes fevers with the bad weather. It is snowing here today and he has a temp of 101. I sent him to school because I can't keep him home 2 or 3 times a week for fevers. He will run them for a month at a time. He refuses to wear jeans anymore because they hurt his knees. As soon as he gets home from school he puts on sweat pants then rolls up the pants legs so they are over his knees :sad2:

I would have been so worried about my iPhone the entire day! I have had mine for three years and still :lovestruc it. I was going to get the 4 when that came out but the 5 is "supposed" to come out this summer so I figured why not wait a bit more. I am all decked out in apple
I am reading Kingdom Keepers 4 right now and in the first chapter there was something about those simulators ;) It was the ones in Disney Quest but I believe they are similar?
Glad you loved the caramel shoppe :thumbsup2 So yummy!! I can't wait for another treat (s)!!
Oh and I didn't know you were once not very keen on the thrill rides :rolleyes1

Gotta love an airline change that gives you more vacation!! :yay: Oh WELL.......

I think that was the case for everyone in the beginning- it got HORRIBLE reviews- then, NO reviews (presumably because of all the awful reviews), and now the word seems to have improved. I did not find my food seasoning to be off at all- unusual, but not bad. I think breakfast there seemed to start the positive trend, and I am anxious to try it for that meal next month! All the bad reviews kept me away from it totally until recently- I did have it booked for breakfast in October, but no one seemed willing to actually get their butts outta bed for that one, so we cancelled.

Glad you found someone to help you. I am so sorry both you and Sean suffer from it.

Thanks, but at this point I have no idea how Sean might suffer from it- his communication skills REALLY limit him. :sad2: I am SO sad about Hayden and the fevers, though! I had no idea the artritis could have this result. Also didn't know you could get stuck with both kinds of inflammatory arthritis. So, so sorry.:hug::hug::hug::hug: What a brave, tough little boy he must be. :lovestruc

Every time I thought about the phone I stopped myself because I wasn't wasting ANY time in Disney on worrying! I'm not usually a worry wart anyway. The ride in DQ is similar- but the robotic arm on the simulator in Innoventions is newer and much more advanced- so a better ride.

And yes- I spent plenty of time waiting for my family to finish riding all the good stuff when I was wimpy- MUCH more fun to join them!

OOPS!!! Looks like I missed some of my buddies!! Sorry about that girls!

More porn..you, my friend are responsible for the degredation of societ- er, my butt. Or more accurately the EXPANSION of my butt. Geesh. Those doughnuts at Kouzzina? O wow. Do you think I could sweet talk the person at the take out pizza window to get me an order of those bad boys? ;)

I dunno, but I would like to add that into our pub crawl around the lake on Sunday- if we can make it that far!! Those doughnuts were very original, IMHO. As was the Kouzzinarita, which is personally what I would like to go back for!

Glad your phone was OK! :thumbsup2 I pretty much knew it was but ..oh the suspense! :lmao: The topiaries are so gorgeous, can't wait to see them in person.

Totally forgot about Captain EO- we have never seen it (LOL) I can hear Brendan spouting off the MJ jokes now! :lmao:

Yea- Tyler was full of comments about MJ- not that I can repeat any of them here, but he had plaenty of opiniions when we were waiting for it, if ya know what I mean....He did like it though, in the end.

Jane, I like those skulls a lot! they're better than the ones in Cozumel anyway! :rotfl2:

I am going to print this comment out and show it to Mike so when he claims the skulls in Epcot are not "authentic", I'll have an unbiased opinion that they are, in fact, better!

:rotfl2::rotfl2:

Okay I can breath now that you got your phone back in working order :scared1:
What kind of case do you have on it?

As I was reading your post I was trying to figure out what to eat. I saw the soup and guess what I eat :rotfl:

No case-it's just THAT good of a phone!!:thumbsup2 Hope your soup was good!

Sorry I am so far behind. In fact, I started reading your posts several days ago and never commented because somebody needed something and I got interrupted.

I am so happy you got your phone back! :woohoo: I got an iphone about three weeks ago and the second night I had it I had the worst nightmare that I had LOST it in FLORIDA on a Disney trip! :rotfl: I woke up in a complete panic.

Those dessert donuts look and sound so tasty! YUM!

What a great trip so far!

I think you did post somewhere on here- didn't you??? :confused3 Yes- not so great losing a cell phone on vacation- very fortunate for me that I was making Tyler carry his- but we were actually FINE without a cell phone for a day- go figure...:rotfl:

You must be getting REALLY excited for your trip!! :dance3:

Lucky you!! What a great trip so far! I've been struggling with the SPF / TCI break the past few weeks! So happy you were able to bring your middle son as a surprise. I surprised Hannah on her birthday, but I haven't been able to surprise my son yet since he plays travel hockey.
When are you going in May? My husband & I are going down the 11th - 16th. Will you be there??
I have yet to try RNRC yet, haven't even been on space mountain! But I have been on BTMRR 5 times in a row thanks to Hannah & her GAC!

I will be there May 13th-17th with my girlfriends. :goodvibes Two from town (Joan and do you know Evie from the paint store?), Lonnie from Fla who was my MOH, Kara (karajeboo) and Laura (crsdismom) who I met on the DIS. :goodvibes Well, I actually haven't met Laura yet, this will be our first face to face hello. How has Hannah been this week? Sean has a horrible time with these breaks- the bus on Monday will be a welcome site. So where are you staying? We're at BWV. Next year they will have off at the same time for Spring Break- both Easter & Passover coincide. It will be the week after Easter (and the Friday before). :thumbsup2 Are you going to the TCI Dinner Dance? We are going, I just need to buy my tickets. It's really a fun night- we go every year (I was even the Chairperson one year).

So glad she finally went on! Has she done everything now?

Hmm....yea I guess so. :thumbsup2 She hasn't ridden ToT since she was 4 though. Go figure, she loved it then. ;)

Haunted? By who?

Remember the Haunted Castle fire back in the '80's? Well supposedly (I have never been to SFGA cause I am lame and have never been to Jersey;)) Kingda Ka was built on the same spot that the castle used to be, and I guess they have had problems with every attraction in that spot since. On KK's preview opening day right before riders were getting on (there were people in the line waiting) one of the springs broke and sent one of the ride vehicles flying through some glass which broke and showered down on the people in line. They had to shut it back down and reconfigure the queue. There was a really cool (if you like that sort of thing) documentary series on youtube about the Haunted Castle fire. ;)

You know a friend of mine is making Sarah a really cool Minnie Mouse cake for her birthday- for our trip in May... one of those fancy dancy boutique cakes. I need to figure out a good but reasonably cheap (if even free) place to go "have her cake" on Saturday afternoon/evening. Could be a restaurant, but doesn't have to be. Just a nice, fun atmosphere that isn't our hotel room:lmao:. Was thinking like...Poly Beach..or the Boardwalk maybe. Have to watch expenses cause we are not exactly holding back the next two days. Do you (or any of the gals!) have any ideas? :rolleyes1 (psst, I'd be happy to share, not sure if the GF would allow all of us to bring it in and join ya'll for tea:laughing:)

Cool, we'll be there at the same time. It's just Jared & I, we're going to the Destination D event. Should be fun. We are staying at Pop.
Hannah has been good on the break. We went into the city, shopping at Ikea. Nothing to exciting. They don't have school on Monday, they start again on Tuesday. We are thinking of going to the dinner dance, we only went once a long time ago. Sounds like fun!

Terri

I am so bummed I am going to miss you by one stinking day :sad2:

I KNOW!!! I am too!! :sad1:

I do remember the haunted mansion fire- but I thought it was in Long Branch, not Great Adventure. :confused3 Maybe there were two- I'll have to check out the video link-

I'll have to think about that cake- nothing is coming to mind...does she have a favorite spot? Where are you having dinner?

Oh all knowing expert !

Last fall I was in Epcot and purchased a wine passport. It has 6 wines from 3 countries. I only used 2 of the wines from one of the countries. I am headed back in 3 weeks. I have still 4 wines yet to try. I felt so bad not using them. I hope to use it. Would the passport still be valid? It doesn't have any information on an expiration date or use only in one visit kind of writting. Thoughts??

Hmm the cake? That is a tough one because I believe most of the park restuarants are picky about the cakes they serve. The beach might be a great place to have it or even DTD by the water near the sea racers.

I saw that the D23 event was that weekend- but didn't really look into it because I knew we already had so much other stuff planned. Which TCI dinner did you go to? I ran the one that was the wine dinner. Was it that one? Oh and thanks for reminding me he goes back to school on Tuesday and not Monday!!! DUH....I win Mom of the Year yet AGAIN!!!!

Enjoying your TR, only finished page 1 so far! I did a mom/son trip last year, along with my cousin and her daughter, it was fun! SSR is our home resort, we have stayed there past few trips, mainly because nothing else was available but we still enjoy it. Your pics are making me HOMEsick!

Back at SSR, we got off at the Springs and crossed the street to get a basketball from Horseing Around- they don't charge you anything for the ball, they just hold onto your room key. The boys took off, and I made a quick stop at the front desk for my package before joining them at the court.

IMG_1168.jpg

There were some families (dads and sons) shooting hoops, and my kids joined in.

I gave Pods a call at home to let him know how our day was going, then took some pics walking around. Sorry I didn't have my DSLR with me, or my tripod- these would have been much better if I had! Some were taken with my iphone.

Robin Hood was playing at the pool-

056.jpg

I went back to the room, and soon was joined by Tyler- Timmy was still playing. After I bit Tyler's head off for deserting his little brother, we went back to the court. Timmy was just about done, being that he was the last hoopster standing, so he returned the ball, and went to the arcade. Followed by Tyler using a weight in the gym to do his strengthening exercises for his elbow-

The biggest downside of a studio??? Only one TV...guess who wins that one....

IMG_1180.jpg

It's ok- I was enjoying a glass of wine, so it's not like I had NOTHING to do!!:rotfl: We had enjoyed a very full day, and it was time to rest up for more- in the morning, we were going to spend the day at MK, visit friends at the BLT pool, lose some lanyards once or twice...we really needed to rest up!! :rotfl:

Although I am having a REALLY tough time trying to wrap my head around having un-punched wine on the card....my best guess (and it is a guess, because I don't know if it would EVER be possible for me to have unpunched wine on the passport- darn kids of yours in Epcot!! :rotfl2:) would be that yes, they will honor it. Thanks for reminding me to buy a new one in 19 days!! Hope you had a happy Easter!
