I hate to be a debbie downer... but last year a bunch of people made ADR's or even booked trips based on "tentative" dates that turned out NOT to be MNSSHP and they were MAD.
I'd say wait for the official dates before doing anything!
Actually it had nothing to do with NoJ.The biggest issue was WHEN the first party was....People were basing the fact that in 2009 the first MNSSHP was on Sept 4th.Instead when the Official party dates came out for 2010, they started the party 10 days LATER than the year before.( Sept 14th).Lots of people booked adrs, airfare and trips based on the previous years parties starting as early as they did, and were very upset when it turned out NOT to happen the same way in 2010.
Its hard not to base SOME of your trip around tentative dates since, in order to get the dining your want, you pretty much are FORCED to book your ADRs at 180 days...IMO.
Absolutely - if you want to take advantage of Disney's discounts, grab the ADRs for the "hard to get" places, and even book airfare before the cost of fuel prices us ALL out of a vacation, you have to start very early. So, you work with what you have available to you, say a prayer, and leap!
I have to say, I'm not building my entire trip around the party. Do I want to go? Yes. Will I be a little bummed if it turns out that the tentative dates are off and my chosen date is NOT the date of a party? Sure. Will I rebook an ENTIRE 9 Day trip, changing airfare, resort reservations and ADRs to accomodate MNSSHP? Not a chance.
I totally agree with you Jiminy!!! I'm hoping and praying for a party on September 13th, but it is what it is.......I'm going to Disney, so it really doesn't matter!!!!
