Anyone know where I can find tentative dates?! I just read a post that 10/4 might not be on there!!!! UGH! HELP!!!

Thanks for at least the tentative dates......let's hope they mostly stay true! ;)

I hate to be a debbie downer... but last year a bunch of people made ADR's or even booked trips based on "tentative" dates that turned out NOT to be MNSSHP and they were MAD.

I'd say wait for the official dates before doing anything!

No worries Ms. "Downer"! :lmao:

I'm not basing any decisions on these yet - Just keepin' the hope alive! :littleangel:

Weren't those the Night of Joy nights in early September that some people thought were going to be MNSSHP.

Those were the only one's I remember some people getting annoyed about.

Yes... they turned out to be nights of joy. People assumed they would be MNSSHP because they closed at 7 and had no fireworks.

Just saying the dates are not set in stone until Disney starts selling the tickets.

Actually it had nothing to do with NoJ.The biggest issue was WHEN the first party was....People were basing the fact that in 2009 the first MNSSHP was on Sept 4th.Instead when the Official party dates came out for 2010, they started the party 10 days LATER than the year before.( Sept 14th).Lots of people booked adrs, airfare and trips based on the previous years parties starting as early as they did, and were very upset when it turned out NOT to happen the same way in 2010.

And the park was listed to close that one night at 7:00 so everyone assumed it was MNSSHP but in fact turned out the park was closing for a private event.

Its hard not to base SOME of your trip around tentative dates since, in order to get the dining your want, you pretty much are FORCED to book your ADRs at 180 days...IMO.

Yes we were one of the families that planned our 2010 trip based on 2009 party dates. We got burned planning too early. Our whole reason for going was the party so we had to rebook our trip. It all worked out in the end but I learned my lesson!

The PPs are correct, the party started earlier in 2009 and then there was also an early park closing that we assumed meant the party was starting earlier again in 2010 but it was a private function.

Absolutely - if you want to take advantage of Disney's discounts, grab the ADRs for the "hard to get" places, and even book airfare before the cost of fuel prices us ALL out of a vacation, you have to start very early. So, you work with what you have available to you, say a prayer, and leap!

I have to say, I'm not building my entire trip around the party. Do I want to go? Yes. Will I be a little bummed if it turns out that the tentative dates are off and my chosen date is NOT the date of a party? Sure. Will I rebook an ENTIRE 9 Day trip, changing airfare, resort reservations and ADRs to accomodate MNSSHP? Not a chance.

I totally agree with you Jiminy!!! I'm hoping and praying for a party on September 13th, but it is what it is.......I'm going to Disney, so it really doesn't matter!!!!

Amen, Victoriasmom!

(Too funny - looks like we live less than 20 miles away from each other, and we're traveling to Disney only a week apart! Must be something in the water up here....:rotfl:)

The Disney travel agent site that I use to book client vacations has nothing on MNSSHP as of yet. They really don't begin putting the dates out until closer to the month of May.

You are right. They turned out to be other events scheduled in the MK those nights.

Question though: Is MNSSHP scheduled over year for Halloween? I can't imagine them not having a Halloween party on Halloween itself. Obviously, I'm a huge Halloween freak, and all I want to do is ride the Haunted Mansion and see the Headless Horseman run down Main Street. Praying they have a party on Halloween for our Honeymoon next year. Besides marrying the love of my life, this was would make my trip!
