Going back to WDW for Liam's 9th Birthday! 5/29-6/3 WE ARE BACK!!!

Sorry that this is not Disney related, but I had a bit of scary news today. Rylan, the baby, had a doctors appointment today for development. While he appears very healthy, he is about two months behind his adjusted age. Which makes him 5 months behind his true age. The doctor wants to start him on therapys: occupational, developmental, vision, and behavioral. They are also worried that he isn't making eye contact. He follows toys and looks at faces but not eyes for the most part. Because of all of this they are concerned that something else is going on. So I also have to schedule an appointment with the eye doctor and a nurologist.

It is very scary to be dealing with this. I knew that when Rylan was born premature that he would have to deal with alot, but I thought it would be smoother sailing now that he is home (and has been home for 9 months) But no, the rollercoaster has yet to end.:headache:

At this point I don't know what to think. I will of course do what I need to do for my son. As for the rest, I am hoping for the best and anticipating the worst. I know if there is something wrong I will find a way to deal with it as I have done before, I just don't see how right now.:confused3

I also am feeling a little mad at myself. When we were at GKTW two years ago I definatly wanted to go back and visit the magic, but that didn't mean I wanted another Wish trip. I am praying that nothing turns up and the therepy helps. :sad1:

Sorry for this premption, Now back to our regular scheduled show!

So sorry to hear about this. It breaks my heart that you are dealing with so much.
I hope it turns out okay and you and Liam have a magical trip and you can lessen your worry a little.

Loving all your pics. I, especially, love the pics with your DD and Belle. :thumbsup2

Thank you very much. I really appriciate the hug right now. I am hopping that this is just another road block given to me because God knows I can handle it. All I could do is put my trust in his hands and follow doctors advice. :littleangel:

The pics with Belle are my favorite. We happen to see here with no line as we were walking back from Morracco. She spent alot of one on one time with my DD while my DS hid on my shirt tails.:cloud9:

I'll be keeping you in my prayers, we had Ben tested at age one so I know all too well what you are going through.

Loving your mini TR, Emily has the same Belle dress as your DD! The pictures of your DD with Belle are the best:)

Thanks Becc1, It really helps to know that there are others out there who have gone through this and got through it. Can I ask you how it went for Ben? Hope you all are doing good.

It is great that your DD has the same dress. I saw it at the Disney Outlet (I am there way to much) and could not resist. Plus it was on sale. What can I say, it was calling my name.:lmao:

Update.
I have scheduled and eye appointment for monday and Nerologist appointment for the 29th. I'll update again when I know more. Thank you everone for the good thoughts and prayers.:hug::hug:

 Keeping your family in my prayers!!

So sorry Rylan is having some problems.
I will say Avy is where she is today because of all the therapist we have had since day one. :cloud9:
You can call the school district and have them do a eval. It take a while so calling now would be smarter then waiting till this summer when they are out.
Pm me if I can help answer any questions.

Your plans are looking great

Corrine,

After answering Pm questions I finally made it to your trip report! I am sad to say that we had to cancel our trip that was scheduled for the end of May. I did everything I could to save it, but by the time that May airfare was released, it went from $180 RT to $450 RT and we could not make it work. We have stayed at both Pop Century and Sports. Our family actually prefers Sports due to its smaller size and it is first on and off of the buses. However, while it POP try the Mediterranian Flat bread pizza in the food court. It is amazing!

Also, with Star Wars weekends, make sure that you go to get a Fast Pass for fighting Darth Vader as soon as you enter the park. I have been told that they are gone for the day within the first half hour. They no longer pick kids from the crowd.

I love your plans so far and I am now on board to answer any questions. I know that Maroo is just back from Disney with Lauren and she might be able to answer more of the wheelchair questions as Disney has been making changes with how they enter the lines. I am assuming that his stroller / wheelchair will have a stroller as a wheelchair tag from guest assistance.

I am so glad you found my PTR, and am a little bummed that you will not be making it to WDW this May.:sad2:

Thanks for your great advice. I have heard that the selection for the Jedi Training was done diffrent, but thanks for thinking of us.

This years MK plans

I love all of the family pictures you have posted. The kids' Magic Kingdom outfits were absolutely adorable :) Your plans for Liam's trip are coming along great. Are you planning to stay in the parks all day? Or will you take breaks back at the resort? I'm still debating this for our trip. Looking forward to seeing more of your plans :goodvibes Hope all goes well with your son's tests. My prayers are with your family.

The plan is to stay in the parks all day. But as all of us know even the best laid plans can fall astray. So while we are planning out our basic days, I am aware that things can change and will change accordingly. As long as we both have fun, that is all we can hope for.

Thanks for the prayers.

Good news!:lovestruc

Rylan's eyes are completly normal. No need for glasses or anything. One more test to go, but I am sure the answers will not be as quick.:guilty: We see the nurologist next tuesday.
