Planning Our Happily Ever After - A Disneymoon PTR! (NEW 7/13 - TR Link!)

My fiance is Filipino and they also have the cord and the coin tradition (as well as the veil). Come to think of it, it might come from their Hispanic background, as the Philippines were invaded by Spain a long time ago. We won't be doing any of those though, as it's both our second wedding and Ron wants something more simple.

Like you though we will be having a bilingual ceremony as my family speaks French and hsi speaks English.

I remember reading that Filipinos had the lazo and arras as well. I'm not sure I know about the veil, though. It's been interesting learning about all of these different traditions.

How neat you're having a bilingual ceremony as well. Mine will be the first time I've been to one so I hope it turns out well! Since most of our guests are from my side, the majority of the service will be in English with just a few Spanish parts mixed in.

I love all of the touches you're including in your wedding-- it sounds like it'll be a really personal, cultural ceremony. The guest book is gorgeous-- when I saw it, I totally thought of your beautiful Christmas tree and beautifully wrapped presents! It'll be a lovely piece in your home!

Thank you! I'm really excited about how its shaping up. I really hope my guests appreciate the blending of the cultures. :cloud9:

The guest book will definitely match my home decor! I didn't even think about that. I will have to find a good place to display it. :goodvibes

I read in another Disneymoon TR, the bride had taken a few momentos of her wedding (the necklace she wore was one of them) and put them inside a covered glass cake plate they had received as a wedding gift, and used that as a display case of sorts. It looked so pretty and elegant...and it is such a unique way to display something sentimental that wouldn't typically be part of decor!

I love the guest book and card box, by the way! I am with you in always wanting to DIY something, thinking I can save so much money and really make it my own by creating it myself...and then I quickly realize I will spend more in materials and likely not achieve my desired effect. I call myself "craft deficient"

I love ALL of your plans, everything looks so beautiful! What a wonderful way to start your lives together as husband and wife, with the intertwining of your families and your love!!!

Love the wedding updates- keep them coming!
I learned through my wedding planning that DIY almost always costs more money and time than you originally think it will.
That card box is awesome- just beautiful!

I know a lot of negative posts come from people who eat at Narcossee's, but maybe you will have a great experience! Just keep positive about it!!!

your bathing suit looks adorable! and yay for finding Miguel nice ones too! Target has some nice clothes :)

Your wedding update is great!!! I love the idea of using a chuppa (jewish or not) because the symbolism is awesome! I love the idea of incorporating Miguel's heritage into the ceremony :) makes the wedding that much more special for you both!!! :)

Back from WDW catching up:

DH and I ate at Narcoossees on our Disneymoon and we enjoyed it. I had the chicken and DH had the filet. We both loved them! We aren't seafood people so unfortunately I cannot comment on that. Oh and make sure that you have that you are celebrating your honeymoon on your reservation! ;)

Love the chuppa & card box! I would have loved that card box myself. We ended up borrowing one from DH's sister because I didn't want to buy one to use just once. I was doing too much of that :rotfl:

That is such a good idea - I love that! Thank you so much for the tip! :goodvibes

I really want to DIY something, too, because it seems like so much fun, but it's also so time consuming (and time is a valuable commodity for me right now). :lmao: Plus, I wouldn't really call myself crafty. I can come up with some pretty good ideas, but I'm never really sure how to execute them. :confused3

Thank you so much! You always say the sweetest things! :goodvibes

Thanks! I agree - once you factor in all of the materials (especially if you don't have any crafting basics) and the time, just buying the things is so much more appealing.

I'm really excited about all of these cultural aspects (borrowed or not ;)). I think it will make the wedding unique, which is exactly what I want.

I'm so glad to hear another positive Narcoosse's experience! It does seem ridiculous to spend so much money on things that you're only going to use for one night, but hopefully I can find some way to get some use out of some of these things (either that or sell them!)

I know i'm a bit late but love the PTR report sooo far.
Hmm. Water parks. If you can only choose one i'd go w/ Typhoon lagoon. i haven't been there since 1997 but remember i had a lot of fun... but i guess blizzard beach fans would say different...

Hey! Thanks so much for joining in! :goodvibes

I'm really excited about TL. It looks relaxing and adventurous at the same time. :thumbsup2

GF SPA BOOKED!

I was able to cross one thing off of my disneymoon to-do list tonight by booking our treatments at the GF spa! On Sunday the 26th, we'll head over to the GF around 11:00 for the 50 minute Grand Romantic Couples Massage. :cloud9:

I'm sure the massage and the relaxation will be very welcomed after a week of the parks! We should be well-relaxed for our evening at DHS that night. I can't wait! This will be Miguel's first (professional) massage, and I think he's going to love it. :goodvibes

Now if I could just get our pool cabana booked, I'll have all the bookings crossed off my list. I've tried three times now and each time there's a glitch in the system that prevents the reservation from going through. :headache: I'm actually on hold with Disney recreation as I type this, so hopefully I'll have better results this time!

Oooh, a Grand Romantic Coupls Massage! I am SO jealous. I'm sure it will be awesome. My guess is Miguel will get hooked on massages after. :rolleyes1

I am so excited about this - I wish I was going tomorrow! :lmao: I always think while I'm there how I could use a massage because I'm always so achey from the walking. I bet Miguel is going to be hooked, too!

Hi Courtney, glad you got the spa booked! :goodvibes we have the same thing planned, but a few days after you two ... I've had facials and salt scrubs at spas before, but never a massage.. really looking forward to it! :cloud9:

That looked like a great Valentine's Day! The table you set looked like a picture from a magazine!

YAY for to GF spa! I have never had a massage in my entire life! Can you believe that?!

POOL CABANA BOOKED...FINALLY!

I was finally able to get the cabana booked at the Poly! I literally did not believe the CM when she said she was ready to give me to confirmation number. I asked her if she was sure it really went though! :lmao: I'm so glad it did - I was beginning to worry that we weren't going to be able to reserve it ahead of time and we would have to hope for the best to book the week we are there.

Thankfully though, we are all set for a day of relaxing by the pool on Monday the 27! The cabana is offered as either a 4 or 9 hour rental. I originally thought we could just to the 4 hour, but then I figured why not just go with the full day? That will force me to plan a full day of nothing but relaxing!

Here's what's included in the cabana rental:
(All info and pictures courtesy of tikiman)

. Two padded chaise lounge chairs and love seat
. 4 chairs with two foot rests
. Plush towels
. 22 inch LCD television with cable access and optional earphones
. DVD/CD/MP3 player
. Phone for internal resorts calls
. Oscillating Fan
. Mini refrigerator stocked with complementary sodas and water
. Complementary fruit basket
. Private dining and poolside massages are available for an additional cost

And here's what the cabanas look like:
