A Disney Dream Come True - Nov/Dec TR ~ Oct10 Another TR :)

That is awesome. I was wondering what they would write, either Stormtrooper, or maybe THX-1138 since most of them just had a number letter combo to identify them, and THX-1138 would pay hiomage to George Lucas' early works that tends to work it's way into each of the movies. I am a huge Star Wars fan, I gotta get down there for a Star Wars weekend sometime.

Very cool, I didn't know that about the number-letter combo -- or if I did, I forgot it. I'm so jealous of that Darth Vadar PP pic you have... I didn't even know you could do that - a must do for us next time.

Awww.....what a nice surprise from Alex!:goodvibes I didn't know they sold those....how cute!!! I  that movie!! I could watch it again and again!:)

I love it and love even more how he surprised me with it. He actually paid attention that I'd admired it! I'd been wearing it for a while but now have it safe in my room. I'm afraid of losing it. :worried:

What a great update!! I so need to see the Osbourne Lights in person!! They look so lovely in pictures!!!

So glad your DHS day was 100x better that's always good news!!!!! YAY for much fun being had!!

YAY for a great DIS meet! Seeing Wishes at the Poly is one thing I haven't done yet, I'm going to have to do that!! I have a list of all the ways to watch Wishes and that's one I haven't crossed off yet!!

You absolutely have to see them in person, I was so sad when the park was closing and we had to leave.

We ended up watching Wishes from the Poly for a second time, and for that time we were shivering so badly -- wouldn't exactly recommend those circumstances. :rotfl:

I mispoke, the number 1138 is in each of the Star Wars movies, but was right abot the stormtroop number-letter thing.

•Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace: 1138 can be seen on the back the droid Jar-Jar hits over the head after they are deactivated on Naboo because of the destruction of the droid control ship.

•Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones: When Mace Windu orders a clone pilot to land in an assembly area, 1138 can be seen on the back of the pilot's helmet in LED lights.

•Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith: CC-1138 is the numerical designation for Commander Bacara, commander of the Galactic Marines under General Ki-Adi-Mundi. An easter egg involving the number and a clip of Yoda breakdancing is also present on the DVD version.

•Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope: 1138 is the number of the cell block on the Death Star that Luke Skywalker claims to be transferring Chewbacca from. Additionally, the Imperial Stormtrooper suit Luke Skywalker stole in the Death Star belongs to a Stormtrooper with the registration TK-421, but this was scripted and appears in the novelization as THX 1138.

•Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back: In an approximation of the 1138 meme, General Rieekan issues the following order: "Send Rogues 10 and 11 to Station 3-8".

•Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi: The number 1138 is inscribed on the side of Boushh's helmet.

There is a reference in the Star Tours queue for THX-1138.
When a guest is waiting in this Disney attraction's spaceport, various announcements can be heard over a PA system in between R2-D2 and C-3PO's conversations—one says: "will the owners of a red-and-black landspeeder, vehicle ID THX-1138, please return to your craft. You are parked in a no-hover area."

THX is the name of the sound system developed by Lucas, and you see it during the sound thing in a lot of movies.

I love it when they do stuff like that and all the nerds ;) can find them. Just like the Pizza Planet truck and the Pixar A113 showing up everywhere. I hope more of those kind of things are included in the new Star Tours.

Yoda breakdancing?? :yoda:

I love the grape soda pin! I'd never seen that anywhere either... now I'll have to see if they still sell it.

I was a bit behind...but I'm SO GLAD to read that your DHS day was a much, much improved day over the previous...whew! And what a wonderful way to end it, Dole Whips, a DIS Meet, EWP and Wishes, it doesn't get much better than that! :cloud9:

I'm with Ariana. I don't car for LMA either. Claire found it kind of boring as well.

I lovethe lights.....I MUST see the msoneday.
I have not had a Dole whip yet either. If I remember right, I think someone mentioned they have orange ones as well? I might go for one of those this trip. I like pineapple, but not sure if the dolewhip would be my cup of tea.

I like pineapple but I was worried about not liking it too but the float was sooooo very good!!!! I really would love one right now!!!!!!

I felt bad it was in my room -- now I've given it the spotlight it deserves on my pin bulletin board. :thumbsup2

Yes! A fantastic day for sure and it set the tone for the rest of the trip. Now if only there hadn't been such teenage drama for a few of these next upcoming days.... :rolleyes1

I go back and forth about LMA. I'm perfectly fine skipping it altogether but then when I see how much Demetri loves it I can't help but smile. From here on in though, I think George and the boys can so see it when Ariana and I do something else. :thumbsup2

There's a citrus swirl orange dole whip you can get from Aloha Isle... I'd like to try that too, but I think there was only the soft serve pineapple from Captain Cooks. It was not overpowering pineapple at all.... creamy smooth and subtle.

I like pineapple but I was worried about not liking it too but the float was sooooo very good!!!! I really would love one right now!!!!!!

If I got a float again, I'd share it with someone. It was downright yummy but I found it a little too much pineapple all at once and would have been content with half of it. I'd LOVE the soft serve right now which is completely nuts on this "feels like" -30 C (-22 F for the US readers) frigid day!!! :cold::cold::cold:

Great update, loving all the Osbourne Lights pics :thumbsup2

How cute that Alex got you the grape soda pin, I love the story behind it from Up :goodvibes

He was too cute, he just kinda approached me quickly and said, "oh hey, look at this!" and gauged my reaction to it. I loved it of course and I think I was talking to Margaret when he'd shown me so when he stepped away that must have been when he bought it. :lovestruc

I'm totally going to have to get caught up again tonite on your TR and de-lurk. It's been far too long!

I realized tonite I haven't been posting my Photopass pictures, whoops! So to catch up before my next update......

Hmmmm, not as many at DHS eh? We had others I guess but these were the better ones.

Our AK day is coming up next!

Wow! What an awesome DHS day! You really packed a lot in there... so glad you were able to meet up with Margaret!
(Hi, Margaret! :wave2:) DISmeets are the best!

So many DISers have raved about the view of Wishes from the Poly beach... I'd love to try that sometime!

The Osbourne lights ~ so magical! So Christmasy!

(Is that a word? Who cares!)

DIS meets are the best! It was a great night capping off a great day. :thumbsup2

Christmasy is the perfect description! :santa::laughing:

Great PP pictures! How cute that Lotso kissed Airana's hand...he really has turned away from his old mean ways, hasn't he? ;)

And teenage drama? Uh-oh...

Cute PP pics! But, I must say, you take awesome pics on your camera! I thought the ones you posted during your report were the PP ones because they were so good! I wish mine came out like that..

Anyway, can't wait for your AK day. I should be coming up shortly!

I'm so glad your second HS day was a great one - you must have been worried that the whole trip was going to be rotten after the first HS day. :goodvibes

Demetri looks adorable in the PP pictures, and seeing Babies Simba and Kiara side by side I can see why you felt the need to buy Kiara...the question is has Kiara replaced Simba or are they now both carried everywhere? With my girls there would be no replacing going on :rolleyes1

Very cool that you met a Stormtrooper, my DH would love that!

An evening relaxing on the beach sounds like a wonderful end to a wonderful day :cloud9:

That was a cute thing for him to do. He's so cute and huggable for such a big pink meanie. The teenage drama wasn't this upcoming day, but kicked in shortly after.....

Great PP pics, esp the Lotso ones :thumbsup2

I was really hoping we'd get a character blitz while in the Animation building but I'm really glad we met Lotso. Too bad the Sorcerer Mickey line was just too long. Maybe next time!

Aw shucks, thanks! Thank heavens for digital cameras where you can try, try and try again to get the shots you want.

You're coming up now!! :thumbsup2

I was totally worried the trip was going to be a write off and I think that was half of why I was so upset. Thank heavens it turned around so quickly.

I was a bit worried getting Baby Kiara for that exact reason. The opposite seems to have happened though. Before, Baby Simba went everywhere with Ariana and she'd be extremely upset if he was left at home or she couldn't find him at bedtime. Now, Baby Simba has found a permanent place in her room and though Baby Kiara temporarily replaced Baby Simba and went everywhere.... she doesn't take her to school anymore and just cuddles her at bedtime. :cloud9:

The relaxed evening was perfect!

**Shameless plug alert!! One day recently, George was trying to figure out which weeks of vacation he should request from work. I was being smart and said with a smirk I'd love to take the last week of September off and go to Disney with my friend Natalie.

He smirked in reply to me and said, "Nice try - no, no, no, you just came back!" I laughed in reply but then he said, "Well.... unless you take the kids with you."

Say wha??? Well, I'd meant taking the kids with me.......

I paused and then told him if he was serious, I was going to get on the computer right there and then and book it. He laughed and the cleaned up version of what he said ;) was to go ahead.

So go ahead I did! :yay:
