Basking in the Glow of the (not so) Creepy Clown -2/11-Pictures, Final Thoughts, PTR!

Life update: I have a job interview on Wednesday....I didn't actually apply for this job but a friend passed on my resume and they called today. It's for a position I would really enjoy, do well in, and be challenged in. All what I like in a job!

I'm not at all nervous at this point about it, but very excited. I'll keep you posted on how it all goes!

I am going to try to get a trip update done tonight or tomorrow. :goodvibes

Prayers and pixie dust for the interview!pixiedust:

I have these earrings and the ones just like them in the brass color. The silver are my favorites!
It's funny when my friends realize they are Mickey Heads. Would you believe they roll their eyes?

The picture of Henry and Lotso Huggin is terribly cute!!!

Good luck Brook on the job interview, try to relax and you will shine!!!:goodvibes

They roll their eyes?!?! :scared1: How dare they?!?! This is MICKEY!;) If they only went on one trip with you, they'd "get it". ::yes::

I am really looking forward to what kind of queue they will put into Star Tours too. I'm sure it will be interactive somehow! They are really creating some amazing queues lately!

And yep, I did see that announcement....several months ago on wdwmagic! And it was GREAT to see it publicly announced on the Disney Parks Blog! Seeing the actual art for it was exciting - MUCH better than I imagined via the rumors. I've become a huge lurker over there, almost daily before I fall asleep I read a few threads/check out anything new. Some of the people are a bit intense - and so many people just expecting complete failure from Disney before anything even happens! But I breeze past those and just get the info. I love it! Thanks for sharing that site with me!

I am quite excited that I will get to go on the new Star Tours in October!! :thumbsup2 And I will get a wonderful chance to compare it with the still running old version (in French) at DLP! ;)

I absolutely agree with your sentiment on wdwmagic! There are some really knowledgeable people there which have interesting things to say and just as you I skipped over those who complain about every change. I am often amuse about how tiny subjects can create the longest threads - like the question of lap bars being added to Splash Mountain... However the Project Z one is very intriguing and I think I need to see Tron now! It is only going to start in cinemas this week here in Germany.

We LOVED the Epcot area! It's a beautiful area. Bus service too was pretty much a non-issue, sure they had to make more stops, but it was quick.

I understand that it is only AK and DTD which really have very many stops? Do you remember the order in which the bus stops at the resorts?

And I nearly forgot the most important thing: I wish you lots of good luck for your job interview tomorrow!!

When we left off Joe, Henry and I were on a very loooooong journey to DTD. Of course we eventually arrived!

We didn't have much of an agenda...

1) Eat
2) Shop, the only thing on my "Must Have" list was packing a box of Mr. Potato Head pieces, and I was on a "I need Mickey earrings" kick from gazing at several very cute pairs back at DHS.

As we entered into the Marketplace area we immediately got sidetracked by the fountain.

1016667370_sNK8j-L.jpg

Henry didn't play in it, but really enjoyed watching it and laughing at how the water randomly would pop up!

We slowly continued onward

1016739396_DE59f-L.jpg

I LOVE THIS PICTURE!!!! :rotfl: (and note - he's still holding a bus!)

I was thinking about doing the "Where in the World is this letter?" alphabet game, but I failed miserably in taking pictures...I did snag this one (and maybe one or two others)

1017024729_EzLZi-L.jpg

Pretty easy one!

1016827729_zhUQq-L.jpg

After we passed Earl of Sandwich, we realized that is exactly what we wanted for dinner! YUM!

As always the line was a bit long and seating was limited, but we were able to snag a table after a few minutes of being in there, and the line went quickly.

Henry's grilled cheese

1017006431_ZocX5-L.jpg

And his fruit cup

1016911323_yEAX4-L.jpg

Joe's - The Original. His comment, "I could eat this every single day." Ya think he liked it????

1017013817_wUbC6-L.jpg

Joe's potato salad - about 3 bites were taken, he thinks it might have gone bad.

1016940216_Fg4JJ-L.jpg

Mine - the Hawaiian BBQ. Very, very good!!

During the meal Henry was recalling the Monsters Inc movie, he really likes Roz and her "pointy head" (her hair).

1016847200_MSFtE-L.jpg

After our yummy meal we continued on for the second item on the agenda -- shopping!

A dip into Tren-D, I had missed this on previous trips since it opened.

1016596697_WTv73-L.jpg

Henry was so confused why Mickey was covered in paint!

1016732235_CcBBT-L.jpg

A cute shop with oodles of fun stuff; however, many of their things aren't unique to it anymore-they are things found through the Parks. And the price tags were a tad on the hefty side for my budget this trip! We left empty-handed, but I really enjoyed walking around in there and looking at it all.

Onto the next shop, The World of Disney.

Henry quickly found the train and monorails!

1016802162_g23GY-L.jpg

And naturally, he wanted them both. We were able to tell him "No, not today." without a meltdown or too much fussing or begging.

Joe and I took turns walking around the store and watching Henry.

1016664283_UFn6S-L.jpg

Love this!

And within about 15 or 20 minutes Joe and Henry headed out of the store and over to the Lego shop. I continued to browse, I was on that quest to find Mickey earrings and that kind of decision takes time! ;)

Continued in next post

Continued from previous post

I eventually found a pair, and a couple of the basic "Walt Disney World" t-shirts for Henry and Joe. The CM who checked me out was a very kind older gentleman from Minnesota (that is what got us talking)! We chatted for a bit and I told him my Mom was planning on moving to Florida when she retired (now she's aiming for an early retirement and to be in FL in about a year and a half due to her new man who already lives there), he gave me some nice advice to pass onto her, including some great towns and he encouraged that she try to apply at Disney! He LOVED his job, he just worked a couple days a week so he wasn't bored at home during his retirement. His wife still worked full-time as a Disney travel agent, and she too loved her work. He raved about how great it was to work for Disney.

You can bet I passed on THAT info!

More than once! :rolleyes1

After all was purchased and notes taken on the advice the CM gave me, I headed on over to where the boys were happily racing Lego cars down a ramp.

1016984389_KBcA6-L.jpg

This will be in a temporary location when we are there next month, the new store is supposed to be around TWICE this size!

1016983848_gXFs5-L.jpg

Little man and his Daddy had constructed a pretty fine race car. They have a similar set-up at the Mall of America in Lego Land, so Henry knew just what to do when they saw this area and he was having a BLAST!

I made Joe take a picture of my new earrings
1016908995_UXg5e-M.jpg

Not the best shot of them, but they are just basic silver Mickey heads. I think I might "need" another pair this trip....

I watched the boys play and build for a while, but I gotta admit--Legos don't hold my interest for all that long. :rolleyes1 I spoke to Joe and he was totally cool with me heading off on my own over to Once Upon A Toy.

I had one mission in mind.

20 minutes later and 1 phone call to bring Joe and Henry to the store we ended up with:

1016834721_EY7dL-L.jpg

26 pieces! :woohoo:

1122930569_3WVEE-M.jpg

1 piece, the pirate eyes, are missing from this pic

I really enjoyed stuffing the box, it was a fun challenge! I plan to stuff another box on this coming trip, I want some girl pieces so Henry and I can play Mr. & Mrs. together instead of having to take turns with the one potato we have.

As we walked out into the night we heard a beeping noise - the Tonka trucks on the Once Upon a Toy sign were dumping! I had never seen them move before, it was really cool and Henry was in awe!

1016915137_iGkpP-L.jpg

On our way back to the bus stop we had one more stop to make...Goofy's!!

1016940770_fmw7J-L.jpg

Henry found a Nemo cookie.

I purchased 2 boxes of Mickey Coconut Head Patties - 1 for our family and 1 for two special DISer friends, Magdalene and Katharina. And Joe, for some CRAZY reason didn't want anything! :confused3

We made our way out of DTD and a bus was waiting for us! Score! Love it when that happens!

Back at the Boardwalk
1017030195_Sn68Y-M.jpg

Soooo pretty.

1016728476_yTw8x-M.jpg

Drool.

1016660569_zjvR2-M.jpg

The boys' shirts. Joe wears his regularly! It's the first Disney shirt he has ever worn regularly outside of Disney World. He loves the mouse, but generally doesn't advertise that he does.

After settling in the room a bit and unpacking the Mr. Potato Head parts (video: Dumping the Tater Pieces, 32 seconds) we put Henry down for bed, but that boy was WIRED!

1016980269_YNrvP-M.jpg

1016962935_2TJKS-M.jpg

Could it possibly have been the giant Nemo sugar cookie coated in 2 inches of frosting??? :scratchin

:rotfl:

At some point we all called it a night and closed our eyes, Disney dreams surely dancing in our heads!

I got them in the multi-color last year and yes, yes I would believe that people roll their eyes... Some people just don't get it. :goodvibes

Keeping fingers crossed for you on the job, Brook.

Hope that the job interview goes well tomorrow.

:wizard: Good luck!!!

Thanks ladies!!! :goodvibes

Ahhhhh! The lap bars thread is HILARIOUS! I mean really?!?! People are in an uproar about safety????? I haven't really read much into it-but, from what I gather there is a concern about load time? You'd think that due to these restraints everything might actually move faster because there won't be a chance of people getting out of their logs like in the past! Therefore the ride won't shut down every 10 minutes.

The Project Z one is one I'm a tad addicted to. :rolleyes1 I was excited to see Lee confirm Tron! :hyper: Joe is going to go see it in IMAX 3D tonight! I told him WDW was supposedly getting the Tron ride at some point and he kinda sulked that he hadn't seen it yet-so I told him, GO! He's really excited to go see it. I'll let you know what he thinks of it. Are you guys getting the 3D and IMAX 3D?

The order for the buses was a bit different each time depending on where you were going. I did write down a few times where we stopped first/second, etc. I can look back in my notes for ya, and I'll take better notes this coming trip and let you know-I'll write down times too from when we board the bus, to when we depart the last resort, to when we arrive at the park. :thumbsup2 It's for AK, DTD and MK. It really was not too much longer at all, even when the BW was the first stop. It never bothered Joe or I, we both thought service was very good.

Thank you for the well wishes on the interview!
