Greetings and Welcome to my third Trip Report!

I'll introduce the traveling party shortly, but first let's begin by getting a little bit of housekeeping out of the way. You can find my first trip report - 2 kids, 2 dogs, 1200 miles: 2 weeks and 2 birthdays in Florida - right here. In it, I tell the tail (yes, we had dogs along, so the pun is most definitely intended) of our first time driving from Wisconsin to Florida. We celebrated my daughter's 5th and my son's 2nd birthday at Walt Disney World in October of 2009.
You can find my second trip report - Cheese Ball Yak Attack: 2 kids, 2 dogs, 1200 miles - The Sequel - by clicking here. It's the sequel to my first trip report, since both adults, both kids and both dogs loaded up and drove to Disney World in March of 2010. What is a Cheese Ball Yak Attack? I don't usually do this, but I'll let you cheat and jump to this post and find out yourself. But don't say I didn't warn you.

Which brings us to this trip. In my second Trip Report, I mentioned that we were already planning this December Trip when we went on that one. I teased this Trip Report as being the third installment of a trilogy. Turns out I lied. This trip was so special and unique that it had to stand on its own.

The title of the TR comes from two facts.
One: My family is fortunate that we've been able to come to Walt Disney World almost every year since our daughter was born. We're seasoned veterans down here. We're DVC members and my wife's parents live 45 minutes away from WDW. We know what attractions to see and what to avoid.
Two: We were not alone on this trip. We have two traveling companions that have never been to Disney World before. (Again, I'll get to introductions in a minute.) They have never seen any of the sights, never experienced any of the attractions, never taken in any of the shows that we've begun to take for granted. Being there with them as they did it all for the first time really did make Everything Old, New Again.

So, with our title firmly establish, let's get to traveling party, shall we? Sticking to the theme of the report, introductory pictures will be from everyone's first Disney visit.

I'll start with your humble navigator, narrator, script writer, editor, director and tour guide - me. My name is Barry, and my first trip to Walt Disney World was in 1986 as a youngster with my parents and brother. That's me on the Skyway over Tomorrowland.

I went through all of the pictures I have on my computer from that trip, and didn't find one with my face. Thanks, mom and dad. I think I have some at home, and I'll put it in another post later if I can find one.

Up next is my beautiful, caring, and very, very patient wife, Bambi. Her parents took her and her brother to Disneyland in 1985.

Her first trip to Walt Disney World didn't happen until several years after we were married. That trip was in January of 2004.

We both fell in love with the place, and even had our next trip booked for that December. Well, that October, we got a call that a baby was given up a our local hospital. As foster parents, we were called and we brought home little Madison when she was 3 days old. We cleared it with everyone we needed to clear it with, and when she was 7 weeks old, Madison made her first trip to Walt Disney World. Here she is at Ohana's:

She also proved to be a big hit with the characters. Here she is getting some attention from Pooh, Piglet and Eeyore:
Epcot%20016.jpg

We adopted Madison that summer, and had plans to celebrate her 2nd birthday at Walt Disney World, but soon found out Bambi was pregnant. And due just days after Madison's birthday. Sure enough, the day after Madison turned 2, Evan was born. We just shifted everything back a year and celebrated Madison's 3rd and Evan's 1st birthday on his first trip in October of 2007. He did a lot of this on that trip:

He was awake for some of it, as seen here:

Well, we're all grown up now. Sort of.

Bambi's parents were there too. Their first trip to Disney World was back when it opened in 1971. If I come across a picture, I'll post it. But for now, here's Grandma & Grandpa with the grandkids and the #2 mouse:

Finally, we have the two Disney World Newbies. Kaylene has been a close friend of ours since high school. Her son, Kayden, is 5 and all three kids get alone wonderfully. Kaylene is a single parent and mentioned that she would love to take Kayden to Disney World, but didn't think she'd ever be able to do it. Bambi took that as a personal challenge, did the planning & budgeting, and invited them along. Here they are on their very first Monorail ride:

We've done it all. On this trip we did it all again, for the first time. In this Trip Report, I'll relive it again for the first time so you can experience it again. For the first time. I'll be back in a little while with the first installment. You can take that time to try and figure out that last sentence, because I sure don't know what I said.

Woohoo!!! Will you have games like Mark did?:rotfl2::lmao:

Look forward to reading about your trip.

I'm in Barry, as long as there are no Brewer or Packer references! ;)

Looking forward to another Dec 2010 report. :cool1: Maybe one of these days I'll write my own.:confused3

Cool! A new place to have some fun wi... err, to hear all about your awesome family's adventures. Can't wait for more. Great photos to start.

I am here to make sure you tell the truth and correct any "mistakes" you may have along the way.

Love you dear.

I like how you did not ask to use this picture until it was posted.

I did not get to go to Disney until well into our marriage. I begged and begged to go before we were married.

Who you calling grown up?

Not so much a personal challenge as a good deed. Every kid should experience Disney at least once in their childhood. I feel that it is child abuse (okay not necessarily abuse but definitely neglect) if they don't get to go once.

We've done it all. On this trip we did it all again, for the first time. In this Trip Report, I'll relive it again for the first time so you can experience it again. For the first time. I'll be back in a little while with the first installment. You can take that time to try and figure out that last sentence, because I sure don't know what I said.

I didn't get to do it all. I still have not done it all. Why do you think we are going back?

What's up buddy?

Love how you just happen to start your TR 2 days before Christmas... :badpc::badpc:

Hi Bambi! :wave2: Or should I say hi to 'The woman who single handily kept a whole Brazilian Tour Group at bay, so we could have a good spot for Wishes?' :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

First of all I would first like to say that I'm subscribing to this report on the first page, not first.

Can't wait to join the ride and relive all that is old again, newly, or something.

Who you calling grown up?

I think he's referring to the nice family on the left there... :confused3

I'm here! Sorry I'm a little late. Those TSA guys don't make traveling easy.

Which brings us to this trip. In my second Trip Report, I mentioned that we were already planning this December Trip when we went on that one. I teased this Trip Report as being the third installment of a trilogy. Turns out I lied. This trip was so special and unique that it had to stand on its own.

That's ok. Typically, the third movie sucks anyway. You don't have Ewoks, so you're ahead of the game already.

I had more hair at that age, too. :sad2:

I went through all of the pictures I have on my computer from that trip, and didn't find one with my face. Thanks, mom and dad.

Is there a reason for that? :confused3

 So cute!

Well, we're all grown up now. Sort of.

That's a relative term.

Bambi took that as a personal challenge, did the planning & budgeting, and invited them along.

:thumbsup2 I like the way you think!

We've done it all. On this trip we did it all again, for the first time. In this Trip Report, I'll relive it again for the first time so you can experience it again. For the first time.

Wait, who's on first?

Woohoo!!! Will you have games like Mark did?:rotfl2::lmao:

Unlike my report, Barry's will probably be entertaining enough on its own that he won't need such childish gimmicks to keep people interested.

This TR just got better. popcorn::

::yes::

Always helpful to have the wife on board to keep things honest. Or join in the insults. :sad2:

very nice touch with starting off with firsts! :thumbsup2 I need to go find my only photo of my first trip... in my Navy whites in front of the castle :rotfl2:

Will be interesting with Bambi on board here... popcorn::

Woohoo!!! Will you have games like Mark did?:rotfl2::lmao:

Look forward to reading about your trip.
:welcome:
Wow, first response and I'm already a second rate Trip Report. :sad2:

Well, this should be good!
:welcome:
Please don't get your hopes up.
I'm in Barry, as long as there are no Brewer or Packer references! ;)
:welcome:
Remember, I'm a Cubs fan too. However, Rodgers is starting this week against the Giants. All we have to do is win our last two games, and we're in the playoffs!:woohoo:

Looking forward to another Dec 2010 report. :cool1: Maybe one of these days I'll write my own.:confused3
:welcome:
There's enough TRs out there - just copy and paste a few entries from each!
Trust me, no one will notice that in one entry you have 5 kids, and in the next your daughter is African American.
Cool! A new place to have some fun wi... err, to hear all about your awesome family's adventures. Can't wait for more. Great photos to start.
:welcome:
Thanks. I dug through 3 boxes of pictures last night and can't find any more from our '86 trip. One of my other siblings must have them...:confused3

:welcome:
I love presents! Especially when they're wrapped up with pretty bows!

I am here to make sure you tell the truth and correct any "mistakes" you may have along the way.
:welcome:
Ladies and Gentlemen, I present my better half. It was my last Trip Report that made her create an account so she could correct all of my mistakes. I'll tell everyone now - I'll probably make some in this one too.
Love you dear.
:love:Awww...I love you too!

I like how you did not ask to use this picture until it was posted.
I couldn't not share those awesome purple pants with everyone!

Who you calling grown up?
The kids, of course. Look how tall they are!

I didn't get to do it all. I still have not done it all. Why do you think we are going back?
Oh, thanks for reminding me. I'll go ahead and make the announcement now. We're driving down in June for 2 weeks. Look for another Trip Report early this summer!

WoooHOO!! I love your TR's! :cool1:
:welcome:
Thanks! And like I said above, there's another one coming!

This TR just got better. popcorn::
Now you can get your hopes up. :thumbsup2

What's up buddy?

Love how you just happen to start your TR 2 days before Christmas...

Hi Bambi! :wave2: Or should I say hi to 'The woman who single handily kept a whole Brazilian Tour Group at bay, so we could have a good spot for Wishes?' :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
:welcome:
Tim, consider it an early Christmas Present!
I just wish I could have seen her work on that tour group. I hear it was amazing!:worship:

First of all I would first like to say that I'm subscribing to this report on the first page, not first.

Can't wait to join the ride and relive all that is old again, newly, or something.

Who you calling grown up?

I think he's referring to the nice family on the left there... :confused3
:welcome:
Good, you sound as confused as I am. I guess we're in the same boat. And that boat is clearly the happiest cruise that ever sailed. Hey, were did all these singing dolls come from?

:welcome:
Did you add extra butter?

I'm here! Sorry I'm a little late. Those TSA guys don't make traveling easy.
:welcome:
You could have taken the roads, but I hear they're not very good either. :rotfl2:

Is there a reason for that? :confused3
Like I said, I'm pretty sure one of my siblings have those picture. That's my story and I'm sticking too it.

That's a relative term.
No, relative terms are things like "brother", "sister", "uncle" and "third cousin twice removed on my mother's side"

:thumbsup2 I like the way you think!
Gosh, I don't think anyone's ever said that before. You'd better go get yourself checked...

Wait, who's on first?
Who left in free agency last season. Yankees signed him for 6 years, $137 million.

Unlike my report, Barry's will probably be entertaining enough on its own that he won't need such childish gimmicks to keep people interested.
And we're back to not getting our hopes up again, OK?

Always helpful to have the wife on board to keep things honest. Or join in the insults. :sad2:
Too true. :sad1:

This looks So fun.. I am subscribing.. Can't wait to read more!
:welcome:
I hope to have some more entries soon. And I hope to have good entries shortly after those.:rotfl2:

very nice touch with starting off with firsts! :thumbsup2 I need to go find my only photo of my first trip... in my Navy whites in front of the castle :rotfl2:

Will be interesting with Bambi on board here... popcorn::
:welcome:
If you have it, go ahead and post it here!

That goes for everyone - if you have your first Disney picture and want to share it, feel free to post it in this thread! That would be pretty cool!

And yes...interesting... that's a good word. :thumbsup2
